@@chilly6470 if that's the case, look at how much both of them borrowed from World of Warcraft. It's amazing.
@@chilly6470 maybe I'm missing that, just because I've never played a Zelda game besides the first hour of Majoras Mask. But to me, the climbing in fenyx looks a lot like Assassin's creed. Ubisoft is even using some of the same animations. The French are good at recycling, you know.. xD

It's not a 20-25 hour game if you want to complete the story all of it you need to upgrade your character to a certain strength which can take up to 40 hours and to complete the game 100% without any instructions or help probly take up to 80+ hours depending on how quick you can find all the vaults chests constellations the big Lyres and small ones to upgrade your character enough to then also beat all the 12 legendary bosses and there's a few liutenant bosses and 4 mythical bosses to all optional though also collecting all the armour helmets and horses and stags to rise some are hidden around the map I could go on but it's definitely good 80+ game play the season pass has an add on to the first part then second part of dlc adds on a whole new world, character and monsters based off Chinese mythology. Think the third part of season pass adds new character and new style of play with new world again probly one of the best games of 2020 for me it only came out in December
Bows are crazy powerful, Athena's draw blessing + reflex shot perk + whirlwind bow lets you do an overcharged shot every time you jump while the world around you is in slow motion giving you lots of time to react to everything. This means that you never really get hit so you can run the winged helm of the eagle for even more damage. Lategame I was dealing 1500+ damage every time I jumped and enemies barely had time to move before I was hitting them with another overcharged arrow.
This just came to xbox game pass and I have to say Resistance is by far my favorite bow. With maxed bows, 3/5 arrows freeze enemies (including bosses) and Phosphor of Love Ablaze(freezes target) is a great pairing for this. Add on Enduring Wisdom(chest: headshots %chance to chain lightning) and Shroud of the Hunted Deer(head: damage&rate of fire for bows) for a full range loadout :)

I've been having a blast with this game, honestly. It's heavily inspired by BOTW but it draws the line in certain parts that make it feel unique. The combat has a rhythm to it that other games don't really have. Light attacks reward you with stamina if you land them. Special attacks consume stamina. It feels really rewarding to master being aggressive against a lot of large enemies and be in control. Also the progression and exploration go hand in hand and it all feels super organic. Everything is so densely packed so that when you're just going from one objective to another you'll get side tracked with a bunch of puzzles and activities and rack up a bunch of rewards to upgrade your stuff. Overall the game flows very nicely without feeling like a grind.

I want to defend that game that has received so much crap since it was announced, only for being a Ubisoft fame. I have played it for about 30 hours so far, and the beginning is super slow, and frankly kind of boring, but once the real gameplay starts, it is actually a pretty great game. As far as I am concerned, it reminds me way mire of AC odyssey than Zelda, as it has been always mentioned so far. The game DOES have so few similarities with Zelda, but I don't thinkit's uncommon for games to "steal" and borrow from other places. The gameplay is pretty fluid, no bugs, the atmosphere pretty inmersive, and even the RPG system of the character is fun. Personally I relly like it and I really feel like it does not deserve all the crap it's been given so far.
I thought a lot on getting this game, main reason why I did is because I really wanted to play a game like Zelda but I never had console. I love this game and I am glad I risked to get it plus I love Greece mythology. It is funny how no one notice that game is almost identical like "Kingdoms of Amalur Re-reckoning" I mean mechanics are almost really same. But that also is great game and in basic it is really worth it.

This video made me realise: There must be someone who found everything on all regions of the map. So I am hunting that done one by one before going to the next region. It helps me keeping things on track, it is more precise that way too.
@@jasondp3546 Valhalla hands down. It really feels like the Witcher 3 in lots of ways, and I really dug the side missions and main story. The combat feels a lot better (visceral) too!
Just bought this game for the Switch. Played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The game's on sale so if you want it, now's a good time to pick it up.
I just started playing the demo and I'm surprised literally no review speaks about the control layout on consoles and how remapping is a puzzle to itself.
this is an AMAZING game. i've struggled with gaming in the past 20 years or so. i used to playthrough all the games growing up like MGS, Syphon filter, FF7, FF9, FF10. After the era of ps2, nothing seems to have been able to excite me. i wouldnt be able to complete any games. In recent times, i at least managed to complete horizon dawn/west and Days gone. However, Fenyx TOTALLY BLEW MY MIND. i now have hope for future games. i've literally played 50+ hours of this without realising. i dont want to complete the last mission for i know it will come to and end. PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL.
20 hours in..its so fun. Like it better than zelda or assassins creed. P.s. i almost ONLY use the bow, underpowered? No way! It rules. The no arrow cost on headsets ability is so good.. I just spam them in their heads, haha. Playing on hard
Most surprising game I’ve played in last year or so!! I love it! DO NOT SKIP THE HARPS…. You get a TON of Charon Coins for beating what is a super simple fetch quest…. Charon Coins are what you buy Godly Powers and upgrade weapons and stuff with!
Just got a physical copy of the game not to long ago. It’s really good, really enjoyed the story and I found it easier to get into than BoTW. I’ve never been a Legend of Zelda fan though. But there’s just something about Fenyx Rising that pulled me into it. Got extremely sick of puzzling by the end of the first play through. Other than that it was really fun.
As a huge fan of assassins creed, I like the fact that the combat looks so similarm. Do you have the ability to counter and break defense like in AC? It looks like you can only really dodge
I got this game 4 days ago, wasn't really on my radar puzzles don't really do it for me, but I have to say I'm loving it, I've just got off a 6 hr play through I've played 18hrs all together, the puzzles aren't very taxing so it doesn't break the gameplay up, really surprised the combat is defo pretty decent
Buddy, this has by far the best bow combat system ever. I recently defeated Herakles' wraith with only around 20 arrows. If you haven't already, unlock the following abilities: 1. Explosion on headshot 2. Headshot to an enemy dealing twice the damage to all nearby enemies 3. drawing the bow in the air slows time 4. Charged shots deal massive damage. The most I got was 2100 + 700 (lightning damage) when fighting Herakles' wraith Godspeed!
About the bow being exploitable, I did find a handful of early bosses which were easy to continuously dodge and use the guided arrow to defeat (specifically flying ones). Nothing wrong with that, I could've come back later when I was stronger.. but I've enjoyed the challenge of sticking with trying to beat everything as I find them. And once you get enough coins, the ability to pull yourself to enemies is amazing. I find myself using the bow a lot less since then, but still find use to pull it out every now and then.
Unfortunately they really stop you from moving in sone of them Like the bear boss had an incredible small arena where u would constantly go out of bounds just for dodging an attack
I got this game for myself and another copy for my nephew. Both are ultimate editions. I played the demo on Stadia (web browser) and I liked it, I knew my nephew would like it as well and to this day he is constantly talking to me about it if I have beaten it if I have unlocked a new game+ if I am playing the DLC, etc ... The game is certainly a sleeper hit, while I was hyped for Cyberpunk20077 this game was certainly the sleeper hit many didn't saw coming. And yes, this is one of Ubisoft's better and most original title in a very long time.
This game is a great start to a new light hearted franchise. I'm torn because I want them to make a sequel, but I also love their AC games. I always like ubisoft anvil as a studio, they been bringing out solid games constantly.
I’m not the biggest “gamer” or even that good at games. I have been playing this for around 50 hours and my only complaint is that some of the vaults are extremely frustrating. Right now the many heads of Hydra is kicking my butt repeatedly. Still my current favorite game and would love many more games like this one. a Chinese cultivation inspired one would be a dream come true
I typically do not like cartoony games, or lighthearted type games. I like dark, heavy stories and hyper realism. That being said, Immortals is a fantastic game. Im shocked, but I love it.
Having some knowledge of Greek mythology can make this game funnier. Best example of this is when Prometheus is explaining to Zeus how Aphrodite was actually born. I laughed so friggen hard knowing what parts were cut out by the "whispering"
I got this for the switch lmao. Having a lot of fun so far, the story is what it is. Light and charming, doesn't take itself seriously which goes well with the tone of the settings
My best friend got me this game. I’m so excited to play it. I’m hoping for her husband’s birthday to surprise him and her with the season pass for them so we can all play together
Fantastic game, just really starting to feel the burn out at around 30 hours. I don’t feel like it’s really necessary to level things up anymore, just kind of smashing through everything. Maybe I need to up the difficulty. While there is a lot of combination options for combat, once you are powerful enough all you really need to do is spam the stun, or axe and then just spam away with your swords.
You can hide from the wraiths if you don't feel like constantly fighting them and aren't ready to enter their base. Just stay hidden from view of the volcano. If Typhon can't see you, his wraiths can't find you.
yeah i didn't realize i was rushing through the game but i figured it out really quick when i kept getting my ass kicked on normal mode. i was like WTF this game is hard. i had to take the time to do the puzzles and side missions to get myself in shape before continuing the main story
Your beginning questions about the game. The ones stated after saying basically none of this other crap matters, THIS is what matters... That's the point when I knew I could trust your opinion on this game. You've obviously got a good head on your shoulders and an awareness of the BS we subject ourselves to being humans with (sometimes biased) opinions haha.
Best value for a game for this year. If you buy all the DLC’s or have Ubisoft plus which will give you access to all content, then it’ll take you 100+ hours to finish the game.
I downloaded the game because it was free. I’m so glad I did. It’s been years since I’ve experienced time distortion from a game. I start playing and all of the sudden 4 hrs has gone by. I’d recommend for sure.
though I love this game (was very pleasantly surprised by it), I must also say it is the buggiest game I've played. It has frozen about 4/5 times (in a 40 hrs playthrough), another time I was trapped within world geometry and couldn't free myself and needed to reset the dungeon to be able to get away; then when I was climbing a freezing mountain which depleted my stamina I fell on a very narrow corner where I couldn't jump out bc by design I had no stamina,. On other place a cube needed to solve a puzzle got "stuck " halfway through the floor geometry and I couldn't lift it; on other place, again a cube, but this time it completely disappeared from the enclosure it was supposed to be (after looking at the solution in internet - and reseting the game, the cube appeared again). Those are just the bugs I remember.......
I just started playing the game when it came to game pass I got to say so far I am not disappointed it's a good change up from my usual games and after 5 hours in I'm really looking forward to the rest of the game
Picked this up instead of Valhalla and really enjoying it so far, feel Valhalla is a step back for AC series. Too open and empty from videos ive watched.
@@jarjarrose3935 See i like the theme of the vikings but everytime i see the combat it just look so janky. Imo Unity was the best mix of old AC combat but new enough to give some challenge
@@RoboOneKonobi When I saw gameplay yeah I thought it looked janky too. Actually playing, the combat has alot more depth than most RPGs. Parrying actually takes skill unlike past games.
You might want to try it out, I had the same reservations. It's the best one of the last three. It's not empty it's actually better that it's not too full of nonsense stuff. There are things I don't like but I find the game great. It's unique in a way cause while theres the main story it's really emphasis side stories as well. Each region has its own story which I find really cool. I don't know id try it out, it's definitely better than Unity.
I've played for 24 hrs and I am only in the 3rd area and there are 7! The war den looks huge and I'm debating doing it or Athena's area. Any suggestions? I like to get everything in one area and then move on. The Aphrodite area was huge and took forever to find everything...there are still a couple things left to do there. A vault and a mythical harpy. Each area has a mythical boss fight. They are hard!
This game is so fun and after witcher 3 this is the game that i am enjoying so much and people who says this copies BOTW have to understand that BOTW is a fuckin exclusive so people who want to play game like that on their pcs this is a amazing game to get into, i seriously love the open world and the combat and the wings and flying like for hours i just roam the world and i think that's an accomplishment on its own.❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍 P.s - i love the remarks that Zeus makes on things and the narration between Prometheus and Zeus ,like it's really funny.
I am playing it on Normal, but roughly 65 hours in and I couldn't disagree more with the complaints about the Bow. With the right bow and certain abilities, the bow is incredibly powerful. I can eliminate a large group of enemies in seconds with it at times with a headshot as that inflicts massive damage on everybody around them and does solid damage on the initial enemy as well if it is the first hit on them. Not to mention a perk that also restores health after each headshot, so I don't even have to use health potions that often unless there's a really tough fight. Some might say all of that makes the game too easy, but I still prefer that to the overly convoluted controls and combat in Breath of the Wild. It's so much smoother in Immortals Fenyx Rising by comparison.
Everyione keeps saying this game is copying other games....Every game is inspired from other games. I feel like ppl just want to hate something so badly.

Thank you for mentioning "If you hate puzzles you won't like this game". Saved me from spending money on something I won't like because I hate puzzles in video games.
Thank you for commenting this so I didn’t have to watch the whole video, I too hate puzzle games
The level of people who don't want to use brain cells while playing videogames is amazing
@@dannyjorde2677 i use my brain cells, but puzzles in video games are rarely if ever executed in a way that's actually fun.
Not every game has to be saturated colors and very serious.
This game is a refresher indeed
This video made me realise: There must be someone who found everything on all regions of the map. So I am hunting that done one by one before going to the next region.
It helps me keeping things on track, it is more precise that way too.
Gonna start tonight now that I finished Valhalla! I need more of that combat!
Valhalla or immortal rising? Since u have played both I can only get one....what’s your opinion?
@@jasondp3546 Valhalla hands down. It really feels like the Witcher 3 in lots of ways, and I really dug the side missions and main story. The combat feels a lot better (visceral) too!
@@CarlosRodela ty buddy ima go for Valhalla thanks for the opinions
This game feels and plays so much like AC Odyssey. Same HUD and controls.
Just bought this game for the Switch. Played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The game's on sale so if you want it, now's a good time to pick it up.
I just picked up the gold edition !
UK store, or US store?
@@fastercro2906 I'm in Canada. Can't tell you how it prices outside the US and Canada but I do know it was on sale on the eshop.
@@robertpowell9982 its in US shop on sale. Waiting for US sale, and then im buying. 😄
Transmorficlifclation is always the best content in games. Love Gsadsfasa my armor
Haha enjoy your bad likings
Most surprising game I’ve played in last year or so!! I love it! DO NOT SKIP THE HARPS…. You get a TON of Charon Coins for beating what is a super simple fetch quest…. Charon Coins are what you buy Godly Powers and upgrade weapons and stuff with!
for some reason im about 50 hours in and I sorta hate plat forming and puzzle games yet I love this game
Loving this game! Got it day one for my switch.
How's it run on handheld?
@@EmpireZzzz pretty good i got it on sale last week
As a huge fan of assassins creed, I like the fact that the combat looks so similarm. Do you have the ability to counter and break defense like in AC? It looks like you can only really dodge
He literally answers your question in the video lol
Yes, you can break defense and counter, it works a lot like ac odyssey
hey am i the only one who see a little bit of darksiders in this game ?? 🤔🤘
Same. The combat and the ball puzzles in particular
If you haven't already, unlock the following abilities:
1. Explosion on headshot
2. Headshot to an enemy dealing twice the damage to all nearby enemies
3. drawing the bow in the air slows time
4. Charged shots deal massive damage. The most I got was 2100 + 700 (lightning damage) when fighting Herakles' wraith
Godspeed!
Unfortunately they really stop you from moving in sone of them
Like the bear boss had an incredible small arena where u would constantly go out of bounds just for dodging an attack
Great review, thanks! I'll pick this up, looks awesome!
Enjoyed this game more than Oddesey 👍🏽
That's not hard
Ok. This looks better then expected
Yeah that was certainly a highlight
I'll wait for a sale around $30
imo its worth full pirce
@@JD-gf7ur to you
$40 on Amazon right now.
@@Mojaveknight17 yeah thats why i said "imo", learn to read
@@nandosupes5858 $30 or nothing 😎👍
Bow feels overpowered on Switch. The motion controls are fantastic.
Stop it Troy, now I wanna Switch. xD
Pretty much any game once you understand the mechanics
You can hide from the wraiths if you don't feel like constantly fighting them and aren't ready to enter their base. Just stay hidden from view of the volcano. If Typhon can't see you, his wraiths can't find you.
Or you could just book it
puzzle games are not for me vs action in an rpg - pity it looks great. nice vid and review, helped me decide if I was getting it or not.
Skyrim and rdr2 are my favourite games ever
Do you need internet to start and play this game? I have heard you need it to create an account before you can play.
yeah i didn't realize i was rushing through the game but i figured it out really quick when i kept getting my ass kicked on normal mode. i was like WTF this game is hard. i had to take the time to do the puzzles and side missions to get myself in shape before continuing the main story
I found the both pretty useful in combat, I would fire enemies from a distance and by the time they got to me they were already half life
Best value for a game for this year.
I'm about 16 hours in and WOW, what a game!! This and Tony Hawk 1 and 2 remake are my GOTY.
Great detailed review as always. Looks like an awesome game. Beautiful
It’s on sale for 12 bucks right now on psn… worth it?
It's worth 60 dollars. I've owned two copies
though I love this game (was very pleasantly surprised by it), I must also say it is the buggiest game I've played.
I probably played almost 40 hours just running around collecting everything before even doing any quests really lol
Picked this up instead of Valhalla and really enjoying it so far, feel Valhalla is a step back for AC series. Too open and empty from videos ive watched.
Valhalla is easily the best one since Unity, hell I'd say better than
@@jarjarrose3935 See i like the theme of the vikings but everytime i see the combat it just look so janky. Imo Unity was the best mix of old AC combat but new enough to give some challenge
@@RoboOneKonobi When I saw gameplay yeah I thought it looked janky too. Actually playing, the combat has alot more depth than most RPGs. Parrying actually takes skill unlike past games.
Lol Valhalla a step back? It’s like 5 steps forward
I got a kingdoms of Amalur vibe, I miss that game I hope the IP gets another chance, such a good game.
ReReckoning
I will definitely give this a go once I managed to clear my long list of "games to complete"
Ever since Origins? You mean Ubisoft has a thing for birds ever since Far Cry Primal.
Great review! Thanks
Love your reviews
I just wish they would’ve added that Contant directly to the world instead of it being a separate world that you go to
Kinda crazy, how this game has the best writing in a Ubisoft game in years.
This game is so fun and after witcher 3 this is the game that i am enjoying so much and people who says this copies BOTW have to understand that BOTW is a fuckin exclusive so people who want to play game like that on their pcs this is a amazing game to get into, i seriously love the open world and the combat and the wings and flying like for hours i just roam the world and i think that's an accomplishment on its own.❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍
P.s - i love the remarks that Zeus makes on things and the narration between Prometheus and Zeus ,like it's really funny.
After you take Athena's full blessing the bow gets op as heck.
Just start to play, look fantastic and fun, really need more games like this
Was able to snag the gold edition of this game for 40$ came with all DLC, so I'm super stoked
Hope you enjoy the game bro.
