      @@kodokunaraida1044 LOL Sounds about right. I started riding in 1995 and my first bike was a '95 ZX-11 and after a few months decided it was too much for me so traded in for the EX-500 lol. I have had several other bikes over the years...a few CB750s, a CB650, Virago, some others. Never wrenched on any of them until i got my first repair bill for a Harley...decided I need to learn and saved myself thousands in tire changes alone lol. So now I have the comfort of a full dresser and soon will have the original Muscle bike to run rampant with =)
      The age on the VMax doesn't seem to show much..until you look for parts for one. Seems some things are in abundance but the bigger items are in short supply nowadays.

      I’m not sure how many bikes I had ridden until I got my 1985 vmax 10 years ago. I love that old girl but I love the look of my black 1994 now as well. You said you have problems with the front end of your bike, what’s the problem? KR

    • @Skeelos13
      @Skeelos13 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, well the previous owner seemed to have an altercation with the rear end of a car. Claimed the brakes are bad since they locked up when he was trying to stop (sounds like they work to me, but meh). Messed up the fork. Claimed he replaced the fork with one from a '92 and insisted that the wheel is bent. When I look at it, it looks to me like the fork is a bit out of whack. So I am going to take off the wheel and put it on my balancer and see if it shows. The wheel doesn't wobble on the bike, but it is noticeable as the handlebars go to the right when the wheel is centered and it looks like the forks don't line up correctly. Figure I'll check it out on my balancer before making any knee jerk purchases.
      Lots of little issues, but the engine runs like a top, so I still think i got a good deal lol.

      It’s an interesting message. About 8 years ago an 85 year old man went through a stop light and hit on my left side on my front wheel. I hit his windscreen and pushed forward to the other side of the road and then hit by a car coming the other way. I broke both legs my and my left arm spitting my bicep in half. But now I’m pretty recovered. The front end of my 85 was ripped of my bike and bent my frame.
      I straightened the frame . Replaced the front forks and head bearing set up. So all I was left from original was the frame back.
      After fitting it back up it was great.
      It sounds like your top head assembly maybe bent and maybe the fork he didn’t replace.
      The good thing is that they are not expensive ( well not in Japan)
      When we fix a bike after a crash you simply can replace the bent or broken. You must go back further to parts that have absorbed the impact.
      I wish so many of my subscribers lived in Japan so I could help and give them parts I have

    I have been wondering on how to remove rear wheel from dual arm shaft based motorcycle and once imagining this is the way, but kept thinking no way its gonna be this way. Turns out it is 😂 . Now i understand why even on long range and high speed oriented bike, they use monoarm on shaft driven bike 😅😅

    Didn't notice till now, but I see that you places a floor jack under the engine at 15:50. Is this necessary in order to remove the rear wheel? Was not in the frame until this point but there was no mention of why it was placed.

    • @kodokunaraida1044
      @kodokunaraida1044  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thanks for your comment and question. There is no need for any jack when removing the rear wheel when it is sitting on the center stand. The stand gives you just enough height to slip that rear wheel out. The reason I had placed the jack under the engine was because of my rear shocks. I had fitted after market rear shocks and I wasn’t sure if they would push the rear swing arm down lower than the standard shocks after removing the rear axle so I had it there simply as a precaution, but I didn’t need it. In fact having a jack between the center stand and front wheel is never recommended if you are removing the rear wheel as you may lift the front wheel off the ground causing the bike to fall. Even if you are jacking the bike to remove the front wheel you must be careful. If you jack the bike even slightly lifting the center stand off the ground it can fall over as well. I hope this answers your good question. Stay safe and thank you again for supporting my channel.

    • @rickshabin
      @rickshabin 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you place a jack under the front of the engine put a flat piece of wood between your scissor jack and the engine and be careful not to trap the oil sensor wire. You only need to raise it by about 1 inch to raise the front wheel off the ground.
