    With a six run led, Francona should have used the bottom of the bullpen and saved the studs for future games. There was no excuse to use Miller in this game.

    Wow, it was dumb to use Miller in this game when you had a three run lead. Valuable bullets spent and a tired arm when you need it later.

      With a 6-run lead he gave up a home run to Dexter Fowler in a completely unnecessary 27-pitch appearance. It didn't seem like much at the time, but the Cubs were starting to read his stuff.

      @@aboxofbroken8tracks983 yep and it came back to bite him because if Ross didn't homer off of him, Indians would win game 7 6-5

    Cleveland fan watching this 8 years later. For winning the game big, we totally fucked ourselves for the rest of the series… ugh

    I remember going to this game and losing. I remember going back to our hotel and watching the new and them talking about how we were down 3-1. I was so sad because I thought we were gonna lose.

      I bet some Indians Fan 100 dollars that the Cubs would win the Series but he had to give me 3 to one odds,..300 bucks came my way....after we made the bet I said, the CUBS have Lester, Arrieta, and Hendricks,..I said if the Cubs win game 5 at home that's all I need, the Cubs were pressing too much at home trying to win it for the fans Lester and Chapman got it done in a 3 to 2 game five win that's when I knew the Cubs were going to win,,,and game 6 made me feel even better.

      I was working with an Indians fan during this. After this game I congratulated him and said we're done and we'll never win another world series because if not now when.

    Weird watching this later. The Indians were playing so well. Wow this was such a failure for them.

      Their pitching was insane this year - Allen/Miller/Bauer/Kluber. Crazy to think they blew a 3-1 lead with home field advantage. That said the Cubs were really gutsy that year and did win 103 games.

    • @rohunsaigal2576
      @rohunsaigal2576 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pitching matchups favored the Cubs in 5 and 6 (Lester>Bauer, Arrieta>Tomlin) and then Game 7 was a toss-up, and the Cubs that year were historically good after they saw a pitcher twice that year, so Kluber got beat up. Cleveland took it as far as they could, but the Cubs ended up just being the better team

      @@rohunsaigal2576 any individual game, sure. But up 3-1 with game 6 and 7 at home should be ample opportunity to get it done.

    How did Cleveland lose this series? We were completely dominating. Too many injuries finally caught up with us.

      well, putting Miller in a game when they had a 6 run lead seemed to bite them because the Cubs were finally figuring him out, that's why Fowler's home run against him was so key for the rest of the series

      I'll just say that Lackey's spot in the rotation allowed Lester, Arrieta and Hendricks to pitch on regular rest, while the three Indians starters were being stretched thin on DOUBLE short rest. Lackey ate the innings that allowed Cubs starters to stay sharp for those critically important games. I'd say he deserves his ring.

      he was 11-9 and the "weak link" in the rotation, surprised that Jason Hammel didn't get to be the 4th man, but it seems like they went with experience, and as stated before, it allowed Lester, Arrieta and Hendricks to be fully rested
