      I think that testing coolers still on 1700 in 2020 is pointless. I can cool that cpu on 3900MHz allcore with great temps even on some cheap decent coolers in AIDA FPU like 2nd hand Pentagram Karakorum that costs few bucks. Try the same with OCed/PBOed 3900X and 9900K you'll see that even Noctua has hard job. Just sell that 1700 and buy 3900X if you still want do cooler tests.

      I would try out this cooler, but like so many companies which are claiming their products are RGB Fusion 2.0 ready are forgetting that not all Gigabyte motherboards do come with the standard aRGB headers, but with their own proprietary VDG headers. If Scythe would include either provide an adapter cable for these headers or made the connectors like some do with 2 different kind of aRGB connectors, then I might consider it.

    Thanks for reviewing this. I've been after the Mugen 5 for a while but unfortunately, I'm only able to find this in the local market. One thing that stuck out for me was the depth towards the I/O. Your comment at the end makes it seem like it definitely needs to be installed with the cutout side towards the RAM to ensure it fits in an ITX case. How would you classify this compared to the regular MUgen 5 or the PCGH version? And how do you think it holds up to Noctua offerings like the U14s or the D15s if RGB isn't really a concern?
    Have you tried it in a case or mounted it after rotating it 180 degrees? Would be great to see how that works.

      True, it's a bit more expensive than the Mugen 5. But it also comes with two fans so I think that offsets it a little

    Your vid is really skilled shooting. I love its quality. At this point i want to see this channel grows with many subs so here is my suggestion, i hope you dont mind
    1. Choose other topics. You can still review hsf but i hope u are not stick with hsf only. Because, once some1 buys hsf they wont change it unless he is anthusiast, entry to mid pc user will stick with 1 cooler they bought.
    2. Making vids in youtube is like selling stuff or choosing what to sell. There always be a market. Yes it sounds like gambling but i dont have any doubt with your editing/shooting skills, your speaking delivery is also good tbh.
    3. Example of what topic u can choose. You can review anything thats related to gadget. Reviewing phones is also worth trying. Reviewing desktop peripheral is also ok since u can sell it again after u review or ask the vendor if they would lend you
    4. On top of that, i want this channel grow and you deserve more subs

    Hmmm, wondering which cooler to get for my 5800x. In my country, it's going for £75. But then I can get the NH-D15S Chromax for £15 more! Plus, the Dark Rock Pro 4 is £75 too, and is better in terms of cooling. I don't know which one to get! Kind of leaning towards the Noctua cooler, but not entirely sure. I'm pretty confident that I would want to keep the cooler for a very long time, so in that case that means it would go through several upgrades, and based on the fact that CPUs generally use more power each generation I'm thinking that the NH-D15 would be the better option, right? I mean, if the fans fail on it when out of warranty, I could just buy some new ones, right? Plus, I'd be setting myself up for future CPU generations in case there is a big power increase. Would love some help/feeback on this one, would even like some cooler suggestions if you have any!

    If it's a tight fit on most ITX MB's, why not install it the other way? It does have that notch to clear shorter RAM sticks if the MB has RAM on both sides of the CPU. Since I've never seen an ITX MB like that, and assuming you have the small form factor memory sticks, wouldn't that solve the problem somewhat?

    • @ponchato
      @ponchato  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually yeah, I think you could install it backwards so it'll fit. Case airflow would have to be backwards, but airflow's usually wonky in mini ITX cases anyway. Good idea!

  • @backpain100

    It seems like you can rotate the cooler 180 degree to help fit a 25m thick fan in an ITX mobo.

    • @backpain100
      @backpain100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did, sometimes it fits sometimes it doesn't, it depends on your case's and mobo's dimensions.

    • @backpain100
      @backpain100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your ram is low profile, it would fit fine.
      But I find out that installing 2x 120mm fans is not much better than 1 fan. You can use it with just one fan is still have the same performance. It is a good cooler for the price. I use it to cool a 4.8Ghz 8700K with no problem (temp at around 70-80c load), it's very quiet. They also come out with the black version if you want that color.

    • @backpain100
      @backpain100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @射進肚臍 yes, it's an itx mobo. I install it the normal way with just one 120mm fan. It works fine.

    • @backpain100
      @backpain100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @射進肚臍 Top and rear fans? Top case fans install just fine. Rear case fan do not fit with the itx NR200 case. That's what i'm using.

    • @backpain100
      @backpain100 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @射進肚臍 Both top case fans in NR200 in exhaust. I tried all config and found out the cooler in both gpu/cpu likes all their heat to be exhausted as quickly as possible. GPU run extremely cool because it's pulling fresh air from the bottom. The CPU run about 5-7c hotter compared to open air, but it is within limit so I was ok with that.
