You forgot the 22 game winning streak in the regular season as well. When they got to the playoffs they were cold in Games 3-5 and didn't play well. I felt they used there stuff up in September and struggled in the playoffs because of it.
@@osurocks24 Disagree. They didn't play bad in this series. People forget how close they came to sweeping the Yankees; lost a heartbreaker in game 3. And the injury to Encarnacion sustained in game 2 really hurt the offense.
Hey man this is gonna sound nuts. But i was also on the way to the Dodger game and i was watching this on my phone connected to the car speaker in my dads Beamer. We went nuts!!! I was on stadium way waiting to get in the gate i totally remember it.
Gomes representing Brazil and making us proud. Glad he got the ring in 19, the second Brazilian ever, but he was an actual important player, the other one was just on the bench. Yan also caught the last ball
this year hurts so much to think back on... Indians were the best offensive team that year...and their pitching was fantastic....mega talented team..with so much heart. What a team
I thought we were cooked after this. I still can’t believe that we came back after that, The guys rallying behind Girardi was one of my favorite moments in all my years following the Yanks
It'd be nice if more of these classics weren't post season games. Cleveland coming back to extend the second longest winning streak, maybe the As game from moneyball, a nohitter, the Angels losing while pitching a sort of no hitter. Something completely separate from the post season can still be classic.
I miss this Yankees team, so dangerous and resilient. Too bad we didn’t win it all because we got cheated out. We slapped the smile off of the Indians fans when we won the series.
Yet another example and reason why people don’t like baseball. Look I hate the Yankees but that’s not a HBP. It hit the bat and was caught. Strike 3 you’re out. The Yankees shouldn’t have to challenge, they got it wrong, that should be an AUTOMATIC review and umpires and EVERYONE should want to get ALL of the calls CORRECT. Insanity. Baseball is the hardest sport to watch and it’s not actually because it’s long or boring, it’s because u can succeed and the ump just gets to say nope. INSANITY
This may not be the most "forgotten" game, but I think the players on both teams are fun to look back on, and this one was definitely a classic!
Agreed! I watch highlights on this on a regular basis.
Suggestions: 2011 ALCS Game 5 or 2013 ALCS Game 1
As a guardian fan I’m still depressed from this
Haha i was about to comment “forgotten??!” But yeah definitely a big classic. Love this game
Agreed
Love these types of videos
as an indians fan this year was so hard to get over. we were the #1 team in the AL just for us to lose to a wild card team
This loss hurt worse than 2016

I’m still not over it
blowing the 2-0 series lead forever ruins my awesome memories of this game it sucks

I’m a Yankees fan and I don’t know how we cameback after this game. Being down 2-0 and blowing a 8-3 lead in Game 2.
it was more the indians choking i think
But then the Yankees won the series tho lmao
Did you agree with them firing Girardi?
@@markokuhar670 hell no, he’s a great manager that made one mistake, didn’t even end up costing them the series.
@@markokuhar670 No. And I miss him.
I remember being on my way to watch the Dodgers and Diamondbacks NLDS and was watching this on my phone. I went ballistic after that Lindor homer!

Both defensively and offensively, yan Gomes was the player of the game

Even though this may not be a forgotten classic, This is a great classic game. I was hoping the Indians would win it all that year.
especially after losing in 2016.
LINDOR WITH A SWING AND A DRIVE🔥🔥🔥
And it’s gone!!🔥🔥🔥
Santa Maria!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Yan Gomes legend. As a Brazilian, I'm proud of him for having achieved a solid career in the MLB
I thought we were cooked after this. I still can’t believe that we came back after that, The guys rallying behind Girardi was one of my favorite moments in all my years following the Yanks
This was the last time in the 2017 postseason that the Yankees lost to a team that wasn’t caught cheating
astros, stinky sox, astros
Yankees are cheaters also
If only scoring 3 runs in 4 road games means you lost to cheating lol
I mean that letter proves the Yankees were cheating to but they still lost💀
@@culamaaron bru LMAOOOO I also heard a while back about judge cheating in '17 at yankee stadium with like hand signs from the bullpen idk
Game 4 of 2003 World Series is a good one for this series. Gonzalez walk off in extras and I think Miggy took Clemens deep that game as well
As a Yankees fan, we won this series, so I can look back at this with happiness.
No Astros series to look back on😂
@@Hacksaw_HIM_Thuggin and no World Series for the Astros to look back on that doesn’t have an asterisk on it😂

still can't figure out how that 2016/2017 indians roster didn't win it all
I wish I was more into baseball and the playoffs back in the early 2010’s. I would’ve been going ballistic for games like this.
That Lindor homer is so iconic, especially because of the call by Vasgersian. I remember I had just turned on the game when Lindor hit that
I can only imagine how mad Gary Sanchez is at 7:45. A missed opportunity to review a call he was right on turns into a huge momentum shift.
The exact moment Joe Girardi lost his job
this was my favorite mlb game all the way up until the Rays 7-1 comeback in boston this past labor day
3:57 6 year olds when mom doesn’t get the dino nuggets
Man CC was such a gutsy pitcher. Loved his fire.
Yes.
With emphasis on the "gut"
This series was something else

This game is one could be forgotten about it
REEEEEEEEMATCH!!!!!!!!!! 4 of our last 5 trips to the postseason we've drawn the Yankees.
Yet we still managed to comeback and win the series
I still cannot believe we won this series after blowing this game
7:48, I wish we can get this kind of enthusiasm in MLB: The Show.
At least we cameback and won the series
7:49 Lindor with a swing and a drive!! And it’s gone!!!!!!!!!! Santa Maria!!!
Might be a stretch, but 2013 NLDS Game 2 ATL vs. LAD was a pretty good game!
This 17 Indians team was far better than the 16 pennant team that played the Cubs. Just a terrible collapse.
I agree our rotation was unbelievable... kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, clevinger... if only Francona would have started clevinger in game 4
この年ALDSで負けちゃったけど第2戦はまじ鳥肌立った
Can't say Cleveland doesn't like baseball, listen to that crowd, holy shit
The night to forget
3:57 you won’t be let down
All that just for Cleveland to blow a 2-0 ALDS lead again 😂
I was at this game 🔥🔥🔥

Best team to not win it all...!!!
This game made me an Indians fan
The Yankees not choosing to challenge the knob ricochet was a mistake to bring up Lindor.
legend
Still trying to figure out why Urshela was in that lineup. Also Kipnis in CF? How many weaker bats is the manager trying to put in that lineup?
I wanted Cleveland to win this series so bad man.
7:57 S A N T A M A R I A
As a Cleveland fan idk how they didn’t win a title in 16 and 17. Complete meltdowns both years. Wasted a 22 game streak and a 3-1 lead.
Almost forgot Kipnis played CF for a bit😂
The best team ever to not win it all.
EXE i’m a HUGE cubs fan can the next game you do be 2016 NLDS game 1?
I WAS AT GAME 3 OF THIS SERIES
LETS GO 1 WIN FROM THE ALCS😈😈

Game 2 Alds royals vs Astros 2015 or game 2 alds tor vs Tex 2015
Didn’t the Indians win 22 in a row this year?
Yes, yes we did shit breaks my heart we didn’t get a WS
You should do the story of the 2021 red sox
And then the Yankees got the reverse 3-0
Not reviewing that play definitely factored into girardi’s departure
Definitely seems reasonable to fire a guy in part because he didn't make the right choice to review something he literally could not have seen.
@@mrjimi1 i'm just saying that because it probably did factor into his firing, but I don't agree with it at all I miss Girardi
When Lindor was good :(

Somehow the Yankees still won this series being down 2-0
Seriously though why do you think every classic is forgotten?
I miss this Yankees team, so dangerous and resilient. Too bad we didn’t win it all because we got cheated out. We slapped the smile off of the Indians fans when we won the series.
If not challenging the hbp was the reason Girardi got fired, then cashman and Hal made an even DUMBER decision hiring Aaron Boone.
Post game 5
does anyone fall asleep to these videos??
I only can fall asleep to regular season games
Cleveland guardians are better now I'm shocked
You need too make the 2017 ALDS game 2 Yankees vs Astros
too bad this game meant absolutely nothing
Stankees cheated and still couldn’t win a WS🤣
No, the Astros cheated dummy.
at least we didn’t cheat to win a world series and also keep in mind how close the dodgers were to beating cheaters. that shows how good they were.
