I think it’s a very very impressive gain, especially on a tf035 turbo. This thing will be very fun to daily as boost should come up really early. I have the same 2.0xt, but I went for full 3 inch exhaust from turbo, non cat subaru up pipe (this one has a cat in it as stock), td04 turbo, fuel pump, 3 port solenoid and a road tune on 1.1 boost. Need to take it to a dyno to see where it’s actually sitting at now
Really cool video's you've got here Duncan. ive pretty much seen all of them now! im currently working on my forester sf5, pretty much the same as the 2.0xt i believe. Completely rebuild the engine, fitted a td04, ported the head and exhaust manifold slightly, 3 inch downpipe with own made 2.5inch stainless exhaust. also did the walbro 255 fuelpump, all silicon hoses and a set of NGK PFR7B sparkplugs. The thing runs great at the moment, although i didn't get it tuned yet. Got Project lambda tuner Bluetooth device and software in this week from a guy in Canada , going to try and learn to tune the car my self. Nice seeing your videos, and the graphs were i see you keep them at 11,3 afr all the way. Need to find out what kind of base map i need to make for the td04 and 95 ron fuel. the forester is currently stil on 0,6bar boost pressure.
Cool Johan.. Thanks for that. Yeah I aim for 11.3 ish as it gives a good balance of safety and power along with an element of leeway for environmental conditions like heat which can lean it out. I will be going into depth on the tuning side which albeit not specifically for project t lambda, a lot will apply regardless of ecu option 👍
The sensible limit seems to be around 350 tbh. Because th heads and cams are softer than the Impreza they make less power from the same turbos though.. So a td04 hybrid capable of 320 on an Impreza would be high 200's on a 2.0 XT 👍 Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
Hi , great content. I have a Naturally Aspirated Subaru FB20. How would you go about tuning a map for an NA car. I see that it's pretty standard to increase the boost pressure on Turbo cars, but how does one get more with NA? Outside of an engine build? Is it all timing? Do you have any tips for an NA tuner? I have a few vids on modify NA Imprezas on my channel. I happechance onto yours. :) Cheers.
Hi Jason. Thanks for the message. There are a few things that can be done on an NA car (aside from nos.. Although that is epic 🤣) 1. Yes ignition timing.. As always with a subaru, ignition is the key 👍 2.. Optimize the Afr.. There is normally some horsepower to be gained from this but difficult to do on the road so a dyno helps here. 3. Cam timing.. If yours has avcs then this can be smoothed and optimized. Subarus Mappers in Japan were apparently a little 'mindcrafty' (new word) with the vvt tables. There are benefits here. 4. Air in and air out.. Normal exhaust and inlet mods 5. Heat. Cold air makes more power so getting that air into the engine as cool as possible is a win from my experience. Hope that helps Buddy.. I don't get to tune too many na cars. Just BRZ and the occasional legacy 3.0. They are rewarding but gains are much smaller. 👍
Hy, Congrats for what you do with Subaru cars. I own an Forester XT like in this clip and is completly stock 177CP...with 215000 km on the clock. If i change only turbo TF035 with WRX TD04....is mandatory to make soft? I have a guy who do like this and run with car for 2 years now and all good. I want to change only turbo and intercooler(wrx one)....and wonder if is ok like this with stock soft. Thx
@@racedynamix thx a lot. If I lived in the UK, I would definitely come to you for tuning. It's hard to find a good Subaru tuner. Especially one that also owns a Dyno. I see what I can do. Cheers
I'm based in Bournemouth UK but travel to various places in the UK for mapping. Costs etc are all on my website.. There is a link on my channel page... Or you can message me/email etc 👍

The cams are softer on the XT 2.0 so probably around 250-260 I would say. Good choice of bits 👍

Yay! More Foz content👍. Any 2.5xt vids coming? 🤞
There will be.. Soon... I am awaiting a suitable car and obliging owner 😎
Will be Hatch & Legacy before though I think 😎
Love this content. 👍🏻 what would you say the limit is to these xt engines. Say hybrid td04 decat pump injectors etc is close to 300 possible ?

@@mihaibaran2596 thank you. I can't say for sure that it would be safe without tuning, but I would recommend tuning it properly.
