@Any One Why do feminist always call themselves 'strong and independent', yet victimise themselves non-stop and demand special privileges? Isnt that the polar opposite of being strong and independent?
@@brendanmorin9935 Youre not wrong; Most people who call themselves 'feminists' are not interested in talking to anyone who disagree with them. They want to talk to people who conform, and if faced with criticism they instead act offended and dismiss people on that basis, as if their feelings mean they get to disregard contrary information and data. Thats my experience.

@dolphintattoogirl it's White women who voted to open the borders and welcome other races into White countries, it goes both ways, it's not just White women who can benefit from this and find partners from other races, White men can too if they want, deal with it.
Amazed at how Beng easily adapted and loves this place. It is beautiful, but so different from Philippine weather where we constantly have sun, I can imagine how lonely it must feel during winter.
Having sun and warm weather does not automaticually mean you are less lonely. I know of many Pinoys that do not feel lonely in cold Canada, Norway and so on. It is not the weather that defines whether you will feel lonely or not, but more if you find companionsship, and in many places you will find the warmest and kindest people in the cold places. Given it is hard to a first get close to them, but when you do, then you get a friend for life. Often people in the cold places are more genuine than in warmer places.
Not surprising, women generally assimilate better than men when immigrating to a new country, they don't try to change the culture or to impose their own.
@@blueheart8786 there is a direct correlation between sunlight, vitamin D levels and mood. That’s the reason why people buy sun lamps to help during winter. A lot of my friends get depressed in the winter for this reason. You can google it. Of course that’s not to say every single person in cold weather will experience that lol
Beautiful to see these women adapt so well to their new homes. They don't try to change the local traditions, instead they feel privilege to embrace them.
Good place to hike and very quite I must say. But it's always gray and cloudy, if you dont mind a cold weather then it can be a suitable place for you.
It’s not peaceful. They stalk, torture and murder dolphins out of the water with knives and let them suffocate. They even kill calves and pregnant dolphins. They are a bunch of underdeveloped inbreds that lack culture and real traditions
Beng - the indepedent Filipina Woman, salutes to her. She proves that she can stand without another husband. I also love that she wants to study to get another high paying job. She should be the role model of the Filipinas who are in Faroe Islands. Addennum: The Filipina women living in Faroe Islands were also featured in a local tv show (kmjs). After watching it, I got the impression that some of the Filipinas in the island are male-ordered-brides. The Faroese dude is also correct. Most of the Filipinas will do the household chores for their family. (It is questions my identity if I am really a Filipina. I am too lazy to do household chores. Hahaha)
The Filipinos will change all that. They will fences in their homes or put up what is called Sari Sari stores (mini stores selling all sorts of things). They will also sell food items in plastic bags outside churches on a Sunday. Unless, the locals will really strive to preserve the character of the island.
Na its about a feminist politician trying to diverse one of the last white refuges on Earth and about filipina womens migration into that island. I think ive seen a man talk for 2 minutes and that was only the filipinas husband
hmmm... why would they go to the Philippines? Unless, these men also benefit from the relationship, too. I like the way these featured Filipina women as thriving successfully in a different setting. No matter what happens, they continue to want to learn, get job skills, make friends with the locals, cook for their female European friends, not just for their husbands, take care of handicapped people, learn their culture and language. I’m impressed.
They go to the filipines (and thailand a lot) because of our trawlers exporting fish to them. Besides, the couple met in Cyprus while he was on a vacation
smadge100 Why do you think that it is prostitution for a husband to provide for his wife and children? Do you think that a wife should cook, clean, do laundry, birth babies, raise the children, and earn half the family income while the husband gets to keep his income all to himself? I am a high wage earning white American woman and even I would not marry a man that will not provide for me and the children we will have together. It is not just to clean up after a grown man, cook his meals, wash his close, birth and raise kids his kids, and then be called a prostitute or reduced to a bed buddy just because the man brings his paycheck to the table. What the fuck does a man actually contribute to a family if not his paycheck since the woman does everything else for the family. Please don’t bother with saying his persona and love is enough because it is not when the wife is contributing her time, labor, and resources.

Yes. I agree. I've been there. I moved to Denmark in a winter time. My ever first winter season experience. My body got shocked and got sick for 2 weeks.
Worlds apart! The Faroes are 18 volcanic islands in the North Atlantic Ocean spread between Iceland and Norway. They are a part of Denmark, but self governed.
Definitely a goal of mine to move there in the years to come. I understand that the Faroese people take their environment (including wildlife) seriously. That’s imperative to me! Looking to make it happen, but for now I gotta learn the language. ❤️
Lovely people and place. It's nice to see children being raised in a safe, low crime environment. Regarding conservative traditions, I'm very left in my politics and very conservative about life style choices and decisions. Self respect and respect for others is essential to me. As long as a society does not harm the vulnerable, protects all people equally under the law, enforces the law, and respects nature and animals, I would not mind living in a conservative society. What I loathe and cannot tolerate is corruption, which I believe causes major harm to my species. Very lovely people and families featured in the video and the island is magnificiently beautiful.
Hi @I T, Thanks for expressing your concern. We have been informed by the producers that Antonette is already undergoing treatment. Best, The DW Documentary Team
The narrator says this is an example of how integration can work. Well, certainly but it is very unique. Generally, it's Filipino women marrying Faroe men. Not families integrating or single men. Also, it wasn't well explained why women were leaving, they wanted 'excitement' and the young men did not? Or was it because women were expected to stay home and keep house and be subservient to their husbands?
@Bárður the subtext in the documentary is still pretty much there. Traditional, constraining, new role model, equal opportunities, and philipino women viewed as traditional.
Please refrain from thinking that Asian women are subservient to their husbands. I'm a son of an Asian parents and my Mom is the boss in our household. I like to say my Dad maybe the emperor, but my Mom is the Shogun who actually rule!
Amazing documentary. Someone in comment section have rightly said that, integration is necessary from immigrants parts as well. An immigrant can enjoy both of two different world. He can bring his culture and at the same time can assimilate in others culture as well.
I was on that Island in winter for only three hours, and depression set in. It was the coldest rain I had ever felt in my life and uncomfortable. It is beautiful but your DNA has to match this weather somehow.
Probably true about the DNA, but Filipinos, as long as they feel they belong to a community or are part of a group, find it easy to smile. The Filipino is generally a social person rather than an individual.

The Philippines are such a vast archipelago. Is it a coincidence that the Filipinas seem to find it easier to get by with the insular environment of Faroe Islands since they're used to being an islander back in the Philippines??
A very nice video. I missed the interviewer explaining that this phenomenon of women leaving rural areas is common all over the world. The men feel a duty to continue on the family farm which has been in the family for centuries, or the family fishing company, and the women want the opportunities of the cities. In Norway, we have more than 60% of the students at colleges and universities that are women. In rural areas, just as on the Faeroe Islands, it is a majority of men. Marriage between Africans and Norwegians is very skewed. out of the 550 per year, 500 are women marrying an African man, and only 50 Norwegian men marrying African women. The women often meet their African men on the beach on a holiday trip or as employed on an NGO. These relationships are statistically very short-lived, leaving the men in limbo because they get forced out of the country. Marriage between Norwegians and Asians is also skewed, but this time more Norwegian men marry Asian women than the other way around. Because there are more Norwegian women than men in the cities, and fewer of them in rural areas, a slightly higher proportion of rural men travel far to find someone to marry. Even though there are a few bad cases, these marriages generally last long statistically. I think it would be nice if the interviewer had explained these things. She should also have explained that old fashioned traditional values are more common all over the world in rural areas. The question could also have been turned around: Why do women not want to live in rural areas? And this is worldwide. It is not only that there is a more traditional lifestyle. There are other factors too. I do not know the answer, but I think it has a deep biological background. We see the same pattern in genetic studies of African tribes way before there was any movement to cities: The women move away, the men stay. Some tribes have rules to counter that, such as in the Maasai that the youngest daughter inherits the parent's house.
I am 6th generation 🇦🇺 farmer, and many more before that in England. Traditional marriages don't automatically mean abusive men and weak women. Yes, in some cases. But there's just as much trouble in "modern" marriages too 🙄. It's about mutual respect and both parties being happy with how they choose to live. More power to them.

Yes we Filipinos can easily adapt, were malleable and flexible, can always adjust.
My fellow Filipinos, men or women are very hardworking 😍
There is a big issue right now of men missing traditional feminine old school women. As a female, I love traditional men, nothing wrong with him likening a traditional woman. To each their own friend

Thank you Kua❤️❤️❤️
yup! tbats true we are very strong, for many struggles in and we are so survivors and we are very hopitalized and we are respectable to other people or any foreign countries0

I love Antoinette's accent. She has a true Manila accent when she speaks English. Very easy to understand and very monotone.
Yeah it's true the first thing i did noticed too , think she's from Manila. I was born in Manila and still living somewhere here.

Modernised? Modernised? You make it sound as if the Faroes have been primitive until recently.
The Faroe Islands is one of the richest and most modern countrys in the world with the best standards of living!
There is ALOT more progress here than in the Filipines.

@Any One Why do feminist always call themselves 'strong and independent', yet victimise themselves non-stop and demand special privileges? Isnt that the polar opposite of being strong and independent?
@@tovsteh you probably have never even spoken to a feminist in person
@@brendanmorin9935 Youre not wrong; Most people who call themselves 'feminists' are not interested in talking to anyone who disagree with them. They want to talk to people who conform, and if faced with criticism they instead act offended and dismiss people on that basis, as if their feelings mean they get to disregard contrary information and data. Thats my experience.

@dolphintattoogirl I am sorry that you feel that way. Generally speaking if its a matter of choice that either men or women or any race/culture/religion are entitled to marry whoever they seem fit to be their spouse as long they are happy and get along. Being married is not treated as a social experiment but a life long commitment. Hope you will find peace in yourself and not to harbour resentment or bitterness towards others.
@dolphintattoogirl So, just starts being less feminist .. and Learn how to treat a man correctly..
@dolphintattoogirl Girl. Seek help. Are you even Faroese?
@dolphintattoogirl it's White women who voted to open the borders and welcome other races into White countries, it goes both ways, it's not just White women who can benefit from this and find partners from other races, White men can too if they want, deal with it.
I'd never heard of the Faroe Islands before. Oh my goodness, it's so beautiful. Had I known of it's existence, I would have visited years ago.
When Beng reaches the twilight of her life ,she will surely spend it in her beautiful tropical islands of the Philippines.
Kudos to Bang! Cool lady standing on her own two feet in a vastly different country and culture than what she was born into.
Philippine women are all so beautifull and full of life and strenght . Love to you all, my dears! Hugs from Brasil.
Filipino people are really humble, and genuine people ❤️ love them!
Beautiful to see these women adapt so well to their new homes. They don't try to change the local traditions, instead they feel privilege to embrace them.
I feel the Faroe island is a peaceful place to raise family, the place looks serene and peaceful, very natural, I will love to move here
Good place to hike and very quite I must say.
But it's always gray and cloudy, if you dont mind a cold weather then it can be a suitable place for you.
What many there say, its nice to grow up in and its nice to be old in. But anything in between besides settling down, get pretty boring.
It’s far from peaceful they slaughter whales
It’s not peaceful. They stalk, torture and murder dolphins out of the water with knives and let them suffocate. They even kill calves and pregnant dolphins. They are a bunch of underdeveloped inbreds that lack culture and real traditions

Hahaha)
Apart from loving the Faroes very much I also like their homes. They are so bright, clean, well organized and beautiful
The Filipinos will change all that. They will fences in their homes or put up what is called Sari Sari stores (mini stores selling all sorts of things). They will also sell food items in plastic bags outside churches on a Sunday. Unless, the locals will really strive to preserve the character of the island.

hmmm... why would they go to the Philippines?

@smadge100 you clearly never lived or heard about such a contro. but in the video one of them talk about Manila as being a dangerous place where often people get killed. i'm sure if you were born in such a place you would stay there still right? please....

It must be a real culture shock going from Manila to the little island. You go from a hot and busy city and land on a quiet and cold island.
This reminds me of Baguio and Batanes in the Philippines
Yes.

@Bárður that is what I understand from the video.
What is wrong in being feminine and keeping the house? Or a woman must be a new man?🙃

ALso probably the religion compatibility, most filipinos are Christians.

Can i ask you, what norwegians think about latinas??

Traditional marriages don't automatically mean abusive men and weak women. Yes, in some cases. But there's just as much trouble in "modern" marriages too 🙄. It's about mutual respect and both parties being happy with how they choose to live. More power to them.
