I understand about it worse coming out as an atheist than coming out as gay. I was scared to tell my mum I’m trans but I still haven’t told her I’m an atheist.

But why? Atheism is way better than pretending there is a God! Isn`t she just going to figure that you're damned already, lol? Or is an atheist an actual devil-worshipper to her Doctrine? I personally am a Universalist so nobody is damned. Good luck!

In grade school and junior high (mostly 1950s) we had to kneel at the door in front of the teacher and our skirt had to touch the floor. And we HAD to wear skirts/dresses. You could wear slacks under your skirt on really cold/snow days, but had to take them off immediately when you walked in the school door. Teachers were there to check the girls out.

Why do they hate women, or at least have to keep them down? Does the Bible instruct them to do this? Definitely! I think they fear that the Goddess will return and destroy their cult of ritual blood sacrifice. And The Venus of Willendorf will spread peace, love, happiness, truth, justice, freedom, liberty, democracy, equality, equity, compassion, empathy, kindness, logic, integrity, honesty, forgiveness, education, acceptance, and tolerance throughout the Universe! The Goddess used to rule the world 26,000 years ago and at other places and times. I`m an agnostic, atheist, antitheist, secular, humanist, eclectic, Wiccan, satanist, and Unitarian Universalist, but I really like the idea of The Sacred Feminine; I always recommend getting a new God when talking to Xians because I usually explain in great detail exactly how EVIL their God is. And it`s like, out of all the gods, goddesses, deities, and higher powers, why did you have to choose the absolute worst one, lol? Have they considered Venus Aphrodite or Easter? Sorry for too many words, lol! Great video, Seth, and wonderful, guests, thanks for posting! Peace & love! 🎄The 9 worlds Tree of Life, Yggdrasill! Happy, Yule Solstice!

    My poem for witches:
    *JUDGE YEA NOT*
    Dancing in the moonlit air,
    A summer sabat night.
A coven full of witches fair,
    Practicing a rite
They gather round the circle there, And raise the cone of power.
Then dance around in widdershins, that thirteen petaled flower.
    Their altar and their athames.
    Their potions and their charms
    The witches they enchant me.
They mean to us no harm.
But no longer shall the moonlit air touch their naked skins.
For their magic art and fertility rites,
    Have been declared a sin.
Nine million died in hell on earth and in the name of god. Tried in courts presided by,
    JUSTICE JUDGE YEA NOT.
So don't speak to me of sin my friend,
    With bloodstains on your hands.
Don't speak of turn the other cheek,
And rape us on our lands.
You don't have to scowel and shriek you know, like a vampire in the sun,
At the witches on their sabbat night and their idea of fun.
    I loathe your hypocritic ways,
    But thats your karma friend.
You to yours and me to mine
    Blessed be. The end.

Wicca is a theistic religion specifically; however witchcraft can be atheistic. If I'm not mistaken though, there may Wiccans that only worship the god and goddess as sort of archetypes?
I'm a practicing witch myself, and I don't believe in anything outside of the laws of nature. There are actually a quite a few witches like me who practice though using open label placebo. It's very cathartic, and a lot of fun!

    • @Stacy_AtHomeMom

Absolutely! I am also a pagan witch. I belive all pantheons of deities were created by man. Also, most healers were practicing medicine that were available to them. Pagan practices are nature based and follow the cycles of the year. I see spellcraft and ritual as the placebo effect and manifestation and yes, so much fun!

The craziest and most American thing I've heard in while was Jessica's insistence that her family wasn't Christian but were Catholic. That's just a false statement in reality but in the American/Americanized cults it's normal. It's a curse in Canada lately and not just restricted to religious culture. It's not good.

As a combat veteran I know there's a mentality you have while in country and there to do a job, but looking back I never hated anyone... But religion is purely the reason for war and conflict... So my biggest reason for accepting that I am and have always been an atheist is that without religion and religious chest pounding, we wouldn't have wars, we probably wouldn't have had 9-11. These lovely ladies are great guests, thank you for being the truest you!

    • @TheFeldhamster
      @TheFeldhamster 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

We would still have wars because conflicts about culture and resources and delusions of grandeur are still a thing. Just look at Russia attacking Ukraine, it's not about differences between their respective versions of Orthodox Christianity.
But at least we'd save ourselves these wars that are caused by religion. Every reason less to go to war is a good thing.

Just to add an early historical perspective on witches.
The term originally referred to the 'priests' of Anglo-Saxon Paganism and was spelled 'wicca' for male and 'wicce' for female wizards, and the plural was 'wiccan' [the 'cc' became 'cch' in Middle English and 'tch' in Modern English and was a hard 'ch' sound]. The term developed its negative connotations after the Englisch converted to Christianity as a way to demonise those who still followed the old beliefs.

God, the whole measuring of skirts bit reminded me of when I was in middle school, our dress code had a "flamingo test" for shorts and skirts, where you'd raise your calf perpendicular to your thigh and if it touched you were good. The dress code sucked for other reasons (no tshirts, a super narrow selection of permissible colors, no sneakers or open-toed shoes but the no open-toed shoe I can at least understand for safety reasons), but that one was probably the most ridiculous. This was _public school_ so I can only imagine how much worse it gets in religious schools even beyond what you guys brought up...

Also, I think the song is "I Ain't Gonna Grieve My Lord no more", and as a kid I sang it in elementary music class (at a public school, no less!). I never heard the mini skirt/little flirt verse, though. So now, thanks to this wonderful, enjoyable conversation (which I loved!), I am left with an earworm that is this old song from my childhood, but worse, bc now there's this horrible new verse. In religious videos I always love to ask this question.
Can anyone guess what religion these commandments belong to?1. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
    2. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
    3. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
    4. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
    5. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.
    6. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
    7. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

I watch WETA UK, and they DID show a series, "Coupling" with a central cast of three men and three women, where there can be no question that for instance in "The Best Friend's Bottom" the said best friend of the man's lover comes out of the said lover's shower to answer a phone call our hero has made by accident . She has her back to him, drops her phone, and drops the towel, clearly in full sight. We know he sees it all, but we see none of it! That and the conversation when she realises he's right behind her are hilarious.
What I detest, in equally good videos where the camera does show nipples and buttock cleavages, and the video has pixellated them, annoy me as being more prurient than showing us what the camera sees. It should be considered insulting to mess up what the woman has consented to show to the camera.

It is a sad irony how a religion so vocal about "morality" = can be so sex-obsessed...... It took priests to teach mankind about "shame" - shame of themselves in a world where all is supposed to be a reflection of their "Gods' design".

It's understandable in the ancient, pre-industrial, illiterate word-of-mouth world, ...but in the age of networked instant telecommunication, we can all agree there is NO SUCH THING.

The whole problem here is that we're interpreting the past based on today's principals. Today a sleazy man is just the same as a sleazy woman; there's no difference. The relative roles of men and women 2000 years ago were not intended to suppress women, but rather to stabilize families and let them actually survive. Practicality 2000 years ago demanded that men primarily were providers, and women primarily took care of the children. 2000 years ago those were based on biology, plain and simple. Do people actually think that life was just great for men 2000 years ago, and women were the only ones oppressed? I have news for you: men were miserable and women were miserable just as much. I know of no Christian today that believes that women for some reason need be held to a different standard than men when it comes to sexual promiscuity, nor that women need to be clothed 'differently' compared to men.

First, I am NOT trying to prove my point, not entrap you or any other weird motivation, nor being facetious, or didactic, I assure you. I am simply asking questions. Whether a person is Christian, Atheist, or believes in The Flying Monkeys, I believe we have an inherent right to our belief system, so I do not challenge your beliefs. That is a basic human right, and who can say that is right or wrong. One thing many, including Christians do not do is a) have a complete thought process on matters, and 2) have an inability to answer directly, without skirting, etc. I am asking for YOUR thoughts, not to disprove Christianity, please.
Why am I asking you this? You are actively professing your platform so I want to hear your thoughts., not prove or disprove you.
I have three questions to really think about and answer: 1) What is an "atheist", i.e. beyond the simple answer that you don't believe the Judeo-Christian story or God?
    2) Why have you spent so many years examining, focusing and professing the lunacy of a book you do not believe in. That is, what motivates you-are you looking for followers, exposing the truth, anything? What is your end-game? Very few are such authorities on ideologies they don't believe in or adhere to, so what do YOU believe in? Forget the tenets of the Bible and tell what your platform is, rather than what it isn't. That way people can make their mind up. (Please do not give me answers like "logic, reason etc." That is a right-side/ left-side brain thing. I am asking what an atheist belief system is, in respect to your tenets, etc..)
And 3) If you profess the errancy of the Bible, do you exemplify this is your daily life? (I am not talking about unlawfulness such as murder or silly things such as mixing fibers, etc.) Without any sanctimony attached to anything, do you lie, do you fornicate/have multiple partners, swear, have gay sex, live a life that demonstrates opposition and disbelief in these tenets? People will know you by the "fruit you bear". In all fairness, that applies to atheists too, I believe. How are you living out what you profess or in this case, dispute?.
To that last remark, whether you do or not, If so, why and if not, why? If you do the things of the Bible, are you not inadvertently adhering to it, at least in some subconscious level? This can be a dichotomy. Before you start, I am not talking about living like an ancient culture. Our laws and moral attributes are Judeo-Christian, not saying that is good. It is our modern world. Can you please answer these directly?

"Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near." Isaiah 55:6. "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
