In Pakistani, we have the same yogurty drink similar to Ayran but we call it Lassi and it comes in two different flavours: Sweet and Salty and it just contain yogurt, water and sugar or salt(according to your preference...although the original flavour is salty). People usually drink it during summers.

You can get the best baklava in Karaköy and the name of the place is Güllüoğlu. They have diffetent kinds of baklava and are considered the best in all of Turkey. For sweets/lokum you should definitely visit Şekerci Cafer Erol in Kadıköy. Hafız Mustafa in Taksim or Şirkeci is another option.

But you should have bought simit from there 😂 That baklava is homemade, it is also nice, but Güllüoğlu, Seyidoğlu, Köşkeroğlu etc. are real baklava shops. Too bad it's time for Covid because you've never eaten real Turkish food. Our street food is also very good, but kebab or wrap is only a small part of it. We have much more. In addition, real Turkish food is pot food, everyone makes it at home, if you want to eat outside, you should go to Esnaf restaurants, after the pandemic of course. Most of the places will let you if you buy something but it is illegal and technically they are not supposed too... but i never had a problem. I would buy a juice and use their bathroom! Lol
