    If you plan on installing a washer and dryer in your RV, is the RV prepped for one or are you planning on adding one where you have room?

    We go back and forward on getting a washing machine. Right now we don't have space in our rig. This gives us something to think about. Thanks for sharing. Lynn and Danny

      You’re welcome. Does you rig have a hook up for a machine or would you just be adding one in where you could?

    Hi Guys! I smiled when watching this video. Some of your tips make me wonder if you saw our video on the same topic... Lol

      Hi Salty Escape! We did see your video and referenced your tip for using the pump bottles for the laundry soap. It comes in very handy to reach under the self where our combo unit lives. We did encounter one issue with the pump bottles though, HIGH ELEVATION. Oh my, everything was pressurized. We had condiments and water bottles squirting all over us. Our fabric softener bottle emptied itself from the pressure and luckily it was inside of a bin to catch all of the liquid that came out. Thanks for say hi 👋🏻! - Erika

    Great video. Thank you. We are a full time couple as well with the same model. The other thing you might want to share is how to clean the machine with just water to clear out dog hair, lint, etc.
    Do you every make your own wrinkle releases? I do it by adding 1 tbsp fabric softener, 1 tbsp rubbing alcohol, put in a 32 oz bottle and fill with water. Make sure to shake well before each us. So much cheaper and works great!!! Love it.

    Thank you! We just bought a 2014 Palomino Columbus toy hauler & it came with a Splendide 7100xc. The previous owner said it didn’t dry worth a flip. After watching your video, I’m off to try it for myself using your tips! I’ll post the outcome!

      You’re welcome Jewell, I hope it works for you. Also, make sure you clean it monthly if it’s ventless. Here’s a video showing how to do it on my unit. th-cam.com/video/_YTtwrA7CH8/w-d-xo.html

      @@RadarRoadWarriors ok….the clothes dry @ 70 minutes, BUT…. They STINK like an old wet dirty rag. I used 1 TBSP All laundry detergent & 1 TBSP Gain softener. I took the clothes out before drying then put them back in & used 1 bounce dryer sheet.
      This was my first “test run” using the unit. I’m thinking it’s never been cleaned properly, so will try that later this week & let you know the results. Any other ideas I can try?

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jewellfreeman7225 I’m guessing it’s never been cleaned either. I suggest using the vinegar cleaning with hot water a few times trying to get whatever us stuck in there out. Maybe even let the vinegar water sit in the unit for a while to soak and really have a chance to work on whatever is growing in there.
      Is your model a vented combo unit?

      Another thing that affects the smell of our clothes is if our water filter is getting plugged, I don’t think the washer receives enough water and the clothes will come out smelling mildewy. When we change the filter and rewash the clothes, everything comes out smelling clean. I don’t think this is your problem right now, but it’s something to note for the future whenever you wash clothes in a RV.

    Wool dryer balls can go in front load washers no problem. It's good to clean then that way every 100 cycles or so to make them last longer. Being submerged will ruin them, but not what They go through in a from load. Also, there's no need for fabric softener with dryer balls because the dryer balls do that naturally. Fabric softener isn't actually good for clothes, especially wicking clothes because they work by adding a wax to them. Put vinegar in your fabric softener dispenser. It will make sure that all of the soap is rinsed & doesn't leave a smell at all.

      We made a video about cleaning the unit too. I have never been able to get wool ball without fabric softener to work for us. Everything comes out one big static mess.

    excluding the initial price of the washer/dryer combo unit, is running this combo unit cheaper than doing laundry at a normal laundromat in load per load comparison? Here the prices are $1.75 for a standard load wash and $2.50 for 1hr standard drying (80lb) max. Since we pay for electricity at the pedestal but water is included, I'm trying to see which is the better value. Clearly I could save time with the laundromat, but my only concern is $$ right now. Thanks in advance.

    • @RadarRoadWarriors
      @RadarRoadWarriors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without knowing how much you are paying for electricity, I'm going to say it's probably going to be even. Usually a standard washer/dryers at a laundromat is small. I would say that the Splendide does about 3/5 of a load compared to a standard laundromat unit. You can wash 3 bath towels (not bath sheets) in the Splendide Combo Unit. With this information, figure out how many bath towels you can wash using your current laundry facility and see what the math works out to me. It will take roughly 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours to complete the washing and drying cycle. For us, convenience is the major advantage. Having a combo unit in your situation, might not save you time or money.

      @@RadarRoadWarriors here electric is 13 cents per kWh. The washers are standard 3.5cu ft. They fit about 8-10 towels. Yeah it's nice to have it in unit but with 2 adults and 2 toddlers clothes just piles up so fast daily.
