    The car mod thing is very similar to people who install things like a pool at their house. Yes it can raise the value a bit but it also decreases the amount of people who will make an offer on the house. Also the maintenance over time is something that will also cut into the selling price.

    • @Liggliluff
      @Liggliluff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Especially for houses; you can spend that money on renovating the house, but if the buyers are going to renovate it anyway, your renovation wouldn't increase the price at all. (Well, some who aren't going to renovate it would maybe be able to increase the price a bit)

It has a big dent in the passenger side door, and you can see it was rear-ended when you lift up the trunk lining!" and he was like: "Whatever, just take pictures of everything but the right side, bro! It'll be fine! Once they've come all the way to look at it they'll buy it anyway"

    I’ve heard stories from guys who were catfished by older photos. One horn dog I worked with was bragging about who he was meeting. This was 2005 when that sorta thing wasn’t seen as acceptable like it is today. Next day he shows up, uncharacteristically glum. Finally got him to talk and said she didn’t look anything like her pic. Apparently it was 16 years old, and forty pounds ago. He still hit it though

If you know what you have and its value to you then why sell it??? Sometimes it ends negotiations on the spot and sometimes it cuts right through the BS. Anytime I've bought a car I go in with a max number already worked out and I'm honest in what I think of the car and what I think they seller is doing and I'm firm at my value. I only end up buying like 1 out of every 60 cars I go look at but I've made good money over the years doing it.

    You know what pisses me off as a seller? Everyone's first question is just "Whats your lowest" when its said price is firm. Then they get mad when i tell them it is the sticker price, or they waste my time.
    You can negotiate when you have seen the car in person and are prepared to buy it from me, not as your first question.

    • @Liggliluff
      @Liggliluff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "what's your lowest" it's such a bad question anyway; if I valued something at 50 I've valued it at 50. Plus with such question, the seller is likely to just reduced the price a little bit, but is willing to reduce it more if you're actually trying to negotiate. At least that's my experience reading posts of people trying to negotiate.

    1. When people use Google images or an older photo for a thumbnail
    2. Setting location to Closest Big City
    3. Adding mod value spent on top of the car value
    4. Setting car mileage to 1 so it appears first when sorting by mileage
