Mine is delivered on Thursday next week, in Thunder, performance pack 476hp 😎 I’m a lucky girl, it’s my Christmas present from my husband.

Very lucky girl. You will love it. I've had mine for 10 months and love it more than any car I've had.

I drove the Plestar 2 the moment it went on sale. It's a nice little car, but it's too small and cramped for my needs. I'm 6'6" and I'm a big guy. The Cadillac Lyriq AWD will be my first EV (I preordered the first deliveries).

I’m a 2022 dual motor owner. FYI the 2023 is moving to a new motor setup with a larger motor in the rear, and the single motor will become RWD. I have had some software gremlins but not to the extent that some other owners have. The biggest downside is that Google hasn’t been serious about putting popular apps onto their Automotive OS. It doesn’t even have native Waze. The Performance software, which was an upgrade for me but is standard with the Performance Pack now, makes the throttle much more responsive versus the feel he describes in this model. The biggest limitation Polestar has in the US has nothing to do with the car: the dealer / service network is very sparse because Volvo dealers have resisted adopting Polestar more than the company anticipated.

Polestars are very much Volvos. That's really what they are. They were the sporty skunk works of Volvo (and still are for the current model XC60 and s60) and now they are like sporty Volvos with a bit different styling (though the Polestar 2 was first designed as the Volvo Concept 40.2). If one examines the upcoming Volvo EX90 and the Polestar 3, there are many elements that are not only similar, but the same. Geely owns them but they don't design or engineer them (asides from future platforms but even the SEA platform was primarily designed by an ex-Volvo engineer). Engineering and designs are shared with Volvo. Lynk and Co. uses Volvo platforms and engines and such but don't share beyond what's underneath with Volvo. I don't see any significant sharing with Lotus.
If you are used to Volvos, a Polestar will operate in a very similar way. Same seat controls, steering stalks, vents, so many things.

Pretty cool too I saw they offer an OTA update to give dual motor models the high output of the Performance. Wonder if they’ll do anything for the FWD model just to give it a bump as well.

I love the placement of the air vents. I find traditional vent placement hurts my hands. If I want cool air blown on my face, it seems it has to blow over my knuckles as I drive in almost every other car I have ever driven. Over a long drive, I find this sensation actually painfully cold. The Polestar saves me this discomfort, allowing me to stay cool, without giving me cold hands.

@10:42 rented one from Hertz in Vegas instead of Tesla and missed adaptive cruise. I like to have it in an unfamiliar city. Would have liked it better instead of nice stereo and power seats.

The Lyriq is fantastic and the price isn't bad for what you get. We can't wait to get one for a longer test to see how it is to live with.

I know you like the Android Automotive console, but it is super buggy and Polestar is unable to fix it after many attempts in service. My IHU randomly reboots all the time (15 times in 1 day) if I’m using the built-in Google maps. When it reboots, it shuts down everything except the vehicle drive system (fortunately). The earliest service appointment is 3 and a half months away. I love the car but these kinds of problems will limit Polestar’s success. I was considering the Polestar 3 but this is causing me to rethink that plan.

@@ALMX5DP it is controlled by Chinese national Li Shufu. What employees are hired matters little. Where does the income go? China. Perhaps some don’t care about what expansionist Communist China is up to. Some do care.
It is manufactured in Luqiao, China. In my experience, Chinese made goods have suspect quality. And any tech from China is suspect period, as they have a history of cyber espionage.
None of this matters to some, as some don’t care about Russia invading Ukraine and would just rather have cheaper oil. But people should know where their money is going. Then they can decide if they don’t care or not.
