  • Our full time RVing this week led us to installing a washer and dryer. We purchased a Splendide washer and dryer from Camping World. We had to purchase some things we didn't know about, made a few mistakes and learning lessons, but we got it all working!

      @@leesureleetrippin7079 Thank you and we love ours. Depending on how many are in your rig, a combo might be better for a class a if you don’t have the height/space.

    Thanks so much for doing this video. We already had a washer and dryer unit installed in our rig and the dryer needed a new belt. But I couldn’t figure how to detach the dryer from the washer. Your video showed me how the brackets connected them, so I was finally able to pull that sucker out and then proceeded to replacing the belt which was another adventure. Thanks again!!

    Great job Fabian. Our next RV will have hookups for a washer and dryer. We actually looked at a new one. And they said that they would install the washer and dryer. It has room for a washer and dryer combo. And the recommended a Vented setup. And they would install the vent on the outside of the RV just like you did. But due to how the closet is designed. They will build a platform for it to sit on. After being full-time RVers for a short time. We see the big need for a washer and dryer setup. Going to a laundromat will get expensive after awhile. They will pay for themselves in no time. How big of a bedspread can you wash and dry in it?? Currently we have a Queen size bedspread it's fairly lightweight. But the RV we are looking at has a King size bed. So we will have to get a bigger bedspread. So will a King size bedspread fit in it?? Or will I have to take that to the laundromat??

      @proceedingonwardinamerica  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you and we are so happy that we purchased this. Washer/dryer combo holds smaller loads than the stackable from what we remember. Also, we can do our fitted sheets and top sheets but blankets or anything with some bulk to it can’t really get cleaned well/move around in the machine. Plus, weight of the items can be too much on the bearings once wet. We just do our loads of clothes and towels and stuff and leave the blankets and big stuff for a laundry mat

    • @NewHorizons2020
      @NewHorizons2020 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@proceedingonwardinamerica that is exactly what I thought. I would do big blankets and bedspread at the laundromat. That wouldn't be that bad. I'm so tired of using my portable washer and hanging everything up throughout the RV. I have to give Abby medicated baths every 2 days. I just want to be able to keep towels and things cleaned up. Abby has a skin yeast condition. And when she lays on things she gets that yucky stinky smell on things. Plus that yellow pastey stuff on sheets and stuff. I'm so tired of campground laundromat. It's getting expensive.

    Just wasn’t sure, but the exterior vent cover and screws should have some exterior rv sealant to protect moisture intrusion from rain and moist air coming out the vent. This would apply to all your regular exterior sealant maintenance.

    • @proceedingonwardinamerica
      @proceedingonwardinamerica  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We thought of that but since we have to unscrew to clean out the vent we didn’t seal. It’s a catch 22.

      @@proceedingonwardinamerica I’ve since had to remove my dryer to replace a thermostat in the back of it. What a pain. Had to remove the closet door and all of the trim just to get it out 🤦🏻‍♂️

      Yikes. Sorry you had to do that. We had to take out the dryer recently to clean the vent and hose. Luckily Fabian didn’t have to remove anything else beside lent and the dryer.

    Was going to send a pm but can't see where to. Oh well, in FL now for a week or so then heading to TN to close on our new house. Did the full time thing but decided on getting a home base. We still want to travel and we will but now we don't have to carry everything with us. Def keep in touch. Planning on Tucson this winter. Hope you still remember us.

      Congratulations on the new home. Understand the home base situation. Highly would recommend writing down what you use the most so you don’t forget it at the house when you go travel. If we make it to TN again we will have to let you both know! So much has changed for us all since the night at the museum in Elkhart! Safe travels!!

      We understand about space! Honestly we didn’t think of how much it would take up in the closet (didn’t measure for height), but glad we had an opportunity to add a shelf to the left of it to help gain some space back. Will do an update soon since we are now using it like crazy with all the baby clothes and things.

    You guys did a fantastic job with the install. Fabian made it look super easy. INTENTIONALLY putting holes in the RV freaks me out, but it looks like it worked out for you. Hooking up the dryer vent looked to be the most difficult part. We don’t have that half wall, so I’m not sure how we’d connect it without contorting ourselves. LOL

      He did a great job installing it and lifting it. Momma wasn’t allowed to lift at this time. ;-)
      We were so nervous putting in that hole and glad they placed the sticker in the right area unlike the knobs. If they had to mess up on something at least it was that. Lol thanks for stopping by and watching!

      Yea, we were trying to just use the laundry mats but with the baby coming we decided to get the stackable and didn’t want to move the rig through the tunnels just for them and it wasn’t to bad to install. (Says the wife that didn’t have to do any lifting. Lol)
