    I remember when they first came out. I had a Virago 1100 and that V-Max was just a rompin', stompin', fire breathing MONSTER.

    There is also a 10A fan fuse under the faux tank in that little fuse box 👍

    Thanks, just bought a 2000 VMAX with only 7500 miles. In great shape but I am bringing it into Yamaha dealer to do a full check and tune up.

      Sweet! The thing I love about this generation is the ease of maintenance. Definitely let your trusted mechanic finger it, but it’s so easy to do most basic maintenance. Congratulations and ride safe! Hope you post some kick ass videos of your VMax!!

    It's the rear cylinders overheating, same as Suzuki Cavalcade.
    Add two electric fans to the rear cylinders

    There’s a couple ways to to help, even if the fan works , you can add a manual switch and turn the fan on when you want. I added water wetter to my cooling system and it made a difference, it just runs cooler. Do a flush , then add it.

    What a gorgeous Vmax that is the paint is absolutely stunning I have an 88 red and I love it I do have a problem with the right side overflow hose continuously running I’m hoping you have something in your subscriptions that will help me thank you God bless

      I love the all red vmax! Want to swap colors?! 😝
      I actually had the same exact problem with the overflow on the right. I removed the carbs and brought to my mechanic for a good cleaning. It’s not that bad of a job. Maybe I’ll do another tear down and do a carb sync for you too? But this time I’ll record it!!

    My 07 Vmax did the same thing! Unfortunately, the coolant was old and when I flushed the system there was a whole bunch of debris in the radiator. A good flush, new fluid and it’s as good as new. Thanks for the tip though, I may pull those wiring plugs and add some dielectric grease for good measure.

    Yeah usually happens when the connector gets corrided along with the wiring ,I usually just replace the wires and make sure the sensor isn't corrided.

    witch fuse is suitable..?

  • @tomrynkewicz7674
    @tomrynkewicz7674 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Or you could just unplug it from the temp sensor like you did and put a switch in to be able to turn the fan on anytime you wanted.

      To jury rig temporarily, absolutely. As a permanent solution no.
      I had commented in this section that the one thing I would do is the Holeshot.com aluminum radiator fan and handlebar switch. I would personally only want the switch as a backup.

      @@vaultexplorers1337 I actually got rid of the huge ugly factory radiator and run a smaller aluminum one off a Honda with a switch and it works fine.

    I want to find My v max 1200 bike head light fuse location.. and change the fuse.. can You tell Me where it was....?

      I just printed the manual. From carlsalter. I look it up.

    • @vaultexplorers1337
      @vaultexplorers1337  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On page 6-35 of the manual (download from carlsalter). It says the 2 fuse location are under the seat and under the faux gas tank cover. It’s too late to look now, but I’ll check soon and try to give you a definite answer. What year is your Vmax? Are you riding in Sri Lanka?
