  • FIRST DEEP DIVE LOOK: The Integra Type S is here in the flesh and Acura is keeping their promise bringing performance. On the outside you will find flared fenders, 19in wheels and extra aero. On the inside there is a 9in infotainment system, 10.25in digital gauge cluster & ELS 3D Studio sound system. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 320HP & is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Is the 2024 Acura Integra Type S a luxury performance car WORTH the price?

Have you seen the price of the WRX STI S209 2 years ago? Have you seen the price of the VW MK8 Golf R 333 Edition European-spec only model?
If $51,000 is too much for a car like this, you can't be the targeted audience for this car. There are other cars way worse for the money. This car is not by any means near worse as people make it out to be.
Unless you work a job where you can't afford it, then that's a personal problem. You are living in a post-pandemic high inflation semi-recession economy and society.
Nothing is cheap right now due to supply chains, semiconductor chips, and labor shortages. Don't blame the automaker. Blame the 2-year Covid-19 pandemic and The Great Resignation for why things are so high.

Phenomenal job by Acura on this. It's a bit pricey but it checks all the boxes (integra/rsx never had SH-AWD so not realistic to expect that) Just a shame they didn't give the tlx typeS the same treatment. I think the Type S looks like an awesome car! I don’t think I would trade my FL5 Type R for the Type S! It is a bit more expensive but I can see there were some extra features and materials could cost a bit more to build! It would be even cooler if it was awd! I got my FL5 for msrp so if a person can pick up a Type S for close to msrp I think it is worth the higher price! I can’t wait until you get to go on throttle soon and hear what your thoughts are!! I never was an Acura fan when it came to it's name as a luxury brand but the Integra Type S caught my attention with it's specs and styling unique to the competitors you mentioned in it's class. But then after watching this and another review, I remember why I don't care for the Acura brand and taking an easy pass on this. I mean come on... for 50K range car to cheapen out the details... no folding mirrors, no arm rest in back, no back seat AC adjustment in center console... not even a USB, no one touch windows for the back, no auto lift on the trunk, no map on the infotainment, manual seat controls for passenger, no sunroof... it just adds up. This is a luxury brand? 40K sounds better. But 50K and expect the crazy mark-up, no way.

Joe you're THE FIRST who's done a full review like this on the ITS - and yes it's a GREAT car - I've driven Civics for 20 years and driven Manuals for over 50. Yet the current cars I've owned for the past 4+ years has the 8-speed DC Auto - why? Because I could not get the Honda NA 2.4L engine anymore in the Civic so I switched to Acura. I also understand this is not 2019 when I bought my ILX A-Spec for $31,000 - and I understand all the extra Performance Gear in this ITS - BUT.....honestly - for driving on the street this new 2024 ITS to me is not worth the extra $25,000 Premium to get into in - so I'll be satisfied with what I have with only 26,000 miles on it.
