Song is a perfect example of a classic Coheed song and honestly might be their best work imo. The Second Stage Turbine Blade is an absolute masterpiece of musicianship, period. No skips, no weak songs. Start to finish damn near perfection.
Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. This is my ultimate number 1, hands down. At 9 am or 10 pm at night like right now, standing in the cold outside smoking a cig, perfection. That's it.
Yeah, I forgot how awesome this album was...but thinking about the lyrics is kinda upsetting. Every single song has kinda a 'molestation' element to it. It's throughout all of Second Stage Turbine. I'm not exactly sure what he is trying to say. I want to like these songs, because they are incredible, but the lyrics are kinda icky when you think about them.
They are truly masters of their craft. They take their music and imagery so seriously. They use tight click tracks live too, the band is so fucking tight live its beautiful. Everyone screaming the end of IKSOSE3 is some of my favorite moments ever
My GOD I just randomly had this pop up and haven't clicked on anything so fast in my life. I used to adore this song, and it hasn't gotten any worse in the years it's been. This song will forever hold a special place in my heart, even when I unintentionally let it slip my mind.
So concisely accurate 🖤 I remember listening to this when I was being fracking oppressed lol truly tho. I was sent to one of those programs shortly after. I think I got one of Claudio’s drumsticks at a show, soma back in the day in SD. The bass of this song. The darkness, the dysfunctional chaotic energy is authentic but upbeat enough to live and even talk out to God… 🥀🌹
There both amazing! This song sounds so mysterious and Welcome Home has that great solo in the beginning. But yeah this song is probably way better and just overall more beautiful.
Currently on a nonstop trip through this band's discography but taking my time as I go... Discovered good apollo im burning star IV first and listened to that nonstop, now I've made my way back to the start and this whole album is fucking mindblowing. Throughout the day I keep wanting to just scream OH DEAR GOD, I DON'T FEEL ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!! The drums on this song in particular are so mesmerizing. I love the tight garbage sounding snare, and the double snare hits in that chorus are just amazing!

I come back to this song because I often get the phrase "parasitic cyst" stuck in my head and forget where I heard it so I look it up and find this song again and again 😂😂

VINYL RE-RELEASE WHEN?? EDIT: Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure I info you that Equal Vision repressed the vinyl this year and I was able to get one.
The bridge riff is so badass in this song that in Hideous Divinity’s Death Metal cover, it’s basically unchanged. In a fucking Death Metal track… that’s how insanely awesome that riff is. Slots right in and sounds cool AF as is…
So interesting story. Someone did a mashup of all the Alien movies(Prometheus included) and put this song to it. The song fit so we'll the lyrics followed the scenes with every word, for example "Parasitic cyst, I can't. Stand to watch. It's coming up and out of your chest. " As the chest burster emerged from one of the crew members in the first Alien. Well it's Gone! Some asshole took it down for what reason I don't know but I desperately want it back
I'm pretty sure Claudio Sanchez stated that this song was written to be about the first Alien movie and was later re-contextualised as an Amory Wars song.
And it’s not even Josh Eppard like most people assume or expect, it’s their original drummer Nate Kelley. Superbly talented, as clearly shown here in song , but not nearly as well known or with nearly the accolades or the artistic credits.
No, tons of bands ahead of C&C. Especially if we are talking about "ever". Ahead of C&C are bands like Black Sabbath, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Led Zeppelin, Parliament/Funkadelic, The Grateful Dead, Metallica, Voi Vod, Iron Maiden, Ministry, certainly TOOL, and more. And, this is just bands under the genre of "progressive". C&C's music is tight as hell, but they are lyrically shallow. I like them, but they are way down on my list. ME TOO!!! Literally how I ended up here after not hearing this song since high school (2008!)
There's something really nostaligic, almost video-game like about the clean guitar arpeggio at the start, i can't explain why.
