2007 Vmax 1200 fuel issues & other general maintenance items

  • I went out to take a ride on the Vmax but it wouldn't start, I started to strip down the bike and realized, hey, I should be filming this. So I started filming at that point and this is what I found.

    Great video, nicely explained, i asked how do you get to the carbs on my 2007 yamaha vmax and this is the only video that explained it and made it look so easy and great close up shots, i now have more confidence in trying it myself and change the air filter and 🎉spray the carbs etc, thank you so much, from george.

    is yours an 06 i like those grips i want some like that mine seem to be to small

      Mine was the 07, I found those grips back in 2008 and they went along with the flame paint job from the factory.

    Does yours have an oiling problem under hard acceleration?

      No oil problems at all, just got it to where I wanted it and I recently had an accident and the bike was totaled along with me.

      If your talking about the oil light coming on. It's normal and a sign of a good running V-Max. The oil sensor is at the front of the oil pan.

      No, not an oil light issue at all. The bike is totaled so I don't have to worry about Vmax issues at all anymore, just keep healing after the accident. 🙂@@markmorris6208

      @@markmorris6208 that is what I was talking about and yeah she runs great I just don't know if there's a solution for that or if it matters

    Great video on basic maintenance ,very helpful. I went to the morely muscle filter kit after my lid got cracked and efi for nitrous.

      ​@tanktankerson1042 By the way are you using screw on clamps for the fuel filter? I haven't had any luck with them ,I went to the constant tension clamps mine kept leaking.

      Mine was a factory OEM pump I purchased off Partzilla so the mount was built into the pump itself and installed directly in place of the old pump.

      @tanktankerson1042 Awesome ,I like stock bikes mine had 2 inline fuel pumps one didn't work and the oem fuel pump which also didn't work still on when I bought mine lol.
