If he only knew almost 20 years later, people would be paying hard earned money to chill with him and his band on a fucking cruiseliner, where they were top bill amongst their peers. What a treasure this guy and the music they create are.

I pretty much came here to say this. I saw them play in some hole in the wall right before the second stage hit, and since i've seen them at least 200 times, was lucky enough to play the eastern leg of warped tour one year and got our slot changed so I could watch them play each time. Coheed has quite literally saved me through every major life trial i've had.

It's crazy to hear how his vocal runs and tendencies in Backend of Forever here are very similar to Shabutie. It's weirdly nostalgic to hear.
It's also so crazy to hear how little confidence he has here, especially with how influential some of these songs he plays become.

12:49. Even to this day, Claudio still goofs up a little like this, and it's just so refreshing to see. Just went to their show last night in St Paul MN, and for the VIP ticket holders (Prise), we got 1 early accoustic song where they played Guns and Roses Sweet Child O' Mine. Claudio messed up a chord or something but recovered flawlessly. No musician is perfect, and I really value the humility and recovery. Not to mention his sheer artistry with these songs. I couldn't imagine trying to play these complicated songs AND sing. Sheesh.
holy, he's really a genius at that age.... be able to create a song that is so melodic and technical at the same time with Impressive story telling lyrics, it just wow. And here we are now 20 years after and his creativity is still overflowing.

Time Consumer such a percussive and rhythmically driven song. Of their entire library it might be my favorite.

This footage is absolutely incredible. The video tech then wasn’t great nor was the sound. This is steady/clear and sounds AMAZING! Claudio is like Maria, a fucking shining star!
