Hi. I suggest you to try the local Turkish food samples, which are made at home and consumed frequently as healthy foods, in the video between 14:34 and 16:34. The drinks we consume the most are tea and ayran, perhaps even more than water. Tea is usually accompanied by breakfast products in the morning due to the stimulating substance (I think it's called theine). In addition, since our family structure is strong, we must eat together at home in the evening (the meals in the restaurant I mentioned above), it is after the meal to break the sleep mode of the body. But the most important part of tea is to drink it in conversation with the guest. It is not in the video, but Turkish coffee is also the main drink of the conversation. If the best choice for your eyes and your stomach to feed hungry to be Turkey. See you soon :)

Hi Eileen! We shake ayran before opening its lid, to make it homogenous (to avoid that thickness at the bottom you mention). You always see people turn it upside down and shake😊 We always pierce through the lid with the sharp end of the straw, so that our ayran stays with the lid and we drink it comfortably. It is funny how everyday stuff we never think of in detail can be worth mentioning😁

You should give a strong shake to ayran before open it. There will be bubble over ayran, and that makes taste more delicious.I bet you will like more if you drink ayran while eating food, not after finish eating
By the way, if you drink çay with food, taste will be less strong. And you can order mild çay,if you don't request how you want çay(strong or mild) they will bring strong one :)
++ to add if you want to drink less stronger say them "açık çay" or more stronger "koyu çay"
