Finally catching up, your knits are all so stunning Ash, I'm so glad you started podcasting and sharing and getting to know you has been great fun too. I love that Knitting for Olive red you bought and can't wait to see what you make with it xx
I’m the same! So many podcast friends means so many podcasts to watch 😂😂😂 I’m so grateful to have met you! It’s been so fun sharing stories and having a laugh!
I'm really glad that you've found the knitting community so welcoming! I'm only a newbie knitter myself (1 year), and the projects you do inspire me! The fact that that is your first colourwork project is phenomenal!!!! Im taking a colourwork class at my yarn store before I dive into my first colourwork because yarn dominance/floats scare me. I hope you have the best time at the Sheep and Wool show, its on my list for next year :D As for giveaway prizes, I think, it might be nice to tie it to something that you love? I'm thinking like the Summer Lee sock book that you raved about, or maybe like a few items that you love/has helped your knitting, or a yarn combo/pattern kit that you have knitted in the past (Like a little Turtle Dov kit). I think a giveaway should reflect you :)
Thank you! I promised you that two stranded colourwork isn’t as scary as it seems! You might surprise yourself and be a pro at it! I’m looking forward to it! Hopefully, you can go next year! Those are great suggestions! They seem so obvious when you point it out! Thank you so much!! 💕💕💕
Lovely podcast episode. I especially love minis as a dessert analogy 💕. They are such a treat right? I hope you enjoy the Australian Sheep and Wool Show, I’m going for the first time too.
I'm shook that the Lumme is your first ever colourwork project - it looks amazing!! I really love the effect of the light coloured fingering with a brighter mohair in your solo hat.
That colourwork sweater looks amazing! I definitely recommend staying at Tarndie. It’s really beautiful and the family are really lovely and welcoming. Looking forward to seeing what you make with your Polworth!
You’ve convinced me! Not that I take much convincing 😂 maybe for my bday next year I can convince John to come with me! I’m looking forward to using it! So tempted to cast on soon!!
Congrats on 1K subbies! 🎉I really like the color of your Tolsta Tee. I just finished my Tolsta Tee. When I bought the pattern, there were no bust darts, but I hope to make another one with bust darts. 🧶
Congratulations on 1000 subs and nice little tech upgrade! I have been carting and uncarting the noro all week trying to hold off until Bendigo but jeeps this has made it hard! I love the colourwork and am so thankful you mentioned to just purchase knitting for olive directly :)
You’re so welcome and thank you so much! I’m so weak when it comes to Noro. It’s that whole scarcity mentality that I won’t be able to find that same colour again 🤦♀️ I hope you are stronger than me 😂
Great video, congrats on 1000 subscribers. So nice to watch a fellow Aussie and a Little Woolie and Loom and Spindle shopper (my LYS) sad Andrea had to close. I loveeee the Uma yarn and wonder where to purchase now?
Thank you!! ☺️ was so devastated when I found out! Hopefully we run into each other at a LYS! Loom & Spindle are still online so you can still purchase it from them and have it shipped!
Always excited to see your vibrant thumbnail on my TH-cam watch list 🤭 I’m loving your colorwork sweater!! I’ve been wanting to knit something similar so it’s super helpful to hear about your experience
I also feel the same about knitting for olive yarn, i think Aussie yarn is just super soft. Will definitely try out that mohair! The quality of your new set up is 🤌 i also end up with extra 2 balls of yarn unless i buy the exact amount then somehow yarn chicken halfway through. Idk.
Also should have waited to the end of the video to comment.. I love tarndie yarn! I'm knitting the lumme sweater in their yarn! It's so deliciously plump and soft. They're so lovely and I love their hand dyed yarn and natural yarn.
I’m so glad the new set up worked out 😅 would be a bit awkward if it was worse haha! I’ve been overbuying on every project and now I’ve gone the opposite way and I am playing yarn chicken as well! Murphy’s law at its finest!
@SmashKnits I was coming here to comment and say maybe your raffle mohair could be Canberra socks and that way it's not too much fluff up around your head if it isn't your favourite :)
everything is so beautiful, thanks for posting!
You're so nice! Thank you!
You did an amazing job for your first colorwork. Congratulations.
Thank you so much!

Omg thank you!! I want so badly for it to look good so your words means a lot! I’m obsessed with marle-ing all types of combos now!

Thank you so much 💖 Me too! So glad she added them!
Your colorwork is AMAZING! I cannot believe it’s your first attempt. It is lovely, and even when you pointed out a “problem” I couldn’t see it
Awww thank you so much!! I think I’m a bit too critical on myself sometimes 😅 it’s the perfectionist in me!

A Lumme in Tarndie would be absolutely magnificent! I’m so jealous!! 😍
Great episode Ash ❤ your turtle dove shawl is beautiful! Quality of the video is beautiful- what camera and mic set up did you get?
Thank you!! I’m really happy to hear it’s an improvement!!
