Great to see your progress, and the finished hat! Don’t be afraid to rip back, you will love the project even more when you put in more effort. I was actually ripping out some ribbing while watching you discuss it 😂Was hoping to see the wool museum footage , but now something to look forward to in the next video 😊
Oh Ashley, if one morning you wake up and find no more yarn or knitted items in your house, you have been robbed....by ME!!!! Love love love all your bright colours and your fun, relaxed attitude. Look forward to next episode already! xxx
Glad I found your channel! I love your sense of color! Also… I’ve never regretted ripping back to make something better. I do have things I never wear because they don’t fit right. You know what you have to do. 😂❤❤❤
love all the colourful knits! im making a lento out of flat feet. i would add the collar and second sleeve then block your stick seasons before doing to much to the body, will give you a true indication of how much it grows and sits with the weight of collar and sleeves.
gotta say i loooooove spun right round's tough sock base. i'm sure there are lots of other indie dyers that use the same base, but their yarn was the first i encountered. i have a pair of shortie socks knit up with it and it's just perfect. definitely planning to make a ton more in the future as the tough sock name seems to be holding true
Thanks for another great video! I love all your bright colours. If you do end up ripping back your stick season just think that you'll get to enjoy knitting with that gorgeous yarn for even longer!
Ash! You’re so sweet! I’ve really loved our interactions over the past few months ☺️ and what you said about admiring each other’s styles which are so different from our own is so true. I’m so glad you’re a part of this community and we’re online friends! If I were you, I would block the stick season sweater while you’re working on it to see how much it grows. It’s annoying to block mid-project but it’ll help you make a final decision. You can put your stitches on hold on a rubber cord or finish the one sleeve then see what you think after a block. Or steam it if that’s accessible to you! It’s such a gamble with super wash on how much it’ll grow on a larger surface area compared to your swatch. Good luck on it! It’s so pretty and you should definitely do what will make the best end product even though that may mean going back to something you thought was done 😂 and I’m telling you to do this while eyeing the pile of finished knits I need to go back to at some point and fix
I came to suggest this as well: block it now. I don't even take out my needles (metal - wouldn't block on wood), just soak it for 30 minutes as-is, lay flat to dry, and try it on. It will give you a definite answer on how much it will grow, and if you still decide to add more length you'll be able to measure exactly how many rows you need.
You have now convinced me to get the sock project book! My SIL works at readings and their pre-order is arriving in early May so hopefully I will get it soon. Love your grey/hot pink combo!
I’d heard before that chartreuse is a magic colour that will just pair well with anything and everything, but I’d never seen so many good examples of how it looks. Thanks for sharing all this beautiful combos!
Hi Ash. Love the podcast. If you check out Summer Lee's sock patterns on Ravelry there's one that's slip stitch texture and designed for one yarn. Called Seasons socks.
Loved this episode! I was just telling my parter yesterday I wished summer Lee had a book. I was amazon before you said French connection lol. Thank you so much!
You are better than me with the sock that dosent fit😂😂 I did my first colorwork sock, it didn’t fit, rippped it out and haven’t touched it in months 🤦🏻♀️… on the sweater, you could block it, see how it fits, and add more after and reblock it if you need 😊
Have you thought about doing a mid project block on your stick season sweater while you are waiting for your new needles? That should give you a good idea of what will happen when you do your finished object block.
Don't rip the sweater back. Maybe you could block it and see if the yarn stretches like you wanted, try it on and then decide whether or not you need to add lenghth.
Why don’t you block the sweater first, before ripping back the ribbing? It might save you a ton of time in the end … plus you will know the growth rate of the yarn 😊
Your socks are fabulous! Congratulations on 10 episodes!!
Aww thank you!! Yay! 💕

Thanks Marita!! What were you ripping back?? 😮 and don't worry I will have plenty of Wool Museum footage in my next video! 😉

Thank you 💕 Me too! I’m sock addicted!
Glad I found your channel! I love your sense of color! Also… I’ve never regretted ripping back to make something better. I do have things I never wear because they don’t fit right. You know what you have to do. 😂❤❤❤
Thank you! Glad you found it! You’re right!
Love your vibe 😀
Thank you!!
Love the matching nails and hat!!!! So cute!

Thank you! A Lento would be stunning in Flat Feet!!
I reckon that’s what I’m going to end up doing!

Their colourways just touch my soul like no other! I’m so lucky to have a yarn store near me that stocks them!
Thanks for another great video! I love all your bright colours. If you do end up ripping back your stick season just think that you'll get to enjoy knitting with that gorgeous yarn for even longer!
Thank you so much! I didn’t think about it like that! ☺️
I love the bright color palette of your knits.
Thank you! 🥰

Yay! Online friends hahaha
Mid project block might be the way to go! It might be my lifesaver if I don’t have to rip it back!

Thank you! That makes me so happy!! The more people have it the more wonderful socks I get to see!! 💕
Omg so happy I found you! Mad About Ewe recommended you & I'm so pleased she did! Fellow Aussie here!
❤ Susannah
Yay! I’m glad you found me too!! Welcome!!

I’ve never been so in love with a colour! I really appreciate you appreciating my colour combos! It’s so fun to experiment!
Hi Ash. Love the podcast. If you check out Summer Lee's sock patterns on Ravelry there's one that's slip stitch texture and designed for one yarn. Called Seasons socks.
Thanks for the tip! I checked it out and it’s almost like broken rib stitch which I LOVE!
Loved this episode! I was just telling my parter yesterday I wished summer Lee had a book. I was amazon before you said French connection lol. Thank you so much!
It's soooo good! I'm so glad you loved this ep!!!

Trust me for every finished socked there are about 3 unfinished ones! 😂 I think that’s what I’ll end up doing! Thanks!
It took me 15 minutes before I spotted the loaf in the background! There is a new star of the podcast I must say.
Bagel loves to loaf! I'm surprised she stayed loafing so long with the bright lights but maybe she felt right at home in the spotlight! 😂
I’m fully sold on grellow
It's just the best! Trying so hard not to incorporate into every sock project haha 😅
Have you thought about doing a mid project block on your stick season sweater while you are waiting for your new needles? That should give you a good idea of what will happen when you do your finished object block.
Yes! Hoping to block it soon!
You could block the jumper now to see what happens? I've had superwash add an extra 10cm or more!
I needed to hear this! Thanks!
How did I grow up in Geelong and not know there is a wool museum???
😂 that’s so funny! That’s like I live near the beach but never go!!
Don't rip the sweater back. Maybe you could block it and see if the yarn stretches like you wanted, try it on and then decide whether or not you need to add lenghth.
I like that idea because there’s no frogging involved! Thanks!
@@SmashKnits You're welcome! Let us know how it goes 🙂
I think you’ll be disappointed if you don’t add length to your Stick Seasons sweater.
I think you're 100% right!!
Why don’t you block the sweater first, before ripping back the ribbing? It might save you a ton of time in the end … plus you will know the growth rate of the yarn 😊
Good thinking!! Thanks!
