  • 11s chain on SRAM FORCE 1 52t crankset.
Thanks to KAPPSTEIN Pro Line sprocket which is 11/128 so compatible with 11s chain for a SMOOTHER & LIGHTER drivetrain: -400g 😱

Apart from smoothness and ease of use (chain line is easier to get silent I guess?), What would be the benefits of choosing such a setup?
Vast range of cranksets to choose from? Repulsion from 144bcd ? Looks? "Because why not?"-mindset? 😁

Lightness above all. What’s possible is just taking a 11/128 144BCD chainring on your existing cranks and switching for an 11s chain and 11/128 cog. Which will save you about 100-200g. But the classic Track cranksets are heavy. Which is ok for purely Velodrome use. In street & crits, weight is very important IMO. Like RAKETA say, most track cranks are « old » while road cranks have evolved a lot and are lighter. Recent ones from ROTOR & RIDEA are lighter indeed but more expensive, actually, than a complete SRAM FORCE 1X GPX!!

    52 x 13. That's one big-ass gear!

ok for your usage I guess, but i dont think someone skidding should use that. Chain must be thougher on normal track gearing. Also chain must wear a bit faster being lighter.

I know a lot of people regularly riding up and down mountains, some of them brakeless, with the Kappstein 11/128" setup. So skidding is no problem. It's a little counterintuitve but since the components are manufactured with way more precision then track-components, in combination with a high quality 11/128" chain you actually have less wear because there is so much less friction in the whole system.

So the chainring is a normal road chainring (SRAM Force , 11-speed) and the sprocket is the narrow KappStein Pro? Together with an 11-speed road chain
    128cm length?

Yes exactly. Works wonderfully. Possible to put a KAPPSTEIN PRO LINE chainring (Raketa are doing that too) on a regular Track crankset, I did it on my Mielec with its Dura Ace 7700, fantastic. Dunno about the length of the chain, depends on your ratio.
