I feel like Nintendo might catch flak if they start cloning their own games though. This is clearly a BoTW clone and I think generally Nintendo's attitude is that a game needs to offer something unique to their other properties to be justified.
You know they could collaborate together for a Nintendo only dlc expansion where you can go to kid icarus’ world or something to stop dark Pit, Medusa or Hades or whatever they come up with together. Or let us play as Pit too!

I love this game. Bought it randomly bc I had a long flight coming up. Tbh I like it more than BotW. Fenyx is so light-hearted & happy in a year where we've had lots of bad stuff happen & dark depressing games like LOU2. Fenyx is like a cross between a Disney movie, God of War "junior," AC Odyssey & BotW shrines. I never like long puzzles but the combat is fun

@@dropthebase38 no it isn't, my local Walmart had it on their shelves days early and I was able to get it and so far it's great. Switch games may be downgraded a lot graphically but being able to play portably is amazing.
@@xxscarfaycexx8152 The switch downgrades modern stuff far too much. If you have access to Xcloud or Stadia you can play games portably without having to compromise on visuals. I love the switch but i'm fed up of paying full price for heavy compromises.

I've just watched like 10 or more of your videos over the last hour. I'm 33 years old, I bought a Nintendo Switch last year, and I've hardly played it due to crazy life stuff. Now that I'm in a good spot in life, have some extra money, and free time, I'm finally getting around to actually playing the Nintendo. A lot of great games have come out over the last 20 years or so, and I'm not too concerned about "great graphics" as much as I am concerned with story and actual gameplay. You've inspired me to purchase a few different titles, ports really, on the Nintendo Switch. You are making money for their company, that I can vouch for. But I also wanted to thank you for taking the time to make these videos because they cover all aspects of the games that would interest me, and you seem to cover every game title (ports really) that would interest me. Mostly RPG or fantasy action games. Great channel. I definitely subscribed and will continue to watch. Cheers and happy holidays

I bought this on Ebay this afternoon and I'm relieved to hear about the patches because it really looks a lot of fun. Could of got this for my XBOX but really fancied it for my switch lite :)
I am 2 hours into this game and already loving it and i love the fact that u can map the buttons to your liking, i changed the shoulder atack buttons to Y and X and the sprint and dodging from Y to A and now it feels a lot better, more hack n slashy 👍
I'm sure a lot of us agree that we appreciate the work that went in to updating your review based on the patch. It was very cheeky of them to throw out a patch so close to the embargo being lifted. Cheers for a job well done with putting it all together
It seems, as of now the only reviewer who made the effort to do so. And I am glad he did, was about to cancel my preorder because what was heard was a bit too downgraded, even for a family discount of 50% off for the switch version (the main reason why I go with switch instead of any other)

Really appreciate you took the time to redo the performance section based on the latest update, especially when it made such a big difference to the game. I’m torn between getting this on Switch or Xbox one X, portability and motion control vs (hopefully) better performance and visuals. Ive seen comparison between Switch and PS5 for this game and the not so shocking outcome that PS5 performed and looked better, which it flipin’ well should given just its heat sink is larger than the Switch. Going to hold out for someone to do a One X video on this before deciding which system to go for. But yeah, been looking forward to this for ages, giggling at some saying it was just like Breath of the Wild like we wouldn’t be happy with another game like that right now.

This game looks perfect for the switch, I think this will be firmly on my list of games I can chip away at on my switch while everybody else is asleep :) Thanks for putting in the extra work because of the patch. It's good for the developers to see that we'll support ownership of mistakes.
I bought it for Xbox for the graphics but I forgot about the gyro aiming on switch...I've only played Zelda for last year so the bow is worthless now in fenyx.

It will, the last one ran fine. This one has had a shit ton of time out into it. Shame it took so long though, since I wanted the switch version, but ended up buying on PC for £24. Not gonna make any sense now to get an inferior version for £45. If you haven't played it yet, you're getting an amazing game. Honestly it's almost perfect. Hardly anything I'd change.
Holy shit (Excuse my French) but that is one of the best performance and graphics patches I have seen on a game on Switch. The difference between the pre and post-patch footage is insane! This actually really impressed me they put this work in. Going to get this game as soon as possible, I have been excited about this, and this makes me so happy. This game looks so good! Really detest the inclusion of spending more money even if it's not a pay to win. All the the big developers are at it tho but it doesn't sit well with me.
Lol. For me that’s heresy to say about one most widely acclaimed masterpieces ever . Loved that game, and nothing has quite measured up to it since. This doesn’t look better or play better to me. BOTW has a unique style which won’t age as much as this game will. The weapon breakage seems to put a few off but once you get into the game it’s never a problem and you forget about it and just means you try out other styles and keeps things interesting combat wise. The developers of this game admitted they were inspired by BOTW but I’m glad they did their own thing. It’s getting good but not great reviews so far.
@@elchulototo5 Nah, being able to pick gender is a lot more than I thought the game offered. All of the promo stuff made it seem like it was gender locked. Being able to pick a gender is a "customizable character" to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Spot on about the in game "shop" mechanic. Making us pay full price and then pay again for extra cosmetics already built into the game we bought..... Not good but sadly typically Ubisoft.
It's the sad greed state of gaming these days. Especially the content that is on the disc/cartridge but locked away behind a pay wall. You paid for the disc and all the content on the disc so legally they shouldnt be able to bar you from it.

I am in a couple hours so far and I LOVE it! Performance and framerate is good enough. Looks good and I am having a great time. I have only played in handheld. I have had one crash when I resumed from standby. But it saved when I came in the area, so no progress lost.

I play PS4 but I love your reviews. You provide just enough information to inform a purchase without giving the whole game away. And while many games are cross-platform, who knows, maybe you'll convince me to get a switch one day.
This game looks perfect for the switch, I think this will be firmly on my list of games I can chip away at on my switch while everybody else is asleep :)

I bought it for Xbox for the graphics but I forgot about the gyro aiming on switch...I've only played Zelda for last year so the bow is worthless now in fenyx.

Star Link was suprisingly optimized for the switch so I had some hope for this port.

Starlink is best on Switch imo. Having Starfox and gang really make the game special and not some basic space shooter game.

So what was the handheld performance. That is how i play my switch since I don't have a dock. What is the resolution, framers, and are the graphic effects scaled back ?

It will, the last one ran fine. This one has had a shit ton of time out into it. Shame it took so long though, since I wanted the switch version, but ended up buying on PC for £24. Not gonna make any sense now to get an inferior version for £45. If you haven't played it yet, you're getting an amazing game. Honestly it's almost perfect. Hardly anything I'd change.
Won't be buying it due to it not being a physical release :( I'm so sad I've been waiting forever, guess I'll grab it cheaper on my ps4)

Holy shit (Excuse my French) but that is one of the best performance and graphics patches I have seen on a game on Switch. The difference between the pre and post-patch footage is insane!

This game looks so good! Really detest the inclusion of spending more money even if it's not a pay to win. All the the big developers are at it tho but it doesn't sit well with me.

Out of all Ubisoft games, this is the one leart riddled with purchases.

Can't wait to play it. Looks better and seems to play better than BOTW and with no weapon breakage. I'll take it.
Lol. For me that’s heresy to say about one most widely acclaimed masterpieces ever . Loved that game, and nothing has quite measured up to it since.
This doesn’t look better or play better to me. BOTW has a unique style which won’t age as much as this game will. The weapon breakage seems to put a few off but once you get into the game it’s never a problem and you forget about it and just means you try out other styles and keeps things interesting combat wise.
The developers of this game admitted they were inspired by BOTW but I’m glad they did their own thing. It’s getting good but not great reviews so far.

This game had me at customizable characters 😁 Definitely buying this now.
The customization isn’t that in depth. You choose from a handful of faces and a hair styles. It’s not super crazy.
@@elchulototo5 Nah, being able to pick gender is a lot more than I thought the game offered. All of the promo stuff made it seem like it was gender locked. Being able to pick a gender is a "customizable character" to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's a classic tale, Book of Job in the Bible is quite similar. Such an odd, story. Makes you wonder if there's more actual history to it rather than just "myth"

Spot on about the in game "shop" mechanic. Making us pay full price and then pay again for extra cosmetics already built into the game we bought..... Not good but sadly typically Ubisoft.
It's the sad greed state of gaming these days. Especially the content that is on the disc/cartridge but locked away behind a pay wall. You paid for the disc and all the content on the disc so legally they shouldnt be able to bar you from it.

I am in a couple hours so far and I LOVE it! Performance and framerate is good enough. Looks good and I am having a great time. I have only played in handheld.
I have had one crash when I resumed from standby. But it saved when I came in the area, so no progress lost.
You can tell this transcended far beyond being just a BotW knockoff.

You are 100% spot on when it comes to Microtransactions. They really have no place in full priced games that also have season passes/expansions.
