5 Non-Car Guy Driving Habits We All Hate!

  • Don't lie, you have a non-car friend who does AT LEAST one of these habits and you KNOW they best drop it soon!! Also btw, I could've stretched this video a few seconds and made it 10 minutes to spam 5 midrolls, but I love y'all too much to do that. I have a very rare trait amongst TH-camr's known as, "Integrity"
    Follow me on Twitter to be featured in future videos! Or least in the list related ones cause hahaha, we'll see how much longer that goes on for.
    Don't worry, I think I'll break out of this condemnation this time for sure!
    All I have to do is challenge my fate :)
    How many more hints do I need to keep dropping before people just realize the Weebvette is Lucina?
    It's Lucina guys.
    I've featured her some way in my videos, even if it's just her flashing on screen for half a second. Also My license plate now says it.
    Also My car is now blue.
    So stop saying Senko or Mona. I literally was gonna do Lucina the day I bought my Corvette. Not even joking. Go read the description of my first video with my Corvette. I straight up admit, "I wanted a blue Corvette to name it Lucina, but they didn't have any blue ones on the lot".
    Also Mona is basic. She's a basic af witch waifu. Her thighs ain't even that thicc, it's just her outfit. Beidou is best Genshin girl. I BELIEVE IN BEIDOU SUPREMACY. THE CHURCH OF BEIDOU COMPELS YOU HERETICS!!
    I can't believe the amount of scrublords who guessed, "Mona". Like she was even remotely worthy of being put on my Corvette.

      My mom took it a step further where she didn't care about parking close, she cared about parking next to a "good car" as a sign of good karma.
      So to all the sports/luxury car owners who park 2 miles away in the back of the lot and are like, "Why did this person park next to me, when all the other spaces are open?"

    • @TheIrek666
      @TheIrek666 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I grew up in Poland, now live in the US. As horrible drivers as Americans are, the one thing they are pretty good at is letting other people enter by moving over. Thank God because the amount of people entering highways at 30mph is terrifying. That should not be a thing though! If you enter the highway, it ON YOU to do it safely. Floor your dumb minivan or pickup truck and get up to safe speed!

    • @Roma-kg9ld
      @Roma-kg9ld ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In Finland that's illegal. People still do it, but it's literally illegal to move to the passing lane on a highway to let people merge. It's expected that people know how to merge properly so the law wants to discourage people switching over to the passing lane for no reason which can be potentially dangerous especially in a situation where they are focused on the car to the right of them, making it more likely that they forget to check their mirrors and blind spot while changing lanes. It's likely better in US for example where the highways have 4 lanes but in Finland where basically all highways are two lanes only so the lane where you would make way to is the passing lane which is supposed to be clear at all times, they don't want people switching over while going at or even below the speed limit and potentially slowing down the traffic.

    • @JackoBanon1
      @JackoBanon1 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      In Germany it's illegal to drive below 60km/h on the Autobahn and even if you do drive with the minimum speed you can be sure to earn the anger of all other drivers because the recommended speed is 130km/h and trucks usually drive 100km/h already. So you basically become a obstruction and endager everyone else.

      The stop-light thing wasn't necessarily true. Where I live and where I've been in the USA, a lot of lights have sensors that might not detect you when you initially pull up. I've actually had to wait 5+ minutes at stop lights because the shitty sensors don't recognize my tiny Honda. Creeping forward does the trick sometimes. It is an actual strategy with a practical application. Some lights it doesn't work, however. Like timed lights or the pressure plate lights that use the weight from the car to detect a presence.

    I think an important one missed here is moving over out of the right most lane if someone is merging (assuming the left lane is clear, of course) 9 times out of 10 you are driving faster than the person trying to merge so you can properly (and safely) overtake them and then move back over into the right lane after you get enough distance to… and then of course this allows them to properly overtake you if their desired cruise speed is higher than yours.

    Creeping at red lights though. I drive a manual, and just like you mentioned, staging, is beneficial. By watching the traffic in the intersection, you know kind of, when you're next, So you start to engage the clutch so you can take off faster with less slip, as you don't have to rev as hard to speed up fast. Since this is a habit of mine, it has made me HATE all the mouth breathers that don't, fucking, GO. They just wait until the car in front is gone, then sloooowly creep forward, trying to hit that sweet 0-60mph in 5 minutes goal. If you're at an intersection, accelerate WITH the others, and step on the fucking throttle!

      I simply begin the creep in advance with no throttle input and then I can get on the throttle with the clutch almost completely engaged. Takes under a second or two to get rolling like this. With good planning it works out great. Less wear on my engine mounts as well.

      even with an auto, getting your feet off the brake will actually give your car a little bit more speed without having to floor the pedal when the light turns green. now, rolling forward is another story. rolling forward means a lack to estimation to when the light turns green. we can do better than that.

    So I'm a rather casual car girl myself. As for the first one, I tend to park closer to the exit. When I go to an amusement park, my goal is pretty much to be the closest car to exit of the parking lot. I'd much rather walk than wait in traffic. As to the second one, I tend to do this, but only once the cross lights turn yellow, especially at an intersection I've been through numerous times and have memorized the pattern. I try not to creep at intersections I've never gone through before.

So I say hey you know there is this thing thats standard on cars now a days called a TURN SIGNAL. Maybe turn that on and see if someone lets you over now that they know thats what you're trying to do. She doesn't like when I give her tips for driving, but I wouldn't be giving them if her driving wasnt asking for them lol.

    I'm a truck driver, and I was behind a porsche on one of the metered on ramps in the Salt Lake city area.
    There were 3 lanes, each with their own light, and it just sequentially gave one lane a green light every 5 seconds.
    Mr porsche stopped about 10 feet behind the line, but also 50% on the shoulder, and just sat there for about 20 cycles. I honked my little horn, nothing. I pulled up about 3 feet from his bumper, nothing. I blew my air horn, nothing. I finally layed on the air horn for like 5 seconds.
    I sh*t you not, the man pulled up to the line, put it in park, got out and walked up to my truck. I simply pointed at the light and he looked in time to see it turn green, so he got in his car and drove off.
    I actually wonder how long he would've sat there if I didnt bully him. The funniest part was that I could see him making wild hand gestures because all these other cars kept getting green lights, but he still didn't do anything.

    when it comes to slow merging i'm honestly not always too mad at that. cause it really depends on how long the entrance ramp is and also how fast your car is. one of my cars is an old 80's mazda, i can barely reach 75km/t by the time i'm out of road on the entrance ramp and i have to merge, despite giving it full throttle all the way. And the highway speeds here are usually 100-110km/t. So when i see others do the same, i can't always blame them.

    I think the main reason the Autobahn, and most European highways, work so well is because most of us have to do a lot more work to actually get out driver’s license. For real. Especially common where I live. I've also seen lights that have a pad that detects the weight from the car to start a countdown to trigger lights. A lot of times bikers have trouble with those as the weight of the bike just isn't enough. You'll see dudes on motorcycles backing up, going forward, backing up, moving around on the pad, doing everything they can to start the countdown. A lot of things people do at stop lights does have a purpose. But we've all seen the drivers that think the light is going to change quicker by putting the nose of their car out beyond the cross-walk. Those are the idiots.

    Center Passing lanes are an American thing.
    In western Canada our inner most lanes are designated as High-occupancy-vehicle lanes INTENDED for vehicles to STAY in that lane for long distances;
    on a 4 lane highway:
    lane 1 is for slow moving vehicles and switching to offramps; usually below speed limit a bit.
    lane 2 is for medium paced traffic around the speed limit; most trucks and long-haul transport are here as to not block exit lanes.
    lane 3 is for passing and highest speed.
    lane 4 is HOV (buses, car pools, and generally long distance travel)

    i daily drive an 80s dodge pickup. its a 3 speed auto with no overdrive, it does not go fast, and it does not have a good top speed, but because of that, ive gotten into the habit of looking down behind me to see what traffic is doing, and will adjust my speed accordingly, while also indicating that im trying to merge. i may speed up, or i may slow down depending on how fast or slow traffic is, and that helps like 99% of the time. also, its a love/hate relationship with slow moving traffic, sometimes its nice because my truck does not enjoy going top speed, so it helps to get into slower moving traffic for a rest, but if my truck is passing you with no issue, then theres a problem with your speed.
    Fortunately, most of the roads i drive on are given a 55 mph speed limit, with traffic doing 60-65, so no real issue, but theres this one road where in the span of about 10 miles, there are almost 30 traffic lights. speed limits are posted either 45 mph or 50 mph, which is doable, but the lights are timed enough so that its very easy to catch all those lights on red, so i am rightfully pissed off when two cars decide that 36 mph is fast enough and drive side by side, preventing everyone from passing and just pushing everyone into large groups.
    However, i recently bought a b7 audi a4, and ive noticed that if there is room for people to move over, if i flash my lights at them, they will generally move.

    1: I don't really have this issue where I live. Then again I don't go out often.
    2: Traffic lights run based on traffic, some are on a timer. There are sensor pads that the vehicle has to be on to trigger the lights to change. I've seen some people pull past the white line in a turn lane, there are no sensors past the line. Some people end up waiting longer because they drove past the sensor and the sensor only will trigger when another vehicle gets behind them and stops on the sensors.
    3: If the person in the passing lane is pacing the right lane, there isn't much you can do. Watch and calculate the pace of vehicles around you and then check your surroundings. You're not in a hurry most of the time. As much as it sucks you just hope that one day all 2 lane highways will be 3 lanes.
    4: I've been behind people who don't pick up speed until they reach the corner of the runoff that starts to line up with the highway. In slow traffic what I'll try to do is minimize stopping as much as possible by trying to pace the speed more. Maintaining slow speed and increasing the distance between the vehicle in front of me to allow for more acceleration, this does help in reducing the number of times people have to stop behind me. It stops the feeling of feeling like you're not making progress.
    5: I haven't had this issue with my 86 Camaro thankfully.

    Another HUGE pet peeve of mine are the people who go slow on the twisty roads but suddenly speed up and haul ass on the ONLY straight passing lane there is for MILES!
    Ive had so many occasions where im stuck behind a car (usually a soccer mom or some dude with a huge lifted truck) going 30mph on a road everyone usually goes 50-60mph, then when we finally reach the only straight thats safe to pass they suddenly step on it and start going 70mph not letting anyone in the huge line of traffic behind pass. If you’re gonna cruise at 30, at LEAST let anyone who DOESNT pass you, there is no need to hold up traffic.
    I’ll be going 60 and I still see a couple guys with their souped up Evos or Porches going 80-90. If I see those guys behind, you can bet your ass i’ll be moving aside where I can to let them pass. The last thing I need is to get pressured coming back from work or get involved in an accident with those people; if they want to go 90, go for it

    In Quebec, creeping forward in the left lane, to turn left is in the highway code. You're supposed to do it.. but don't turn your wheels in advance since you can end up on the other side if you get rearended. You can get fined for not creeping. It makes sense. Shows intention and also, takes less time to turn on protected left turns or not(always at a green light though, don't do that on a red like you say!). But you're not allowed to do it in the right lane though, for turning right.. That's at your green light waiting for a protected turn or after the other side to finish crossing. It's not a safety issue since it's red for pedestrians.
