Lack of good enemy variety is one of those things that always kill a game for me, specially in open worlds. It's a bummer that this game suffers from this, specially considering how much potential for creature variety the greek mythology has.
I knew that this game took a lot of inspiration from BotW, but the low enemy variety was one of the things that game was most heavily criticized for -- weird that they didn't focus on improving that aspect after all the feedback.

This game looks a lot better than I imagined it would be, sadly the greek mythology setting doesn't appeal to me that much, got tired of it after AC Odyssey
Same. After spending 100+ hours in Odyssey, it's really hard to justify spending another 30-40+ in this game. It seriously looks exactly like Odyssey except with a more cartoony style. The combat looks the same, the enemy types look the same (cyclops, minotaur, other greek mythology monsters), and even the ui and menus look straight out of Odyssey. The only things that I see different are that the main questline looks less serious than Odyssey (though Odyssey had a LOT of less serious sidequests) and the BotW-like shrines. And if you end up going to places that you went to in Odyssey/dlc, like Elysium or the Underworld, it's going to get old fast if you've already played through those locations in Odyssey. I mean in this review alone ive seen shots of the columns or broken pillars, the flora, the architecture, the stonework, the forts, and the statues and I feel like ive already played this game before.
I also recommend Hades. Playing Hades made me hungry for more Greek mythology and I was never interested in it beforehand. The music, combat, art direction and character writing are second to none.
Glad this game was done well, as I have been looking forward to this Zelda like game for the PS4 since I first saw the trailer long ago. Glad you all said it was a fun solid adventure romp

This might be my most anticipated PS5 title. It's BotW, but runs at 60fps on console, has a deeper combat system, and is set in a cartoony Greek mythology world...it's the God of War open world game I always wanted.
The 30 hour length (non-completionist) is such a huge plus in my book. I'm 105 hrs into Odyssey and there's no way I'm going to invest near that much time in another game anytime soon.

In this game, Fenyx has as many if not more gameplay options than the 4 characters you control in Genshin since only a few buttons are used in combat. There's also the fact that Genshin is a mobile gacha game and keeping you on the hamster wheel is the whole point.
Great review! Fortnite and WOW, made single player games with this cartoony look not click for me anymore unless they are effectively stylized. Feels like AC: Odyssey with a free to play vibe
Variety is always an issue with Ubisoft games. Why not cut the quantity and focus on quality? Does it really matter if the game is 15-20 hours rather than 30+?
Agreed. That and an often somewhat bland artistic design that makes their games feel like they were more produced by a committee than the vision of some inspired creator.

So the review here says that the puzzles are great. Just got done watching the review on IGN and that reviewer complained over and over about the puzzles not being any good. I trust Damiani's opinion more than anyone on IGN. The IGN guy also complained about the power that allows you to see all the collectibles and challenges in the area. He said that it made it just feel like a chore to climb up high, scan the area, and head to the nearest point of interest because he just wanted to come upon these things by surprise. That’s because Zelda also in a major league created the concept of having a dungeon with puzzles to be Saul Dennet I mean not really because that kind of game it’s been around for 20 years but if you wanna believe Zelda created it go ahead
Didn't Valhalla just came out? Why would Ubisoft release 2 open world titles in such a short time? The game seems interesting, and it's the first i'm hearing about it
It's ironic this is called BOTW mixed with Assassin's creed even though so much of BOTW was inspired by assassin's creed in the first place. From towers, to the climbing, to the open world gameplay, games borrow from each other left and right.
I'm trying to decide between this and Yazuka like a dragon. I've never played a Yakuza game. All the reviwers of this game say the sane thing. Its fun for a few hours and then it gets repetitive and dull.
The art style really bugs me off, the world is big, looks great in concept art but looks so dry, bad contrasting contours, and non-magical somehow. What about the supporting casts? Was traveling feels good and adventurous? I hope the goofy writing is better than what was shown..

Are there villages and npcs to talk to?
Man this game surprised me so much and i loved it
Wow....this really is Breath of the Wild, huh? I kinda want to try this.
Looking forward to this. Between Demons Souls & Cyberpunk 2077 it will be a nice break game in between playing those
This game is surprisingly great
After GoW and Odyssey I’m too burnt out on Greek mythology for this right now. Looks like a fun ps3-era style game though.
0:37 now I'm confused, am i watching a video game review or a Monster energy drink commercial? Nice reference to the original title btw
That’s because Zelda also in a major league created the concept of having a dungeon with puzzles to be Saul Dennet I mean not really because that kind of game it’s been around for 20 years but if you wanna believe Zelda created it go ahead
This game looks rad.
Didn't Valhalla just came out? Why would Ubisoft release 2 open world titles in such a short time? The game seems interesting, and it's the first i'm hearing about it
3 - you already forgot Watch Dogs. -Bloodworth
This game was always on my radar. Thanks to this review. I'm confident it with this review to purchase this game
Anyone else hate the stamina meter being RIGHT next to you character? Way too kartuni for my taste but good review guys.
So basically every hability Link had from the beginning of botw is now to be unlocked in this game
So bought fenyx rising cos it was on discount. Gotta say it's the closest thing playstation got to a Zelda and mario game. It's pretty good
It's ironic this is called BOTW mixed with Assassin's creed even though so much of BOTW was inspired by assassin's creed in the first place.
From towers, to the climbing, to the open world gameplay, games borrow from each other left and right.
Don't let Botw fanboys find this comment.
I'm trying to decide between this and Yazuka like a dragon. I've never played a Yakuza game. All the reviwers of this game say the sane thing. Its fun for a few hours and then it gets repetitive and dull.
If this game had 2 player coop it would be an instant buy for me
Get over it, Casual.
The art style really bugs me off, the world is big, looks great in concept art but looks so dry, bad contrasting contours, and non-magical somehow. What about the supporting casts? Was traveling feels good and adventurous? I hope the goofy writing is better than what was shown..
Same, I can't really say why but the art style is really unappealing.
i thought it was going to be 8.5 or 9 hahaah the review leading up to it felt like that!
The Allies give those out by default to Assassins Creed. This has the wrong name.
Won't draw any casual gamer sales with such a weird, niche-sounding name like that
Sure didn't hurt Genshin Impact. -Bloodworth
If it wasn't holiday season you'd have a slight chance at being correct.
