    An imperfect perfect game - 27 up, 27 down (counting pick-offs and DPs). Cheers....

      I know once we got over the Bartman hump (8th inning with one out) we had it in the bag!

      @@BaseballRoscoe25 On a double play as well, only this time to 2nd and not to short like the Bartman game.

    Two things: As much as I've hated on Joe Buck I thought his call in this game was excellent. Second, I forgot how good Hendricks was in this game and I never noticed when he was getting taken out, it looks like he acknowledges the Dodger dugout, wonder if they said some nice words, if so that's really classy.

    What was awesome about this game was, it was never even close. Cubs may have only won the game by 5 runs but it felt like 20 the whole time. They played an almost perfect game

    I remember watching this on TV. By the end if the 7th inning my hands were shaking. When they turned the double play in the 8th, it was as though the exercised the demons of 2003.

    Was so fun watching the Cubs that year, they were just too good and the core was young. I knew they’d be special when in 2015 they made it to the NLCS . 2016 felt like it would be the year, we’ll always have the memories

    Hendricks pickoff move to first is still a serious weapon. The professor has more going than that filthy change up. Him and Ross are the only players left from that team now..... Time for the next generation of cubs heroes.

    Kinda hard to hate kershaw too much when the dodgers put up no runs for this one. Just the Cubs year, finally for them.

    The cubs were so good back then but now thy trade Bryant, Rizzo, and Baez. The heart and soul of the team.

    • @mc76
      @mc76 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Bryant is made of glass and Baez has declined every season. Rizzo has been effective for the Yankees, but his back issues continue to shelve him for weeks at a time. I will always love those guys, but trading them for prospects was the right thing to do.

    • @yankee_tango
      @yankee_tango ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mc76 My thoughts exactly, you trade them when they are still worth something and get good prospects back. It has it dividends as well, look at the CUBS at the deadline this year (2023) they trade to AA players and get back Jemer Candelario. He was in the system and was traded and is now back with the Cubs and producing.

    Kershaw got a COVID Special world series ring last year was a JOKE season that should have been canceled....2020* 60 games does not produce a real World Series winner.
