  • In this video I’ll show you how to reseal the vacuum pump on your Dodge Ram
These are very common to leak, with the main culprit being the double lip seal, when they go it will coat the underside of your truck in oil and most often look like everything else is leaking.
In a future video I’ll go over how you can delete the vacuum pump entirely, with some alternative options as well as go over the vacuum system in the dodge trucks

I had to replace my power steering pump and then the shaft seal of the vacuum pump inside of the little adapter piece. Started to leak like crazy right away so I went and got a seal kit and replaced it by watching your video perfect video but when I went to go bolt power steering pump on the vacuum pump I did not notice that that seal came loose and slid forward towards the little + looking adapter piece, even though I hit it with a hammer and a socket like you said when I put it all back together, oil started to pour out of there so I had to take everything back out and find that that seal didn’t fit quite right in there so I RTV it in to get me home because I was stuck at work, what do you suggest?

Yup, or even just a vacuum leak, I’m not entirely sure of how it all works but when the vacuum pump has no… vacuum it makes air in the engine somehow

@@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge hey I got it all sorted out. Well I decided to rebuilt my engine and $3000 into parts and new cylinder head etc. find out that lmao I still got blow by. Then I found out that my vaccine Lines are cut under the 4x4 unit 😂 so got it all sorted out last week. Runs like a champ now. Bit sad I spent 3k on it but at the same time it’s practically a new engine. Now doing a manual swap. Picked up a parts truck. Going the nv4500 swap route

      Oil leak
Low vacuum will be the vanes inside the vacuum pump possibly being damaged. Or a vacuum leak somewhere else

How is the gear side sealed from sucking oil in to the vacuum side

I think it’s made such that oil is allowed to drain into the gear side/vacuum side
