This was THE game . . . when I knew they were not going to be stopped, that they were going to win it all. (Of course, I lost a bit of that faith when they were down 3-1 to the Indians with 2 of the final 3 games to be played in Cleveland, but my feeling about this game in SF turned out to be true.)

Maddon just played Bochy perfectly after the Zobrist double. He took out Russell, a righty and brought in Coghlan, a lefty he never intended on using because he knew Bochy would switch to a lefty cause that's just always what he does when a lefty comes up, no matter what. Cubs ended up with the right handed Contreras, hitting 600 in that post season against a lefty and won the game.

Even though the Cubs ended up beating the Dodgers in the NLCS, I was still happy for the Cubs as they deserved to win that title after 108 years. And happy the Giants didn't make it back to the World Series. Now if only my Dodgers can claim that title I will be even more happy.

Been a blind fan is one thing but we should also be realistic and know we’re not good right now. Tom M True. I now live in Utah, but when I was growing up in Chicago, after another year not winning it all, there’s was “well, there’s always next year.” After Cubs were eliminated in 2017, it became, “there’s always last year.” I guess now it’s “there’s always . . . er . . . 4 years ago.”

As A Cubs fan, Looking back at this. The bullpen couldn’t get a single out and they were being wasted. If you had Game 5 going with a 3 run save, Don’t waste Law, Lopez, Smith, Romo, Strickland.
What would I have done if I was Bochy?
Give the Ball to Samardzija, I know he did bad in Game 2 but I would save Cueto for Game 5 along with Bumgarner.
This has to be the clear Answer.

No, sorry. Been a Cubs fan far too long not to know pretty much every playoff appearance the Cubs have made. In '86 they went 70-90 and finished in 5th place. That playoff three-run comeback record was for MLB at the time. Go Cubs, go! Cheers....

Decision to bunt with a tie game and no outs was risky. I mean, I know the idea was to get the guy to 2nd base with only a force out at 1st. It worked out, but the Cubs were lucky because that was an awful bunt! lol

Crawford's two errors led to runs, and cost the Giants this game. Had they won this one they would have gone to Chicago for the deciding game with Cueto on the mound.

Not a good bunt at all. Should have deadened the ball and bunt it down the 3rd base line. Good result cause of the throwing error.
