Thanks for watching and sorry about the audio quality issues during some parts of the video! I did my best trying to fix that
Don´t worry, it gives an authentic touch, the rumbling engines make the mood adventureous!
Yeah I agree...it makes it real
I've heard far worse. I agree that the sounds add to the experience and you're speech is still plenty clearly enough annunciated to understand. I'm thinking your natural voice is on the pleasantly strong side of volume.
Not a problems. The high-definition video is superb, leaving one wishing for more local scenery and looking forward to viewing more episodes. Thank you..
you should try Dramamine for sea sickness...it works well with few side effects.
So many channels are full of hype and artificial polish. I've been toying around with doing a video series on wilderness travel, cold weather survival - that sort of thing. I have a lot that I'd like to share after 50+ years of knocking around in the great outdoors, and your low-key but very informative presentation gives me an excellent example that you don't have to be slick to succeed. One other thing. As a veteran sea kayaker, I have a deep appreciation for those of you who venture out on the last great wilderness on the planet. Fair winds and five stars for a job well done. Haha, pure happiness on Juhos's face when he managed to reverse park the tank. :)
I get vertigo from Meniere's syndrome. What works for me is Ginger. Ginger cookies work but do have sugar. So I just swallow ground ginger powder with anything, Almond Milk, Tea. It prevents vertigo.
Something very raw and gentle about your channel ... so satisfying. Sticking around for more.
With so many channels focusing on the Caribbean, it’s nice to see a change of scenery. Following your journey from Hawaii. Aloha.
Absolutely. Most of the channels are fair weather only and don't show what the ocean can really be like
And no old cougar tarts still thinking they're lamb instead of mutton :-).
@@zendesigner and your point being what exactly?
@@charonstyxferryman and the point being what exactly. Doesn't change the fact most boats you see on here don't venture far north or south of the tropics. Noone ever said they are the only boat that's not
@@zendesigner I don't drink vinegar for starters. And I'm perfectly pleasant enough, if you don't like it it sounds like a you problem not a me problem. Though still not sure how you get that from your comment
Just started watching you, on our fourth episode now that you and Shovi are on route to Iceland. I am a retired Navy Commander, my wife and I have an Australian built 32 ft Swanson sailboat. I am trying to understand your love for sailing around in such cold weather and harsh conditions. Might I recommend a little detour to the Bahamas 😁.. I have to put you on pause now that both of your engines have failed. It is New Year's Eve here in Nova Scotia on Canada's Atlantic Coast. We have to go make our New year's Eve pizza. I know you are going to get here engines running again. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you both 👍
Juhooooooo, it's the time for your small production to make a BIG Q&A video!!!!
"If for some stupid reason you would like to support my small production.." Hey, where's the faith in one's self brother !!
Honestly, its exactly this wonderful fly by the seat of your pants sense of humor which so clearly defines you as the splendid talented, modest, understated, cool dude you are..& Sofie seems to be equally totally down to Earth ..wonderful ! Sometime maybe share a bit about who you two are in real life, what circumstances played in bringing your two unique souls to the same table..maybe a bit about your youth times..all that good stuff. Im in Big Sur..Calif.mid coast, Monterey County..I have a dinner setting all ready for you two once your out here bouts...big love , & respect to you both !
If I saw some UFO boat with orange sails backing through marina it would grab my attention.
Most beautiful down to earth comment from a cool person!! ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Agreed, negative self talk is not called for here!
I believe that's typical Scandinavian modesty. Must be sounding very strange for people who're used to beating themselves on the chest all the time 😉
Jah Hey ! that reverse manoeuvre was Super Coool !
By far the best channel on TH-cam. Watch all videos from the beginning and I am thoroughly in awe of all of your skill sets. I have lived by the sea all my life and have dived and swam in all types of seas but have not taken the opportunity to sail which is something I deeply regret. Look forward to watching the rest.
You two are great, so typical Scandinavians; modest and humble. I signed up on Patreon since I want to support your production, and I look forward to a fantastic winter adventure. Cheers.
So awesome that you are supporting! This is one of the first channels that I really want to support as well, need to take the plunge I guess! ha,
Thank Yous. I'm a down and out old uncle, living out my fantasy..
Finns aren't technically Scandinavians, they are Nordics
Bravo 👏 so refreshing to see other place than south tropical ilands and turquoise water. Enjoy thanks a lot
Beautiful photography nice
Wow, the cheerful, friendly, welcoming harbormaster at Torshavn really makes me want to visit the Faroes just as soon as i can!!! 🙄
I always enjoy all your videos and it's always a pleasure to see the beautiful miss Sohvi on the trip too....Safe travels
thanks Karen! :)
Beautiful Coast! 🤗
Reminds Me Of The Cliffs Of Moher In Ireland ☘️ 🇮🇪
I love Arktika! Arktika looks so secure and safe in construction and it's beautiful! You are blessed. You are both good people and I wish you the best, be well.
Funny that they are so sweet and quiet, but in command of an Awesome vessel, in an inhospitable and dangerous environment ?
HOLA !!! AMO TUS VIDEOS !!! SALUDOS DESDE SAN LUIS ARGENTINA !!!!! 😄😄👍👍👍👌👌👌👏👏👏
bon voyage!
The more I see of your new boat, the more I love it!
Those cliffs were stunning!! Great drone shots!!
thank you!
I know! so funny, he warned us at the beginning of the voyage of not being able to get cinematic drone shots..... I would say he was wrong..
sarcasm is the best medicine against seasickness, bully your fellow sailors and you don't dare getting seasick
Oh boy, it does my heart good to follow you on the water.
Years ago I was a single-handed in my Contessa 25 - wonderful sea boat - sailing out of my home town of Plymouth Devon UK, and now, how I miss the sea ; but I can smell it and move with you now.
Fair winds and stay safe.my friend..
thank you Mo and I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
Thank you for sharing your trip. The drone footage was Beautiful
I love this…💗💗
Damn good parking ❣️😉
we're trying, we're trying!
Seasons greetings from Vancouver. Just so you know we’re watching your journey’s for a second time.
I am glad you posted a video. I was staring to worry about you.
The cliffs are breathtaking! I'm glad I found your page. I am from Minnesota, USA but have been living in the southwest, US for 30 years. But The weather reminds me so much home. Our American football theam is known as The Vikings. As the vikings of Norway etc. discovered Minnesota And the great lakes it their time, I wonder if Minnesota reminded them of home?
I wish you pink skies at night.😆
That really is some serious boat
Thank you. Your videos are always a treat.
Love it !
Reversing into your berth, good seamanship. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video. You must be a very smart guy, great choices on the boat and the first mate ! Thank you.
You're a lucky Captain.
Spectacular!
I really like your new boat 👍👍👍
Enjoy your videos mate, from australia
You rocked that berthing like a boss...
Great video UK 🇬🇧 👍
Nice video
Happy travels!
Superb production. Deeply moving. Thank Yous.
I’m envious your living such a carefree lifestyle. I get the northern oceans the area is beautiful. Are you going to warmer waters some day? I do enjoy your videos keep up the great work.
That's beautifully
We carry a packets of gingernut biscuits. They work for use.
Wow it’s so beautiful
Nice trip and nice berthing. Looks such an amazing place to visit. Thanks for sharing. Andy UK
I don't know why but I really like that boat.
Liquid ginger added to water before you start sailing stops the crew getting seasick. sipping it as you go on the voyage. i used to give out medication as the medic on board but they still got sick, did not remember feeling unwell and became useless anyway. Few drop added to water and your good to go. Oh and it will taste the same going down as it does coming up if its administered too late.
This is shaping up to be a great vlog of what is sure to be another great adventure. Great stuff!
❤❤❤
Very nice
Love your new adventures..
I so enjoyed this episode.. I really love Artika !! Never have I seen a vessel so fit for a couple... Thanks for sharing your lives with us ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Great video. Thank you
Well I'm now subscibed. Hope to cross paths next year when my refit for North Atlantic conditions is complete. No more Bikini Sailing for me boys !!!
hi SV Hydra, thanks for subscribing and see you somewhere cold! ;)
@2:06 Thanks for a beautiful shot.
Great episode...
Färsaaret. Oijoi. Sinne!
First time viewer here. That is one spectacularly good looking boat.
Glad it was a great trip! On a great boat! With two great people!
Nice one and great drone flying too 👍
Absultly gorgeous and Stunning. I can only dream how much fun this must be...
Enjoyed this first time watching you , from Spain 🇪🇸
Beautiful scenery. When working on the ship just strap the camera in a corner and work. Just enplane what your doing and save for later days. Good luck.
I HAVE WATCHED SEVERAL VIDEOS, I MUST SAY THAT IS AN AWESOME SAILBOAT, ENJOY ALL YOU CAN , KEEP THE WIND AT YOUR BACK GOD BLESS ALL, BE SAFE. I AM NOT YELLING, BAD EYE'S, JUST SEEING BETTER, PLEASE DONT TELL THE INTERNET POLICE HAhhahahhaah
Brilliant
Truly amazing, looking forward to follow you guys this winter!
thanks for sharing
Scopolamine is derived from the flower Death's Breath. You should read up on what they do with it in Columbia.
fair winds !
Drink Whiskey!. Neat! For seasickness. Or better, Rum.
Try cutting the sea sickness patches in half. They still work but with less side effects.
Sort of weird to see you in charge of such a big boat….yachtsman becomes sea captain!
Looking forward to Iceland and more skiing.
Loving that boat!
You guys are amazing people and I watched your videos over and over again. Regarding this boat I feel like it’s a motor sailer with a big emphasis on the motor part, and it’s built like a tank.
Just found you a few days ago up to Sep 21 already. Thank you for the superb cinematic shots of the Northern Latitudes. You have such a fabulous knack for capturing scenery And honestly the best music I have ever enjoyed on a You Tube Video. How do I learn where to get the music you use - all of your videos so far have such tasteful excellent motion/movement suited to the scene
Since you have two engines, you should only run one on long passages. Catamarans do it all the time, so I would wager you can too. Think about it! Half the run time on both engines, and half the maintenance and fuel costs. The performance hit is typically half to one knot of speed. Diesels will only give good service at around 2/3 throttle. So if you run two at lower revolutions per minute there may be damage over time.
I was instructed that this is correct when piloting a 55' ChrisCraft decades ago.
You have to check shaft cooling & gearbox lubrication for the non working engine thou if it's free spinning. Easiest to lock the shaft but increases drag
With a properly cooled engine and a correct thermostat, low RPM operation will actually result in less wear and less fuel consumption for the distance. Engine running too cool at low RPM, yes, this can cause wear and lower fuel efficiency. I run my Perkins 4.236 at 1,500 rpm for days or weeks at about 1.0 GPH. Add more power and the fuel burn is exponential. Yes, I want to see how Arktika does on a single engine. Sailing downwind seems the rudder didn't have very good authority, so lets wait to see about single engine operation.
You'll have to check with your engine manufacture for long running slow speed. My cat 3116s need a full load burn for 15 mins every 6hrs of slow speed.
Running 1500rpm for days on end isn't good for injectors turbo's or carbon build up.
That's a strange-looking boat but after going back and getting sucked into watching your other videos wow! I think this channel is going to blow up. Talk about unique! No other channel on TH-cam like it.
Good luck on your adventure. Noticed that your liferaft was too securely lashed to your deck. When you get a chance, best to get a cradle and hydrostatic release for it.
Very happy to get news of your crossing!
Share your joy in a successful docking 🤞😊. Many more to come.
Nice vid.......thank you
Your videos are always amazing, that boat is fantastic, so well taken care of and I hope the boat work wasn’t anything major. Thanks for taking us on your passage, the Faroes are amazing
Wow you’ve become an expert at vessel control in tight quarters, impressive, looks fun. Thank you for sharing I’m really enjoying your videos as they are so well put together. Hold fast.
You've got a great boat for where you are heading. I wish you the best
Thanks for letting us follow the adventure. Stay safe
As someone who gets seasick before I even step on a boat Scopoderm is a lifesaver ^ Tried all kinds of medicine and witchcraft but that one really did the trick. Which is ironic as I'm a fisherman who works at sea 4-5 months a year. Side effects can change time to time. Mostly dry mouth but I'm pretty sure i've experienced minor hallucinations/confused perspectives as your pupils kinda go nuts when you use it for weeks
Supposedly putting one ear plug in, not both, can help with seasickness. Some say put it in the same side as your dominant hand. Others say it doesn't matter, just plug up one ear.
I had watched one of your videos a year or more ago when you sailed somewhere to climb a mountain and ski down it. When I saw you got the new boat I checked it out and watched the episodes up to this one. Good story and well done. (You didn't make a whole video about cleaning up the fuel spill!!! So refreshing...😎)
From what I saw of Greenland from 40,000 feet looked so awesome and so very uninviting to me, but so beautiful. Subscribed and will stick around to see how it goes in Greenland for you.
Sometimes a whole scopolamine patch is too much and we cut them in half or even less and they are still somewhat effective without being so sleepy.
This was so cool. The southern latitudes give warmth, but the arctic gives a lot more. Good looking boat.
About the patch, cut it into four pieshaped pieces. Use one piece, if you need more add another piece. Have used Scopolamine for 30 years.
Love your channel and this new boat! Keep up the great work! Following along from Canada 🇨🇦 Cheers!
Great shots at the end! Wow!
That is a MAJOR first passage. Well done, sailors!
Congrats on a safe sail from Ontario
the moment you said "dry mouth" my mouth felt really really dry. Stop this wizardy at once!
again a wonderful video well done
Congrats on completing your first open ocean passage in the new boat. We look forward to seeing what you do there.
Spectacular!
