    Hi everyone! Thank you so much for watching. I have gotten complaints about the music being too loud in comparison to me speaking, if this is the case for you there are captions on this video so you can turn the volume down if needed! I hope that helps! I cannot change the volume of the music now. Thank you again for watching! So, from your comments that tells me that I need to get my ac vents cleaned out before I resurface the counter tops. It was built in 1995 with the house I'm looking at to purchase. I've seen coupons for $150 or so from companies who do that sent out thru the mail from Valu Time coupons. Maybe watch for it in the coupons of your newspaper too.
      Thanks for posting this video. I am in Temple, TX and if I get the house I will relocate to small town Texas about 90 minutes north of here and cuts commute time to my parents if they choose to come live there with me. (*Its got a pool so it's a steal deal for the price!)
      My apt has some sort of kit but the caulk at the wall above the back splash looks totally awful! I want to try to fix it here before I move over to the house. WWYD? The ceiling collapsed in the kitchen before I moved in, so all of the cabinets have water damage and I asked if it's ok to paint with sealer and paint the cabinets white to seal in whatever mold maybe there? But I don't have answer to that yet. In some apts I've seen that they've used gray latex paint on the caninets that's peeling horribly. But mine specifically haven't been painted at all. They're putting black appliances into these apts. I thought maybe white "marble" counters would go well with that paint color. I think white subway tiles are nice for the upper splash guard too, say like behind the stove or sink areas to protect against getting MORE water damages. I can get those as peel and stick items too, but that's yet another project in the updating process.

      Hi thank you for your video :)...I was just wondering if the product you used didn't need a heat gun or torch to remove the air bubbles? Was there no bubbles forming after you poured the epoxy? Thank you in advance!

    Your countertops look great and I actually like the rolled look of the added color over actual veining.
    I do have one question. I've seen many videos so I'm not sure which product it was used with but to get the bubbles out the person sprayed rubbing alcohol over the top and it eliminated the bubbles. Do you know anything about this?

    • @BrontesLife
      @BrontesLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much!!! From my understanding the rubbing alcohol will give it some sort of effect for aesthetic purposes when you’re doing the highlight color (veining) and not necessarily get rid of bubbles. I could totally be wrong though. I think different products require different things. Some people recommend using a heat gun or blow dryer for bubbles. We only had two spots that bubbles and they popped on their own while setting. I don’t know if that answer was helpful or not 😂 I’m so sorry if it wasn’t

    Epoxy resin gives off chemical odors when curing. How strong was the smell in your home during the process? There is always dust in the air, did you do something special to reduce dust and can you see the dust specs in the final top coat when it was completely cured?

    • @BrontesLife
      @BrontesLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The epoxy itself did not have an extremely strong odor, but maybe that’s just because I found the strongest odor was from the bondo we used to repair the countertops. Now that stuff STINKS!!!!!!!!!!! We had to open up windows and have the fans on for that. To reduce dust as much as possible, we closed all of our vents downstairs and didn’t turn the fan on while it was curing then before applying the top coat we sanded away dust and hair. With the top coat there were only a couple of random little pieces of dust and I just left them because once we started putting stuff back in the kitchen, you couldn’t see them. I hope that answers your question! 💙

    • @BrontesLife
      @BrontesLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I forgot to add that this epoxy did not give off the odor like your typical resin odor ** resin is extremely potent where this had an odor, but NOTHING like your typical resin. Only reason I know this is because both of my parents have used your regular resin in their artwork. ❤️

    • @BrontesLife
      @BrontesLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!!! Ok, so you roll it out just as you would do the countertops and treat it just as you would the countertops. However, make sure you are putting a thicker coat of primer on the backsplash and lip of the counters where it will be thinner because it will drip while it’s setting. And while it’s starting to set it will drip just as it will on the lip of the counters. I highly recommend just hanging out and babysitting the backsplash with a paint brush on hand to feather out anything that starts to have really large drips. We did not watch it for long enough, so we have large drips on our backsplashes. It set before we realized what was happening and it was too late to feather them out.
      I hope that helps 😬

      Thank you so much for the info on the 'Prep' video, as well as the applying the epoxy video! 😃
      The backsplashes on my kitchen & bathroom counters are uniquely different. They are actually notched into the counter tops an inch below the surface (which is very obvious on the sides) & are on 90 degree angles (not with rounded corner joints or tops). I wonder if I should remove them, fill in the inch recess with wood & bondo filler, epoxy them separately & reattach them later with caulk in the corner joints (like how granite is done)? Also my counter fronts, sides & backsplashes are all 90 degree angles. Is it not possible to work with epoxy on 90 degree corners? All corners must be rounded? I wonder, if I were to epoxy my backsplashes while not attached to the wall, if I could position them in a way so the fronts & tops could be done separately without fighting gravity. Also, if I were to apply epoxy to counter tops, fronts & sides at separate times, if that could remove the necessity of rounding corners? Probably not because of gravity, right
