Hi! Did you "feel" de gemini more noisy because of the carbon? So normally could potencially be worse work of the transmission or loss watts? Did you ride some km to test the precision of the transmission? Mercy Mercy
@@gabrielmarias972 no watt loss no. Rode almost 1000km with it. All good. Smooth with a waxed chain. No chain skip. 0 problems. A bit more noisy than a light aluminum chainring with many « openings » because it is a full disc but less noisy than my aero aluminum chainrings!! (I got 2)

Shifter batteries...get the lithium version. They cost a bit more, but they last for last for 3+ years.

Whats the exact bottom bracket size for the sram red?
@@jacoserios depends on your frame. All you need to know for the SRAM RED axle is DUB (29.9mm) and then you choose a DUB Bottom Bracket that fits your frame. So for this frame, like most (almost all) fixie frame it is BSA 68mm threaded. So then buy a DUB BSA 68 bottom bracket. DUB is the axle width (for recent SRAM RED, Force, Rival etc) BSA 68 is the frame bb shell. The SRAM DUB BSA 68 are very affordable like $40 but there are Ceramic versions which cost more. Other BB brands offer DUB BSA 68 too.

@@faiznasruddin6596 seriously you’re comparing apples & foie gras. Disc brakes carbon bikes at 5,5 kgs would cost 15000€. To get down to that. I know ´cos I’ve got 3 disc brake bikes & 2 rim brake bikes. This one here cost me less than 2,000€ so your comment is utterly irrelevant. For an affordable aluminum track bike (the frame costs 500€ new FFS, not 5,000€ like a top tier superlight carbon frame) it is remarkable.

You need a special frame that’s compatible with belts, and they’re usually heavy commuters or bike-packing bikes

@@klick2destruct all urban crit fixies frames are aluminum. Big chunky carbon track frames are often HEAVIER than aluminum frames. That one is 1350g most carbon track frames are 1500g. Ain’t no light carbon track frames

@@SamuelBlackMetalRidercannondale hollowgram SI is 615g; for sram red, 53-39 is around 560g, 50-34 is 516g.
@@fukairen9601 depends if it the short BB30 version or longer PF30 version. BB30 version, released in 2012 is super light but axle is super short and won’t fit the Cannondale frame… PF30 would but it is heavier. I have seen many owners of Hollowgram SL who said 590g for their cranks.
@@SamuelBlackMetalRider PF30 is the bottom bracket, has nothing to do with the crank. I was talking about the first 11s red etap version launched in 2015or16, the spindle could fit 73mm width BB if you remove the adjusting ring. The 2012 version is quite heavier.
arent road chains weaker then track so when u skid at higher speeds wouldnt it have a higher chance of snapping
@@pydrofnx4374 no they are not weaker, road chains can endure 2,000W sprints no problem. I have 11s road chains on 2 of my track bikes, rode over 10,000km with them in Fast Group rides & brakeless urban riding, never had an issue. Works just fine
@@SamuelBlackMetalRider It's not really about the wattage per se. More about the torque going through the chain. There can be a ton of torque while skidding or starting from a deadstop.
What a weapon man! I am upgrading my fixie with 11 speed dura ace now and fully wax. It’s really surprising to feel the immediate difference versus 1/8” chain 😱 Also sometimes we forget but Kronos makes 3/32 chainring too, made in France 😎 compatible with 11s chains (I have the setup)

Great build down to the small details. What out front computer mount are you using on this build and what is the weight? Edit: just looked up the older video on this bike too and saw a spurcycle which is no longer on this build likely for weight and not fitting on the aero shaped bars. If you still want it there are bar end mounts which are very nice that I use for commuting. I got mine from shapeways but if you google spurcycle bar end you should find multiple examples and find the best place to buy if you are interested. I've found having the bell lever facing towards the frame works best unlike most photos which show it downward facing.
@@otterspacejam 45g it’s an Aliexpress knockoff of a GIANT one apparently. Cheap but reliable and it fits. Keep the Spurcycle on my commuter fixies. Training / race track bikes have none for the exact reasons you mention. I just SCREAM if necessary

That is stunning! Many great tips here, I have a Canyon Ultimate SLX rim bike on R9100 and got it down to 6,4kg with minimal effort and some Ali parts. With a wheelset like you have I can get it down to 5,9kg which is very tempting haha :P Thanks!

For my 50th I plan to build up a rim brake supersix evo. Hard to find a 52cm frame I won’t give up. I have the spider ring and dura ace 11 sp groupset

@@beecoal height from the BB? I’m 1m75 BTW. Sometimes I wish I had chosen a 54 tho hahaha my VENGE is a 54. At that time only 52 was available so went for it. Which is the right size for my height but 54 woulda been great too I know now

@@pydrofnx4374 most parts are 2nd hand, i buy EVERYTHING on sale/discount, plus many quality Chinese components. That groupset was 2nd Hand for instance. VENGE frame 2nd hand. Wheels cost me about 900€ only. All in all 1/3 of full RRP price
