Arrieta showed up when it mattered the most in the 2016 playoffs. Two wins and shut down the Indians both games. I actually thought he was going to be the WS MVP, but Zobrist was a great choice as well
Him and Strop were franchise cornerstones and key pieces to the greatest 4 year stretch of Cubs baseball since 1906-8, at the cost of Scott Feldman. What a heist. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a stretch of a world series, 6 postseason series victories and a 97 win average, which as a Cubs fan is an alien concept.
The use of Chapman in this game was idiotic after the 7th. The game was in danger of becoming close. He gets them out of that inning. Ok, now sit him and save his (very heavily used) arm for game 7. Instead he pitches into the 9th. And Francona misused Miller in game 5. Strange mistakes from two of the games best managers.
I mean this is where you questioned Maddons decisions in pressure situations and realized he panicked. It it almost cost the Cubs a world series championship. Why use Chapman at all in game 6. You wore him out for game 7. Then you pulled Hendricks in game 7 when he has total control of the game. You're player's bailed you out of 2 of the worst managerial decisions in history.

I thought Bryant was the most deserving, but I do see why they gave it to Zobrist even though the winning run ended up being Montero's single.
MVP was tough call bc 5 or 6 had very good series but no one dominated.
Could have been Russell because he had a great game 6 and 7, but like previously stated, could have been multiple MVPs for the Cubs
Facts
When the game is over after 3 innings lol
Seriously
Legoman2022 wtf chapman pitched in this game? 20 pitches in a 5/7 run game thats horrible
@@PHDFlopperr Idk, I guess Maddon was like why not.
@@PHDFlopperr probably to keep him in the grove for game 7. Some pitchers aren’t good with one day rest.
@@sosscarz but he pitched 2 2/3 innings game 5. Maddon was trying to throw away the world series.

Absolutely. Hell he threw 40 pitches in game 5 then 20 here. Idk what the manager was thinking. Everything u said was spot on
Came to the comments to see if somebody else had this same thought… it really makes zero sense
Joe Maddon was never one of the best managers.
We could not figure it out either as it made no sense. Very lucky it worked out .
I’ll never forgive the idiot fans booing Montero and Chapman in their return to Wrigley Field in away uniforms.
That throw from Heyward for the 2nd out in the 9th man sheeeeesh
hahahaha did you see Joe West face @16:44 when Stroup threw his arms up?
lol Joe was like, 'Don't make me come out there and sing you some country and western songs!' ..... XD
Contreras: I got I got it stay there Joe!
I’m a dodger fan but I want a Bryant cubs jersey tbh
Letting Chapman pitch to start the 9th a good example of mismanagement
oh the pain of being a Cleveland fan

I'm curious how many of the 2016 Cubs starters are still buds. Like, is Bryzzo still a thing when they aren't competing?
Rizzo moved on and is now best buds with Judge.
Imagine JAYS VS CUBS
If the Jays could win it would be ok.
