@Amal-jv1ky it is ~247mph. I knew a guy that hit 197 in the Mojave mile only to realize that two of his cylinders weren't firing. If it can do that I trust the posted 247
The speed limiters make a lot of sense, but it just seems absurd that my little Opel Corsa with 85hp can outrun a 1000hp EV given a long enough road. I'll just be playing catch up for about 95 percent of the race, lol. But given the absurdity of these top speeds, I'd rather have excellent acceleration and handling, with a lower top speed. Cos it isn't the speed that kills, it's thr sudden stop that does.
With the Opel Corsa it takes some 5-10Kms to reach top speed, I'm not even sure it can break 150km/h with its drag and measly torque. Also if there is a bit of wind against the car, going over 120km/h means you got the lucky fluke Corsa. I had one Opel Corsa, when i took a Daewoo Kalos it was like driving a Top Fuel dragster in comparison, a very rusty and rotten one though.

If I got a speeding ticket for doing 330 mph on public roads I'd frame it on my wall and tell my grandkids about it. If they were anything like me, they wouldn't be impressed as they do 400 on their way back from High school.
fun list, but when I saw Chevy listed at 196 for the new z06, I had to google real quick as I was sure factory 'vettes have done 200+. So yea, c6 zr1 has a 205mph top speed and the c7 has an official top speed of 212, (although stock ones have gone faster)
Also the Clio RS is far from the fastest Renault. Evan the old Clio V6 was faster. All Meganes RS are faster, and the Laguna's with the V6 diesel and petrol
Absolutely love your videos, but as a Danish (European) viewer, it would be very nice if you could add the speed in KM/H as well. This way I don't have to pause the video alle the time and calculate the speed into a unit of which i can relate, and thus can understand the video better. Just a small text box or something when editing the videos would do the job. And I think I speak for all of your viewers outside of the US :)
I just use 62mph for every 100kph. Then you can kind of guesstimate from there. So you come up with a reasonable approximation which is fine since there’s no test on the information afterwards 🤣
He has the Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda listed as the fastest Plymouth car at 117 miles per hour, but there were several faster than that. The 1998 Prowler could hit 126, the 1970 Road Runner Superbird could do 150 with the highway gearing, and so could the 1993 Laser RS Turbo.
The Superbird did over 200 at Talladega or Datona, i dont remember which, Petty was driving. I personally buried my 90 Talon AWD turbo and had pedal left around 145. I mean it wasnt stock, but the trans and gearing was, so if i had a 8500 redline i could have done 165 as that was the limit before TRE came out with their 200 mph 5th gear set.
Living in Germany, I had a 2018 VW GTI Performance. I got that little speed buggy up to 245kph or 152mph and it was asking for more. It was fun for 5 seconds and then I realized that I was probably going to die. A short wheel based car doing 152mph is a handful and you are going about twice the speed of most cars on the highway. It was not unusual to drive at 200kph and turn on the (adaptive) cruise control - best way to do it.
i have the Octavia vRS from 2019 and got mine up to around 174 thanks to an ecu tune but i was to scared to try to get it faster because the suspension wasnt up to the task
You know that you live in Germany, when you can you can configure either adaptive cruise going up to 93 mph/150kph, 112mph/180kph or 130 mph/210kph, which is pretty funny IMO, although it would be nice if my Tesla could go a tad faster like 180 kph, but it's not the end for the world 150 kph is fast enough.

They drove it from Old Lyme, CT to the track in Liberty, OH ... did the speed run, set the record... and then drove it back.
NASCAR drivers say that if you AREN'T scared at 200mph, they don't want to be on the track with you. When you crash at 200mph, they describe it as hitting anything and everything and it feels like the car won't slow down even though it keep hitting things. But that car has a full roll cage and 5 point harness in a racing seat with a supplemental restraint system to keep you from breaking your neck and keep your arms inside when you're rolling seemingly forever. A truck driver I met once described getting hit by a Corvette as he crossed a highway in Arizona. The Ram SRT-10’s top speed was 154mph, making it faster than the Ram TRX’s 118mph top speed.
That would also be when Ram wasn’t it’s own brand yet though so maybe that’s why
also speaking of dodge... the viper is rated at a top speed of 206mph lol so why did they list the hellcat?
@@steven8075 Technically speaking that was the SRT viper, as SRT was a seperate brand for a very brief period. Though the same model generation was then renamed back into the dodge brand in ~2015. In the end, still a dodge that goes 206
The C7 ZR1 has a top speed of 212, these two are far from the only issue we should have with this.
@@asymsolutions my point exactly
20:33 Larry Dixon has a 2 seat top fuel dragster called nitro x2 top fuel experience (the 10000hp engine may or may not be right behind you)
2019 Corvette ZR1’s top speed is 215mph. Even the C7 Z06 w/o the Z51 package does 202-205 depending on your reference.
thought the same thing when watching this
I feel like somebody should have caught that. C8 Z06... no supercharger... red flag in a speed list
Yeah there are quite a few, Viper had a top speed higher than the Hellcat. The Dodge Ram SRT (probably excluded from Ram because it was still dodge at the time is much faster than the TRX), they put a track only Nissan in there, but avoid the track only cars from many of these manufacturers. I'm missing a bunch and still really enjoyed the episode, but the facts are lacking or inconsistent at best.
Yeah this isn't the first time they have put half effort into research

When you guys are doing videos like this involving speed, it would help a lot if you showed km/h conversion next to the mph.
Best I can do is bald eagles per football field.
MERICA
Yeah, I'm fine with just mph if the exact speed is not that important. But when it's all about the small differences, I want metric too.
I was constantly like 🤔🤷🏼♂️ when he yelled out a supposedly ridiculous speed. Them not using metric is honestly just stupid and ignorant, because probably like 50% of their views are from Europe.

Fastest Shelby was actually the Daytona Coupe…. It would do a claimed 190mph all the way back in 1967

The c7 zr1 tops out at 212. The c8 z06 with the z07 ins 189. I think you might have dropped the ball on that one. Nice that you included Callaway but I think there were only two sledgehammer. You could get a Calloway twin turbo from chevy but not quite a sledgehammer if I recall.

The new Chevy C8 Z06 will hit over 200 mph, and previous vettes have gone faster from the factory as well. The official C8 Z06 top speed hasnt been listed but can be in 5th gear at 188 mph. The 194 is the top speed for the base C8.
Also the Brabus E V12 Black Baron has a limited speed of 217 and only has 800 horsepower, over 1000 ib-ft of torque though.
Also the 2018 dodge demon can go around 206-207MPH as I've heard (Not sure)
Right like the c6 zr1 went a recorded 202 in 2009
@@sxveng3847 it can hit 211 but it's electronically limited to 168, which is what this list uses (mostly) but obviously some cars aren't accurate.
According to a Corvette factory rep I personally talked to, No, the C8 Z06 is not going to hit 200mph. Chevy wasn't going for a top speed record with the Z06. And they never have with the Z06 lineage. The Z06 is about being track-ready. The ZR-1 / ZR1 is their top speed beast. Both the C6 and C7 ZR1 models clipped over 200mph (as you likely implied with your 'and previous vettes have goner faster...") ✌🏻
@@evolution2001 correct with me implying previous ZR1 models, but the new Z06 "should" be able to hit 200. Unless its governed under that or the gearing was purposely kept low. But it should be 200 capable.

The Renault Megane 4 RS is given for 260 km/h (162 mph), significatively faster than the Clio.
yeah, not sure why they didnt pick the Megane IV RS
I mean, the Clio V6 Sport can do 155mph as well... even my MK3 Megane RS 250 can hit 152mph. Every Megane RS from the 250 onwards can beat 149mph. Reason they found the RS16 is because all the research was 'fastest renault' and RS16 comes up 😆
