    My best climb time has been on the Wreckoning, but I’ve had similar times on most enduro bikes (Enduro, Sight, Wreckoning, Warden, Optic). So the 10-20% slower is how it affected my times. This isn’t meant to be scientific, so put away your lab coats 🥼.

      Curious exactly which climb trail that is on Burnaby Mountain. Can you let us know?

    • @VanCan

      Upper and lower sidewinder. I think the strava segment is called “sidewinder climb complete” or something like that.

    I love these bike reviews because you actually ride the bikes on the super gnarly chunky terrain that these big bikes were built and designed for. There are too many bike reviews out there where they ride big long slack enduros on blue flow/xc trails

    • @hazza788
      @hazza788 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Reviewers be like: Aha yes we have ridden this bike for a month on flat trails in arizona and we rate it a 4/10 due to it weighing more than our 25 pound downcountry bikes.

    • @-tr0n
      @-tr0n 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Absolutely. They take it out on a pumpy flow trail for DH testing. Like, I could be riding a rigid bike on those trails!

    My takeaway from this video and the pink bike field test is that I don’t need a high pivot bike …
    Also 20% more time to climb is massive in my opinion

      @@kevinkunst4822 in this case, pivot is the point where the rear swing arm rotates, when being compressed, oftentimes near the bottom bracket, but here it’s elevated = high pivot point

    Looks like an awesome bike! I have a sorta similar bike in the Evil Insurgent full 27.5 version. 180/170 with a coil and it's meant for park/freeride. I ride a lot of park but it also pedals great for a big bike. I just did a 37 mile, 3600 ft of climbing epic last week. The difference is the Insurgent isn't quite as slack and the wheelbase is a little shorter. It can definitely handle double blacks but retains some playfulness. And you can flip chip it for an even steeper HTA and STA if you do want more trail and less freeride. The Shore looks more single focused, it's a big, slack plow bike and doesn't try to be anything else. :)

    If your someone running two quality bikes it’s seems like your better off having either a trail bike/DH combo or maybe a enduro/DH if your local trails are more aggressive. The last option I could see being really viable would be XC/enduro
    I just don’t really see where a bike like this fits in if it’s not pedal-able for a single bike… What benefits does the shore have asides from being able to pedal slightly better than a downhill bike?

    • @liambaulman
      @liambaulman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have owned mine for about 4 months and they are awesome climbers, they have no pedal bob when you are climbing fire roads but endless traction in tech climbs, they are also stupid fast on the downs. Its my only bike and I highly recommend it

    • @mrvwbug4423
      @mrvwbug4423 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it depends on where you live. If you live near a lot of gnarly, freeridey stuff this bike makes sense, especially if you have to pedal up to your favorite lines. Or if you want a 1 bike solution but live next to a bike park. For most people an AM bike like a Ripmo, Hightower or Sentinel or smaller enduro bike like the RM Altitude makes more sense as a one bike solution. In BC the Shore might make sense, in Colorado it doesn't make any sense.

      @@VanCan yep, only he ran a trek session - short reach, no high pivot and 26/27.5 mullet. I just dont understand the way industry wants to push the consumer long, big bikes. Smaller bikes are much more fun to ride if youre not into Strava times.

    Those wheels aren't carbon, what happened to only riding carbons? looks like you rode aluminum just fine...

      It’s not my bike and funny enough, after riding it for a few days, the rear had spokes that were so loose they were about to fall out as well as needing a major true.

      @@VanCan yea those are a stock set of e*thirteen rims which don't have very many great reviews about them and mainly complaints

    Good bike, but I'd still not buy anything 27.5 ... I would be interested if they made tht with 29ers and maybe just 150mm of travel

      Norco make the sight which has 150/160mm of travel. That would be your bike
