Jim is my main man in photography and watched him and Tah for almost two years. I still support him and I like your stuff and you seem cool and you talk my language bro. I call everyone man and dude as I am originally a southern Californian born an raised in Escondido 18 miles from the cost where I lived on the weekends with my father surfing and getting the babes. I spent my late teens to late 20's backpacking the Sierra mountains, Cascades, three week trip in the Grand canyon and the rocky mountains in my old age and the black hills of south Dakota. Unlike you guys I have only been to Victoria British Columbia and other areas,. Younger I did Baja California pacific coast down and the gulf coast up and down. Road trip through Mexico to Mexico city and the pyramids was awesome. That's my story Chris, but I am losing time and need to take a trip before my heart stops bro, if you can understand, Jim knows. Just wanted to say from experience living there, that even outside of pandemic times, visitors are required to their passport with them. Only time you wouldn't have to do that is when you have a residence permit. // Also, go to Hafiz Mustafa right on Taksim Square if you want some awesome Turkish desserts.
i was wondering how everywhere looked like during the weekends lol. fun video and definitely can’t wait for the rest of your trip. listen up, you guys MUST try these things below before leaving İstanbul/Turkey: - dürüm kebap(literally best thing on earth) - check balat or karaköy, renovated parts of istanbul that used to be quite poor suburbs but are now like hipster places (also the greek partiarchate is located here - the Ecumenical Patriarchate is basically the Vatican of the Orthodox Church) - take a boat from europe to asia (or vice versa) and feed the seaguls with some simit! - visit some of the princess islands if you have time. -try balık ekmek (fish sandwich) in eminönü or a similar coastal area -eat kumpir (very turkish stuff. basically stuffed baked potatoes and it is THE bomb) in Ortaköy with a great view right below the bosphorus bridge. yumm! -visit the old city, the historical peninsula where the blue mosque, the hagia sophia, topkapi palace and the basilica cistern are located
On the weekends, pretty much everything is closed and lame like on this video. Mon-Friday it seems to be quite normal out. Thank you for all the recommendations !

It’s a city ready for a facelift to reveal its underlying potential. Flew Turkish Air back to USA following my stay, but that’s one place I could definitely settle.

I am also American but have lived out of the USA for over 10 years now...you interact with people VERY differently than I would, and it's really nice how you do it, but "thanks bro" or "that's bomb" similar expressions like that - do you really think people catch onto these or other Americanisms you say? It just feels very foreign to me to talk to anyone like that now, especially in Europe. You seem very unabashadely you, so keep doing you. Wish you all the best
