Barbados is one of the most beautiful islands we’ve had the pleasure of visiting all while ensuring we spent time with our loved one. Mel and Mo, thank you for three great Barbados vlogs. I live in London and my parents were born in Barbados and I have enjoyed over 30 visits. Due to the pandemic, I haven't returned for over two years and watching your vlogs made me very homesick. Good bless you both and your families. We will keep your dad in my prayers. x

@Mel'nMo To beat the heat: 1. Open the windows! 2. Take tepid to room temperature baths rather than cold ones, then come out and air dry rather than towelling off. 3 Drink warm water periodically. And yes. The mauby also has a cooling effect!! We know it's an acquired taste though! It's also different from Trini mauby since we don't put star anise in ours.
In future, our coolest time is usually February when nights get as cool as 17 degrees Celsius. This is hurricane season right now. You came when Hurricane Sam was drawing all the moisture and wind so it was disgustingly hot!! We normally have steady breeze to balance the heat.
Next trip, try eating more spots where locals eat - even food vans - and while many places aren't fancy, you'll find better prices than more tourist oriented places and still good taste. "Cuzz Fish Shack" on Pebbles Beach is a great start! Let your Aunty hook you up with some roast breadfruit too!

PS: Re mosquitoes - Mix a couple drops oil of citronella (or geranium oil) in lotion or baby oil and put it on. They hate citronella! The portable rechargeable swatters that look like tennis racquets will be your friend if you come for a longer time.
Re: Boatyard That looks like it was "fishcake" you tried that Mel ate the rest of. They're made from dried salted cod a.k.a. "salt fish". And yes. Not beach ready? ERROR!! 😂Backpacks work!

Okay, I know this video is from a year ago, but I'm binging on some of your video's. The part #2 of your Barbados trip when you were sharing about your father, had me at work "literally fighting back tears!" I felt that and totally understood (I lost my father), very emotional. The support you two have for each other is amazing, NEVER stop. Cairo ... ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!

Not true aunty, there's people born and raised in the Caribbean but still don't like Mauby. I personally LOVE it but it's definitely what i'd call an acquired taste. I have family who don't care for it.

Use Tiger Balm for the mosquito bites it work wonders but next time you can apply a thin layer before going outdoors they don't like the scent and don't get it to wash your hands after or else you will forget and possibly rub your eyes. I used this trick when I was living in Thailand.
