I just discovered your channel and subscribed within the first minute of your intro cause i already love it! So happy whenever i find new craft channels!
Happy Birthday! I love the colours you've used in the Stella cushion, and I think a matching blanket would be amazing! If you sometimes knit socks on circulars, for the afterthought heel, after you've picked up one side of the stitches, push the needle through so the picked up stitches are on the cable rather than the needle to pick up the second lot. It's very tight to get into them if both sets of stitches are on the needle. If you're a DPN gal, I would even do the picking up stitches and cutting on a circular, then transfer back to DPNs for the knitting. Another tip I would give is to put a lightbulb stitch marker into the stitch you're going to cut, because then you can use the marker to kind of pull the stitch away from the rest of the fabric so you can be sure you're only cutting one stitch.
As a fellow lover of all things pink, I love the color choices for your knits! Especially love the colors you used on your stella cushion, they would look so good in a blanket too! And you've also sold me on the Summer Lee sock book. I'm gonna see if I can find it in stock at my local yarn store 😊
I live in Arkansas, in the US. And it’s been hot here too. We had about 2 weeks of winter in January. And that’s about it. It was hot all fall, winter, and now it’s exceptionally hot this spring. There is already days where I have to use the treadmill instead of walking outside because it’s just so hot. So I completely understand. 🫶🏻
Great episode! I love a long episode. I now really want the sock project book! I’m a mostly monogamous knitter and I can say my main motivation is just knowing I’ll lose steam otherwise. I’ll be knitting something and bored of it but I know that if I power through I get to wear the thing. So I think focusing on the end result to drive you is the best way to be monogamous! But I also know I’m very different with how I think about my knitting so that might not work for everyone 😊
Thank you! 💕 I definitely feel the loosing steam part! I think I need to keep reminding myself about what you said - that the longer I procrastinate the longer I have to wait until I get to wear it!
What helps me when I’m knitting in the round, just straight stockinette, is I read a book while I do it. I don’t have to look at stockinette when I’m knitting it. And I’ve made so many socks while reading books. 😅
Have you considered making two socks at once? This is how I always do it because I know it would take me forever to do the second sack once I got the first one done
Love your Stella Quilt Cushion. I couldn't stop looking at it. I really like the color of your Storm Sweater Junior. Blocking pins are so useful!
Thank you so much!!
I am excited I found your podcast. Enjoying your bright fun color knits! Also Love Summmer! She is relatable!
I’m so glad you found me! She’s so funny!

Awesome tips! Thank you!! Summer does show the lightbulb stitch marker trick in the book but I didn’t read it properly in the first sock 🤦♀️
Fyberspates Cumulus is a really nice ( alpaca and silk) , I find it so soft. if you haven't tried that one before.
Thanks for the suggestion! I haven’t tried that one yet!

I wish I could do this! Maybe I just need to practice!

I have tried to do it on two circulars and it was fine but for some reason I didn’t finish them… 😂
