If you owned the bike you can really get it stealthy. I own one and put a little time on it going through it to get rid of the rattles. It’s ghost silent now. All I hear is the tires and the suspension. It’s a great bike. Mine is dual purpose. Race dh on it and it’s my park bike. I just run single speed for park and it’s freaking ninja quiet. Also. Got a new subscriber. Great content man. Thanks.
Just found out on the chairlift today that Full Cycle rents DH bikes, so went home and booked one for tomorrow. Then I saw your video. Can't wait to try it!
I was just waiting for you to drop the chain, and then it happened. These bikes are on sale because they've developed a rep for dropping chains like crazy, something with the high pivot not being implemented as well as the Range for example. I just wouldn't do it, too much money to deal with that shit. Edit: Shore bikes are the dream bikes of my youth and I want them to be good, I want to want one, but can't justify it with a major design flaw
Good question, there are definitely a ton of differences. First off the wheels are 27.5 front and back where as the sight is a mullet. The wheelbase on both bikes is the same but the range is a bit easier to corner. The sight has a long reach and feels longer in general. The range is definitely more capable with the dual crown fork and longer travel numbers. All that said the shore is a park/DH bike made for going down hill. The sight is an all mountain bike that can get you up and down the hill multiple times.
I only own 27.5 bikes right now. I have a Trance and a Yeti SB165. I'm a shorter rider, so I love the playfulness. I understand why others my like 29ers or mullets, but they are not for me. Love your videos, keep up the great work. You are such an awesome rider!! Cheers
I found the s3 to be a tad too big and long for my riding style and the s2 is too small so I’m gonna try something that’s more of a middle ground in terms of geo. Stay tuned 👀
@@CapitalMTB Interesting. I'm close in height to you and when I heard you give the reach number on that Sight...I was thinking...No chance. Too big. That sucks. I feel like I am between a small and medium on a ton of bikes these days.
After riding this, the fluids, the sights, all the models. What’s your thoughts and advice for someone who’s looking to get a FS norco over the winter as a step up from a Fluid HT2. I’m 6’3” and the XL hardtail feels Loooooooooong so I really kinda of want to go with a 27.5 for a FS
If you want to go FS Norco in a 27.5 I’d try and grab a gen 4 Norco sight. If you can live with a mullet bike then definitely go for the Gen 5 (high pivot) sight. Both bike are good all rounders and I think at an XL a mullet would be plenty playful.
@@CapitalMTB thank you!! The sight is actually what I have my eye one, I rode bikes growing up but I left the sport for well over ten years so all the tech is way different, I don’t know if I want a high pivot so I was looking at the 2023 sights, I was also thinking of just getting a fluid FS a2 and beefing it up a bit. I feel the sight would be far better in every aspect and more future proof
@@CapitalMTB thanks so much for your input dude :) I’m only a few days into finding your channel as I’m laying in bed recovering from a riding injury on the long weekend, I really like how throughly you go through the bikes, you break it down in a way that is really enjoyable, also sweet editing styles man :) I’m in the GTA so maybe next year I’ll venture out to the capital and try to join up for a group event!

Right on! I’m tempted to snag a park version for myself next year but would really prefer it as a mullet 🤔

Have fun!
Super sweet to see you out at fortune today! You’re the man!! 🤙
🙌🏻 nice to meet you too!
My 27.5 doesn’t ride like that 🤣
Oh wait…it’s not the bike 😂
Love the pure joy and excitement you had 🔥
I try to bring a childlike sense of imagination and wonder to every ride 😄
As Bob the builder would say " it's going to be loud". Looking forward to seeing your new ride
Don't forget to come see our rental bikes at the end of season. Your chance to buy for a good price, a bike ridden by "beginners"! 😂😂

Interesting, that was the only chain drop I had and it seemed be from the rear end flexing from not bringing a whip fully back to centre. Bummer.
27.5 wheels ftw, i think they are best for mtb. 29 feels like a truck.
What is the most noticeable difference from the Norco Sight you were riding? Sweet video man.

@@CapitalMTB What size was this Norco Shore Park?

Thanks man! Having tried all the wheel sizes I think I’m definitely a 29er guy but on a smaller frame size so it’s still poppy and manoeuvrable.
Sick riding! Why'd you sell your Sight?

Look so fun !!
It was super fun!
This is Fotune? Don't remember it being so flowey....just a lot of tech
It is! They’ve been doing a ton of work over the past couple years.
Crazy what you can do on a downhill bike, riding downhill
Couldn’t have said it better myself 😂

Yeah I’d say the 2023 sight is the way to go then, the fluide will have you wanting more even if you beef it up.

Ah man sorry to hear that :(. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
It makes a lot of noise tho
Yes it does! I think the headset was shot..
