- This is from 2001, and is possibly the first show ever played by them as "Coheed and Cambria" (rather than the previous name, Shabutie"
Note: I did not take shoot this video, nor do i claim it to be mine. - เพลง
Those people in the crowd have no idea what just happened.
I saw them about a year before this when they were still Shabutie. I can confirm that seeing them around this time was like, what just happened, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Had never seen or heard anything like them at the time. There was about 20 people in the crowd, and most of my usual buds didn't make that the show, so I had to describe to them what I saw and words just don't really do it.
Pro tip : watch movies on instaflixxer. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Samuel Neil yup, been using InstaFlixxer for years myself =)
@@CommanderReplay lol wtf. Did not expect to be going down memory lane and see you here! Cheers, loved your videos for quite a while.
@@inquisitorofkozilekgames4478 Oh yeah I was absolutely blown away the first time i saw them somewhere around 2000. Back then it was hard to get a hold of music and I remember emailing their manager saying I need their music....a guy named Ashton Holmes who is now a famous actor.
i love when he says "we're coheed and cambria" and there's maybe five claps from the audience
Boy how the times have changed
I love how eager Claudio is to use his voice in these old videos. Whether he crackles or not he goes for it one hundred percent.
These songs. This album. In my opinion is some of the best songs ever written.
Watching Claudio in this stage of his career when he was starting out gives me hope for my own music.
How'd that turn out?
@TMCS You can never succeed without trying first
Christ this performance is so rough but having been to and played a lot of tiny shows, that chaotic show energy is incredible.
Agreed I miss the 3/4 empty bars and lounges but man it was fun
This is a perfect moment in music history.
So much emotion.
So awkward.
So sloppy.
So perfect.
So rare.
Such a shame.
When they do that drop in the into of Delirium Trigger...chills
I love the way they all spaz out when Delirium Trigger starts. So much enthusiasm!
THEY LOOK LIKE THEY'RE HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!!!
yeah
They had that At The Drive In energy.
still here, 2019.
People at these early concerts were truly witnessing WORLD HISTORY happening
Its awesome how you can tell what he wanted time consumer to sound like; its the same to this day but he just doesn't have the voice yet. He must have worked so hard to come to the point he's at now, it shows.
Great vocal coaching by whoever he/she is
Wow, his voice really improved over the years. These days live he's pretty much flawless.
I love watching their old footage. theres something rad about how new it all was.
Delirium Trigger is my favorite song and to be able to watch a video from 2001 is pure GOLD. Got goosebumps 6:08 ... Thanks for sharing! 🤟
It's also my favorite track by them.
Samesies
That's 10 minute of pure gold such a valuable video
Claudio's voice has improved immensely since then.
I believe he used smoke cigs and stopped because it affected his singing voice. Maybe that was his crutch all along.
Fuck, this is gold! Crowd had no idea these guys would be legends today.
Delirium Trigger one of my favorite songs from Coheed and cambria, awesome preformance here
I can't believe these songs, songs that i love and speak to me so much and so strongly, are over 10 years old. well over 10 years old. and They still sounds so beautiful and amazing.
Could you imagine? Being that close to them now while they are playing? I was at their show in Vegas and I talked to them all (Except Claudio, who flew in from a comic con before the concert) and it was like nothing--they were normal people, but the moment they got onto that stage, put their instruments on, I thought I was standing before the Gods of rock.
Can you say star struck?
Was the show poolside?! Hardrock? I was there! I love Coheed🖤💛
its so cool to see them this young and unknown. when they started playing delirium trigger the crowd was silent but if you hear that intro now the crowd response id deafening. i love coheed!!
i definitely prefer their older songs. It just seems so original to me. Nobody would ever think of the riffs or songs that they made. Definitely one of my most favorite bands of all time.
This is proof, no band starts off as the mega giants they morph into with hard work and dedication. Still super bad ass to see this, makes me feel more comfortable in my own music abilities.
@TheMrCaptainStfu You take your own profile name advise.
@TheMrCaptainStfu Again, where applying your name would resolve this.
The captain of not taking his own advice.
@TheMrCaptainStfu Do your job Captain. You have 1 job. 1. I will court martial you.
Dude I'm all the way here in 2020, and I still enjoy these guys.
4:06 "hey is it cool if the delay is any lesser?" in nice guy Claudio voice. two seconds later: RAAAAAAAAWR
What a difference nearly 20 years can make.
I love seeing them like this, even if this isn't the best sounding performance. You can see A LOT of the seeds of greatness here.
when they start playing delirium u can really see they were influenced by at the drive-in
Definitely
That’s absolutely correct.
@@michaeltodd6550 hey mic do you miss being in coheed
@@michaeltodd6550 hope you’re doing well
@@michaeltodd6550 Hope you're doing well Mic, love your work with the band!
Seeing a band that would go on to be such pros fucking up so much gives me a lot of hope for my own playing.
Seriously magical, like even the mess ups are like... wierdly gold, it's like they just keep trucking. So inspirational. Coheed got me through so many dark days being alone, in my head, growing up. I will never forget those days, they helped shape me into an open minded human with a soul😄
the drums sound really good. I am glad that Josh is back
Such a clean and at time complex sound. Learned all the early songs and relearning them today
this is very cool to hear that claudio didnt quite start out all proficient at singing. gives me alot of confidence in my own singing skills to hear one of my favorite bands sounding like a typical but awesome garage band.
+Sprong4 to be fair playing live while youre music is still new for you and singing is hard as shit. even if you can sing perfectly without playing and instrument, you have to relearn to sing while playing.
Also to be fair they are playing in a fucking cafeteria not a room purposely made to play music in lol
Claudio also used to smoke cigs and stopped to improve his singing. I think we can say that it worked.
one of my favorite songs of all time...if it plays i stop what I'm doing and air drum every second of it...i just can't not do it...it has to happen!! thanks for sharing this rare video...just what i was looking for...
Just got back from 2022 AWOTWM show...
The amount of work and dedication to get from here to what I just witnessed is absolutely mind blowing. These guys will always have my deepest respect, and I'm proud to be a child of the fence for the last 15 years 💙
I hope this video endures long after we're gone and is unearthed by the next civilizations.
It's so aspiring to see a band at their beginnings when they didn't have a good sound team and made mistakes and stuff and still kept going and then continued to improve and get so popular after 20 years. I wish I could have started a band sooner knowing we'd just have to keep at it to get like C&C.
Gotta say, there fan-base has no doubt grew 10+ fold. However, I wouldn't call them popular. They have a few SONGS that are VERY POPULAR. I still think they are not as big as they should be.
@@jakeydeefpv they've completely filled up every venue I've ever seen them play at and they move exponentially more merch than bands twice as popular as them. They're all certainly multimillionaires. They're about as big as you can get before you're only playing stadiums and headlining festivals.
I love that they still put this much energy into their performances.
This is amazing! My two favorite songs, raw and uncut! Thank you so much for uploading!
i wish i listened to good music like this when i was 8 yrs old
This is fucking mental to see with my own eyes
jesus. im glad i watched this video again.
The picture of hardwork and lots of practice.
Coheed went from this to mega-stardom.
I love seeing these kind of videos, I'm in a band and we're just now starting to play shows, and it's good to see that even the bands we look up to had to start somewhere.
i love this video of them at first i didnt reconize mike and travis but now i do and they are brilliant love them when they were unknown and love them now!
This video has always gotten me thru some hard times. Forever my favorite versions
I saw them in 2001 or 2002. Had no idea what I was listening to. Didn't become a fan till a year later and didn't even realize what I was listening to till years later. I wasn't even paying attention to them
Been watching this video for a decade, never gets old.
delirium trigger is among my favorite songs ever
Damn, no one knew that these guys would become fucking huge and play some of the best music to ever be played. That be awesome to be there, knowing what they would become.
Dear Claudio dear claudio its 2022 still epic
just to anyone who is wondering this is definitely josh playing, time consumer was written after nate left
idonteatcheetos they also changed their name when josh joined so anytime they played under coheed was with josh
Yeah but a couple songs carried over. One thing I can tell you is that intro beat was the first thing we played the first time josh sat down to jam with us in my parents basement. And just the sound of his kick and the swagger.. claud and I looked at each other and were like “holy shit..”. Look at me. Creeping. At my age.
@@michaeltodd6550 That's awesome dude, I always thought you and Josh had a special chemistry and it really showed when you guys played together. Those early Coheed albums are my favorite albums of all time. Thanks for all the good music.
I don't understand why people say this performance sucks. I understand it's not as polished as the songs and videos we are used to seeing of this great band, but this music is so much better and original than the stuff I hear down her ein the south that I'd think it was classic if I was there
Videos like this are the reason people should make sure they support their local bands. Don't be ashamed to hit up a gig at a local community center, church, high school, garage, whatever, even with like a dozen in attendance. You never know who you'll have a chance to see before they blow up and change lives, and more importantly it'll show you a whole new side to the music and the comradery that comes with it. Coheed sounded like ass here but so did my friends' band at first and they're growing
Sweet. I saw them play at Westcott Community Ctr. in Syracuse, NY around the same time as this show I think.
They played at Westcott!!! Shit i'm envious- that's awesome. Didn't hear of the band until ~2004, but lived a 10 min walk away from Westcott in 2002..
its awesome to see them so early...they've definitely grown but you can tell that they were gonna become somethin big in this video
could you just imagine being there at that time...."we have a table over ther with some stuff on it."
Great video. Love watching early shows from bands.
yea i definately agree that their music has progressed so much further than anyone of us could have ever imagined. i was basing my statement off performances alone, not the music. the music has really matured, but you dont see them rockin out as hard as they used to.
Love it!! I haven’t seen anything from this far back. It’s weird to not see Claudio’s flowing Mane
it's amazing to see how far they've come...
I don't know if this is possible but his sounds even higher than it does currently. They are great, I can't even comprehend how they put music together like that! This is when Claudio rocked the SG + Flying V, this is super early. Great post!
excellent stuff, thanks for posting.
I am watching it like it is this golden piece of history im just so focused it feels great just to watch this
Man that energy is so addicting
i like how claudio has always had the same stage presence even in what apears to be quite a small venue
DUUUUDE!! That was totally sweet at the start of Delirium Trigger!
they're so young, it rocks. they're my all time favorite
Jesus what a relic! Happy it showed up on my suggestions. This would be one of their earliest performances right?
The earliest recorded
@@jarg7 it sure sounds like it. awesome to see them so rough here
Oh God this sends shievrs done my spine
I heard about them a year ago :(
holy hell.. i just saw them last week in Dallas and it's crazy how much they have gotten better :P for some reason i just thought they were always perfect. It was the best show I've ever been to in my entire life haha it would have been crazy awesome to have seen them back at the beginning, even with some vocal mishaps and a small fro :D
Look how far we’ve come ❤
I had a chance to see them right around this time in Eastern Mass. at a VFW with Moment. I looked at the Flyer and was like. "Coheed and Cambria that sounds like a cool name for a band"...haha, I never went. I've been kicking myself since. Although I did see them open for Thrice(pre Artist in the Ambulance) and Hot Water Music which was amazing.
man it is so weird seeing this. They look sooo young. But still rock.
what in the fucking fuck this is GOLD!!!! 2 fantastic songs I love back to back! from 2001 no less jesus! thank you!
i wish they'd make more songs in drop d again
They were so new that Claudio even had to change his amplifier without a pedal. Thats freaking cute. Went from sour notes, messing up singing and slightly off timing to One of the best story tellers in music.
I'm really glad that Mic realized that the bandana is not his thing.
That was... awesome. So much energy. (from the band) That was great. :) I wish they had shown Josh at least a little bit tho.
I love Claudio, Mic, and Josh but Travis will always have my heart more than the others. :D " GOD! GOD! GOD! GOD! "
Coheed and Cambria Forever.
i met the band in southampton and spoke about this video and theve seen it and remmeber the days when claudio had an sg :P
wasab, I've seen them live several times over the last couple years and am about to again and they rock out every time. Hell theres parts in their set that I'm amazed how Claudio hangs on to his guitar and it doesn't go flaying off of him. And now that Travis has long hair he get's a ton of headbanging action going.
its funny to see how far they have come...

My oh my, his voice cracked more times than I could count. But awesome, regardless. It's good to see how a band progresses through the years.
Meow.

INCREDIBLE!!!
I love this =]
Its mental!
this is awesome they're so young hehe
I was 11 when this shit was in the works...mind blowing.
Ohh man just look where they are now. This is such an important footage!! Nice seeing how far has Claudio's voice improved.
But they looked so small as a band. Must be Claudio's hair hahahaha
Playing an sg live? thats old school there.... thanks for posting this
even when they started they still had such fucking energy...like they knew this was all going to happen
Roller, Claudio hits notes that most men physically can't no matter how hard they try, and not only that but he has to do it almost every night for however long of a tour they may go on. Try singing at the same pitch that he does for one song and your throat is soar as hell, now imagine doing that as often as he does. He has to hold back or he'll blow them. Robert Plant did the same thing.
This is awesome
my god, the emotion he infuses these songs w/ live...C&C are AMAZING!!!
Claudio's showmanship has always been amazing, utilizing gain tricks with his voice or playing with his teeth since the start!
Wow, that was great!
they look so different! but even with Claudio's shirt hair u can always tell its him. Thanks :)
I wish I could have experienced this!!! D:
this is legendary, pay homage
Seeing this video really shows how great they became they are the best band I know of!
