Jim, I helped a buddy of mine pick up one last year, but it was the Red 9 version. Prior owner was a collector, but never shot it. I found tear down instructions on the web and took it down for a good cleaning. There was stuff in there which solidified and was a pain to get out. Not sure if it was cosmo, or old oil. But after a grueling assembly process, it shot like a champ. Wish you made this vid last year. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thank you for the great instruction! I bought a shooter C96 and the first time I took it apart the sear fell out and I nearly browned my britches! Got her back together with your help. Thanks again!

Great video! I just got a C96 in the mail today and it needed a thorough cleaning. Along the way I found someone had tied the mag spring together with fishing line! I'm glad you mentioned parkerizing as that is what I plan to do to mine. It has pitting and is nothing more than a shooter. The barrel still has some rifling left so I'll take a chance on it.

This video is a great help to me. I've been wanting to get a broomhandle for ages and it seems like it's now or never. The local shops have half a dozen in good shape and I have a couple of grand burning a hole in my pocket. Best thing about the C96 is there isn't any plastic in it, like there is with new guns. My new Mossberg 500 was a real disappointment in that department. Liked and subscribed.

Good Video! One historical fact. It is generally accepted that the first shot in warfare of this pistol was made by Winston Churchill in the South African wars at the end of the 19th Century. Nice job.

I don't know if the TV show you was or are on is still going Lords of War. I like the TV show. I really like your channel. Just found it yesterday. Yes this is the Han Solo pistol, one of the reasons they are so high in price the Star War collectors have turned alot of them into replicas from what I understand. Great video keep up the good work.

Okay. So. Helped GREAT for me trying to clean it just now. HOWEVER, broke like a spring or something in the frame that helped keep pressure on the button for the magazine release when trying to get the trigger out... Hopefully super glue or something could fix that?

thanx, really great video. this gun looks that ugly and uncommon. it cannot be compared in terms of outer shape and handling to what hand guns we have nowadays. but, i love this thingy. this is very old design. one can smell the mechanical age of 1896 - the time its construction has been finished. but, your video shows that each detail seems to be result of deeper thinking. each part fits into each other. if you know where to press the right button or to turn the right part into right position disassembly seems not to be not difficult. BTW, what did the owner of this gun did to it? why does this one look that ruined. doesn't the owner appreciate this gun in terms of history?
