Hi everyone! Thank you so much for watching. I have gotten complaints about the music being too loud in comparison to me speaking, if this is the case for you there are captions on this video so you can turn the volume down if needed! I hope that helps! I cannot change the volume of the music now. Thank you again for watching! Make sure to check out my kitchen makeover video after you’re done with this th-cam.com/video/QwoAwgDsCKw/w-d-xo.html
So, from your comments that tells me that I need to get my ac vents cleaned out before I resurface the counter tops. It was built in 1995 with the house I'm looking at to purchase. I've seen coupons for $150 or so from companies who do that sent out thru the mail from Valu Time coupons. Maybe watch for it in the coupons of your newspaper too. Thanks for posting this video. I am in Temple, TX and if I get the house I will relocate to small town Texas about 90 minutes north of here and cuts commute time to my parents if they choose to come live there with me. (*Its got a pool so it's a steal deal for the price!) My apt has some sort of kit but the caulk at the wall above the back splash looks totally awful! I want to try to fix it here before I move over to the house. WWYD? The ceiling collapsed in the kitchen before I moved in, so all of the cabinets have water damage and I asked if it's ok to paint with sealer and paint the cabinets white to seal in whatever mold maybe there? But I don't have answer to that yet. In some apts I've seen that they've used gray latex paint on the caninets that's peeling horribly. But mine specifically haven't been painted at all. They're putting black appliances into these apts. I thought maybe white "marble" counters would go well with that paint color. I think white subway tiles are nice for the upper splash guard too, say like behind the stove or sink areas to protect against getting MORE water damages. I can get those as peel and stick items too, but that's yet another project in the updating process.
Hi thank you for your video :)...I was just wondering if the product you used didn't need a heat gun or torch to remove the air bubbles? Was there no bubbles forming after you poured the epoxy? Thank you in advance!
This is the best Do It Yourselfer video using the Leggari Products I have seen. If anyone has been in doubt about taking on a project like this, ya'lls video will eliminate the doubt! Thank you very much for taking the time to produce this awesome video. Now, if I could only find a DIY video(by a Do It Yourselfer) of the Dirty Pour as good as yours, I will be in hog heaven! If I do, I will come back and post a link to it. God is good! His mercy endures forever!
I watched a lot of epoxy videos before I gave up on doing it 😂. I honestly think yours was the most thorough while still explaining very well. Most videos were not enough info or overwhelming. I may revisit the idea now 😂
Thank you!!!!!! Omg I agree completely. Every video I’ve seen I’m always like wait how did you get this to do this or how did we just go from nothing to the counters being done lol. I tried to be as thorough as possible, I’m sure I forgot to say some stuff I wanted to say so I’m gonna do a tips video this weekend. It was honestly SOOOOOO much easier than I anticipated!!!! 🙌🏻😍 try it!
If you haven’t used epoxy. I suggest doing a smaller project. Like a side table. It helps. You could also do your kitchen in pieces instead of the entire thing. Bc that can be overwhelming
I enjoyed that - haven’t found any other good videos about how to change the colour of counter tops even on the videos of how to update a kitchen on a budget so really glad I found this
Well you just lit the fire under my butt to get them done!!!! I will for sure do a video of the cabinets, even if they turn out bad. It can be a how not to paint your cabinets if they take a turn for the worst 😂
Thanks for sharing .I want to do my counter top but was afraid to try on my own. Seeing you and your husband did such s great job I am getting the courage do mine on my own. You're both talented good team work 👋👋👋👋
Hi there! This looks wonderful! How does it look, 4 years later? How has it held up? Has it worn in some spots? Can you show recent pictures? Thank you so much!
This was fabulous! I am doing my kitchen now...not going to do the counter top but i have a ledge that I can make my very first project! You made me a believer! Thanks,...
Omg… I’m overwhelmed after the video lol… I’m tired from just watching. I want to updated countertop but omg all those steps lol. You got to do what you got to do. 😂 good job.
You did a great job!! I painted my cupboards with a chalk paint then put poly acrylic on top, love the way they turned out. I too used legal for my counter tops, very dissapointed after 1 year, they yellowed!!! Look horrible!! I redid them with stone coat counter top epoxy and used a black spray marveling paint, difference between night and day!! I have had them newly done now for 2 years and they are amazing!!!
That is so cool! I have never used chalk paint but I always hear great things!! Ugh, yes ours are sttarting to yellow in some places and I wish I knew what it was from. Probably going to contact them because it definitely should not be yellowing! Maybe we will just have to redo them!
Jewel of Wisdom the product she is talking about is the legari product that I used in this video. Ours are starting to yellow 7 months in as well, but only in a few spots. Definitely not happy about it. Stonecoat countertops was our runner up in choice for product we were going to use and probably should’ve gone with them instead 🤣
@Bronte’s Life thanks so much for stepping in and responding. So sorry you’re experiencing yellowing as well (As the other comment or) but thanks for the heads up. You should probably consider doing an update and stonecoat resolution since so many will be using the other product based upon your recommendation not knowing the short term implications...Just a thought.
Jewel of Wisdom I will definitely do an update! When we did the countertops and up until the last month or so they’ve been amazing! Held up so well. We have a couple of yellowed spots, but not the whole countertop. I feel like maybe doing the urethane top coat on such white countertops may not have been the best choice lol. Urethane can discolor and that’s definitely what happened! I could be totally wrong though. When we did the countertops and up until recently they were amazing, the products were super easy to work with, and the fact what everything came together was awesome!!!!! Maybe too good to be true 😂
It looks GREAT!!! I would be to scared to do it myself, I'm gong to send this to my husband. The only counter we have in our kitchen is as long as your counter with the sink .
Thank you!!!!!! I was so scared to do it. Like sweating all over kinda scared lol 😂 it was seriously sooooo easy to do and WAY more cost effective than actually replacing the countertops! They’re really durable too! I highly recommend it. I think it’s under $500 for the whole kit AND the top coat. The kit will cover up to 50sqft and we have 39sqft, so if you only have the long counter space you’re golden and you only need one kit!
It turned out great . I was so curious about this. I wanted to see regular people like me do this with no experience. Thanks so much. Now you just convinced me to try.
Thank you!!!!! It was actually fairly easy, just time consuming. We still love it! I have a one year update video on my channel too in case you’re curious about how it’s held up!
Looks amazing. Don't want to fork out thousands on a 20 yo laminate benchtop, I am going to try this. Does epoxy feel smooth like granite/marble ? Was told epoxy is sensitive to heat, don't place anything hot on it, is that true ?
Thank you!!! It depends on the square footage of your counters. We used 1 kit for ours. The kit is $395 and include the primer and highlight colors. Only thing it doesn’t include is rollers, tape, plastic, buckets, stuff like that.
Truly awesome job! U all made it look fun and doable. Thank you for giving so much great info. I am amazed at the gold transformation to that marble. Kool stuff
Hi! Thank you so much. Here is a full 1 year update. th-cam.com/video/HhxgzRw41hA/w-d-xo.html we are going on two years in January and not much has changed since this video :)
Your countertops look great and I actually like the rolled look of the added color over actual veining. I do have one question. I've seen many videos so I'm not sure which product it was used with but to get the bubbles out the person sprayed rubbing alcohol over the top and it eliminated the bubbles. Do you know anything about this?
Thank you so much!!! From my understanding the rubbing alcohol will give it some sort of effect for aesthetic purposes when you’re doing the highlight color (veining) and not necessarily get rid of bubbles. I could totally be wrong though. I think different products require different things. Some people recommend using a heat gun or blow dryer for bubbles. We only had two spots that bubbles and they popped on their own while setting. I don’t know if that answer was helpful or not 😂 I’m so sorry if it wasn’t
I hope you get this comment and it helps. I watched your year update as I was researching epoxy countertops. I just watched another video and she used a product called tanwise tan remover to get stains out of her epoxy countertops. She listed Sally’s carries it also Amazon. I don’t know if you still have that stain but this may help. If you try and it works please let me know lol. Your projects look great.
Oh my gaaasshhhhh. I’m DROOLING!!!! You guys did an AMAZING job!!!! *packs up kids and goes to Lowe’s to buy all of these supplies to do my counters* 😂😂🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍 I want to epoxy all of our countertops now! It was so much easier than I ever expected and gave the kitchen a totally different look and feel 😍😍😍😍😍 I am in love!!!
New sub. I'm so happy I came across your video. I'm now committing myself to doing this. As others have said, this is the best video by far and wasn't intimidating like when I watch the Legarri Video and they also use that fire torch. Oh no...not me, but YOU made is possible. Thanks so much. It looks Fantastic.!!!!
I am so happy you’ve come across it!!! Thank you so much! I had those exact same thoughts and feelings watching some of the videos. There was no way I was about to take a torch to anything. I’m so happy that you enjoyed this!!! Thank you thank you!! 😍😍😍😍
Hi! They’ve held up well. I have never put hot stuff directly on my counters because that’s just what I was taught growing up. I always use a trivet or pot holder, so I can’t speak on that. I would say their product is a quality product and the company is very helpful with good customer service.
Soooo beautiful!! I always wanted to do this but I’m scare about it, even though I stained my own kitchen cabinets. You did awesome and you make it look easier. Thanks for the video!🌹blessings
Looks great.. Are you planning on painting your kitchen cabinets? I have the same ones you have and am itching to paint them but too scared that I will ruin them.. They are in great shape I just don't care for that orangy oak color and want to paint them white.
Thank you so much! Yes we are! That is next up on my to do list. I’m honestly super intimidated to do them for the same reasons. I do not like the orangey oak at all, but I’m also scared they’re gonna look horrible if I paint them. But I’m going to attempt it!!! I just need to figure out when and if I’m gonna try to do sections at a time or just go for the whole thing!
Wow, this was awesome, you guys did an excellent job, just fabulous, awaiting to do my counter tops, Great tips, great information, live it, live you guys, God Bless You Both, remember you are amazing!...👏👌👍✨💞😄🙏🙋🤗🥰👍✨🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much!!! I’m not exactly sure to be honest. We measured out our square footage and calculated what we needed that way. We only used one kit
Hi! I am your “newest/ biggest” fan, lol. I am watching all of your videos! I liked the music and loved your tips / suggestions as well as your excitement and dancing 🙌😂 thanks for posting these!
Just a quick question please. I just ordered my first Leggari epoxy kit! Your countertops look exactly like mine, however... my counters have a very slight bump on the edge. It looks like yours is the same. Did you have NY trouble with the epoxy flowing up and over that edge? I see it on your counters but the island is different. Your help is appreciated! Please and thank you 😊
The back area with the lip (the backsplash) we had issues with because my husband didn’t roll any of the drips out before they set. The front rounded edge no issues! Just made sure to go heavy on the primer in those areas
Thank you so much!!! It should last a while! I’m not sure exactly how long, but at the very least a few years. Our countertops have held up really well! I don’t baby them. We have very minor scratches on them that you can only see in certain lighting and I’m not sure if it’s from sliding stuff around or just the marks left behind when sanding before the top coat. Either way, you can only see them when the light hits a certain way and if you’re looking closely. A couple of spots have stained, but I have no clue what was set there to stain them. Other than that they’re great! Still going strong almost 8 months later!
I have a full prep video showing what we did on here somewhere! But we rolled over. You do need to prep it right though so 1) it adheres and settled right 2) you can hide any seams where the counter meets, damage, etc
You’re welcome! I do not, just this one. I’m sorry. I know there are some out here on TH-cam though. I’ve watched a couple. I’ll see if I can find them!
They came out great! So I noticed you guys didn’t use the heat gun or torch, do you not have to use those? And how long for them to cure? We have cats so it’s a scary thought process!
Nope! You can watch step by step videos from the actual company or reach out to them for exact directions. It’s been a while since we did this so I don’t want to give out wrong info
@@jenniferescobedo3655 it depends what you want. Maybe not if you want laminate countertops, but if you want quartz or granite then yes. Depends on size of your kitchen. Price it all out! Calculate square footage then find whatever countertops you want. We couldn’t afford the quartz we wanted, so for us it was the affordable option to get the look we wanted.
Does this epoxy coating have strong fumes when you are working with it? My kitchen has small windows so ventilation is poor and I wonder if I should wear a mask too.
What I liked about leggari is that their kits came with the primer and highlight colors (even though I opted not to use them). Also, they don't require applying any heat to the countertops. That intimidated me with other brands, not gonna lie. I'm sure stonecoat is great though! Those were just my main two reasons for choosing leggari. They have great customer service too :)
Epoxy resin gives off chemical odors when curing. How strong was the smell in your home during the process? There is always dust in the air, did you do something special to reduce dust and can you see the dust specs in the final top coat when it was completely cured?
The epoxy itself did not have an extremely strong odor, but maybe that’s just because I found the strongest odor was from the bondo we used to repair the countertops. Now that stuff STINKS!!!!!!!!!!! We had to open up windows and have the fans on for that. To reduce dust as much as possible, we closed all of our vents downstairs and didn’t turn the fan on while it was curing then before applying the top coat we sanded away dust and hair. With the top coat there were only a couple of random little pieces of dust and I just left them because once we started putting stuff back in the kitchen, you couldn’t see them. I hope that answers your question! 💙
I forgot to add that this epoxy did not give off the odor like your typical resin odor ** resin is extremely potent where this had an odor, but NOTHING like your typical resin. Only reason I know this is because both of my parents have used your regular resin in their artwork. ❤️
What is the heat resistance of the Legarri Products ?? Great video , I have been on the fence about trying this method also & the heat resistance is one of the important factors to me. Thanks for sharing your technique, you did make it look a lot easier than most videos I have seen. Also do you know if it would be possible to put an additional clear coat after time if there does happen to be any scratches or such ?? Thank you & Merry Christmas !!! 🎅🎅🎅🤶🤶🤶🌲🌲🌲❄❄
It is supposed to be heat resistant, but I have never put it to the test other than a hot coffee mug or a plate with hot food. I always use a trivet or pot holder. And you’re welcome!!! I’m sure you could put an additional top coat, but I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t had any issues with scratches and it’s been just about a year 😊 thank you so much!!!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!! 😍🎄❤️
Great video! My question relates to the odor/smell of the products you used. Were they toxic or high VOC? That's my biggest concern related to epoxy. When I watched the video, you guys didn't seemed bothered by any odor at all, so I thought I'd ask. I've even seen people wearing masks when working with epoxy but you guys didn't. Thank you.
Thank you!! It has an odor, but it wasn’t horrible. It’s not your typical epoxy resin that smells horrible. The bondo we used to seal stuff on the prep video smelled way worse than the epoxy. It smelled, but not terribly
Thank you so much!!!! 😍 If you have similar countertops then I have a whole video dedicated to how to prep them! You will need to remove everything, clean, sand... all that stuff
This video was so helpful and has convinced me to finally do this! Thank you so much for all the advice, tips, and tricks! I’m getting ready to order my kit and was wondering what kit you ordered. Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much!!!! You are so welcome!! I think it was kit 2. I will double check on that though! You can do it! It was time consuming, but not hard by any means! 💜💜💜💜
Hey!! Thank you so much! It took us a couple of days from start to finish with the top coat because we had to wait for the epoxy to cure a bit before doing the top coat. The first day was an all day even! We had the grandparents in town to help with the kids ☺️
Nice epoxy work on the counters! Question...do you know if the epoxy coating resist heat (hot pan) & stain (e.g. pomegranate juice) once it's completely cured. We have a dark granite counter we like to brighten up (similar in color to your white marble countertop color) but can't see spending around $5K. Just subscribed. Thank you!
How has it held up over time? Is it waterproof? What about heat, does it stand hot pots? Does it stain easily, leave rings, are they easy to wipe? Please update us. Thank you

Thank you!!!!! Highly recommend. I just did my 1 year update a few days ago in case you’re curious about yellowing or anything
@@BrontesLife Where is the link to the one year update please?
Hi Bronte how well have your countertops held up, is this product heat resistant and fade resistant uv. It looks great
Seriously amazing! Thank you for being so thorough. I’m going to have to go check out leggari now
Thank you so much!!!! And you’re so welcome. Their products are top notch! You will not be disappointed!
Love it, this would be great for my mom's kitchen.
Thank you!!! It was really easy! And fun!
Great job!! You two worked so well in tandem!!! I have a feeling that fresh cabinets are in your future!!! Kitchen looks great!!! So bright!
Thank you so much!!!! Oh yes, we recently did those too! And I cannot believe how different the kitchen looks!!!! Like night and day!
Hey how r they holding up? Would u say this company’s product is quality? And can u put hot stuff on the countertops
Hi! They’ve held up well. I have never put hot stuff directly on my counters because that’s just what I was taught growing up. I always use a trivet or pot holder, so I can’t speak on that. I would say their product is a quality product and the company is very helpful with good customer service.
Great job! I love how your countertops turned out.
Glad you like them!
Fantastic..exactly what I was looking for
Perfect! Thank you for watching!
Soooo beautiful!! I always wanted to do this but I’m scare about it, even though I stained my own kitchen cabinets. You did awesome and you make it look easier. Thanks for the video!🌹blessings
I REALLY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL & WILL BE APPPLYING IT TO MY NEW HOME. WEIRD QUESTION BUT WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE COUNTRY MUSIC YOU USE.?
Love the marble look. Great teamwork 🎉
Thank you!
I did mine in a chalk paint, super easy and I love them!
taylor vancleave did u prime it?
Wow, this was awesome, you guys did an excellent job, just fabulous, awaiting to do my counter tops, Great tips, great information, live it, live you guys, God Bless You Both, remember you are amazing!...👏👌👍✨💞😄🙏🙋🤗🥰👍✨🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much!!!!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗 I hope they turn out amazing! Good luck!
Wow great job... that really looks nice!
Thank you!!!
Absolutely gorgeous!! My husband and I will be watching again together. One question...As this was a year ago, did your countertops yellow at all?
Thank you! I have an in depth update video on my channel!💗
This turned out beautiful.. How many gallons of white epoxy did you need? I saw 1.5 gallon and 3 gallon on the website.
Thank you so much!!! I’m not exactly sure to be honest. We measured out our square footage and calculated what we needed that way. We only used one kit
I'm getting excited! Can't wait for the update 👀 need that video
Coming soon!
This looks pretty darn good!
Thank you!!!
@@BrontesLife you’re welcome ☺️
Hi! I am your “newest/ biggest” fan, lol. I am watching all of your videos! I liked the music and loved your tips / suggestions as well as your excitement and dancing 🙌😂 thanks for posting these!
Oh & you already know I’m jealous of that sink 😛
Shall I tell Wesley what to get you as a belated Christmas gift???? 😉
Please and thank you 😊
How fun! Are you talking about the front or the backsplash???
@@BrontesLife sorry... a little hard to explain. The front edge of the countertop
The back area with the lip (the backsplash) we had issues with because my husband didn’t roll any of the drips out before they set. The front rounded edge no issues! Just made sure to go heavy on the primer in those areas
How long does this kind of counter top last ? Does it stand up to regular use of a counter top , without scratches etc ? It turned out great
Thank you so much!!!
Hello, do you need to remove the old laminate countertop before rolling the epoxy. Or can you just roll over it?
I have a full prep video showing what we did on here somewhere! But we rolled over. You do need to prep it right though so 1) it adheres and settled right 2) you can hide any seams where the counter meets, damage, etc
I’m remodeling my kitchen and was pulling my hair out with the granite prices thanks for saving my hair😅
You and your hair are welcome!!!
Ficaram belíssimas suas bancadas. Excelente trabalho 👏👏👏👏👏😙😙😙
muito obrigada Camila! 😍😍😍😍
GREAT JOB....can this be done over granite...or Tile??? Thanks.
Thank you so much!!! Yes, the prep process would be different though. It can definitely be done on either tile or granite!
@@BrontesLife wow thx so much for the speedy response..do you have a video for granite and tile??
You’re welcome! I do not, just this one. I’m sorry. I know there are some out here on TH-cam though. I’ve watched a couple. I’ll see if I can find them!
Beautiful. Great video. Would love any feedback on how long your counter tops lasted looking so nice!
Thank you! Yes, I have a 1 year update video on my channel. It should be in the description box
I've been wanting to do the Leggari counter tops - thanks for sharing your experience. It gives me a bit more confidence. They look awesome!
You’re welcome!!! You should do it! We still love ours so much 🧡
@@BrontesLife does it really save your a lot more money than buying new counter tops ?
@@jenniferescobedo3655 it depends what you want. Maybe not if you want laminate countertops, but if you want quartz or granite then yes. Depends on size of your kitchen. Price it all out! Calculate square footage then find whatever countertops you want. We couldn’t afford the quartz we wanted, so for us it was the affordable option to get the look we wanted.
Great job guys🌸
Thank you!
I just painted mine white and put a glitter gloss on mine for 25 pound it's beautiful
Does this epoxy coating have strong fumes when you are working with it? My kitchen has small windows so ventilation is poor and I wonder if I should wear a mask too.
Yes it does
What made you go with leggari, compared to other companies like stone coat? Great video.
@@BrontesLife ok great thank you very much.
@@BrontesLife thank you !!!
Omg Bronte! You guys did so awesome! It looks great!
Thank you so much!!! I’m so happy with how they turned out! I was soooo nervous we were gonna mess them up!
@@BrontesLife Thanks so much for replying!
We have corian countertops. Will this same outcome work? Your countertops look beautiful!!
Thank you!!! I don’t see why not. I have only ever done my Formica countertops though so I don’t have any tips, I’m sorry!
😍 Wow! Beautiful! Ok, so I’m getting more and more brave...just might do it! Want to do this on my kids’ desks. Great video and explanation!
Thank you so much!!!! That is a great idea! If you try it let me know how it turns out!😍
I live it and have a question before to start to do I have to sand the counter and remove everything old
Thank you so much!!!! 😍 If you have similar countertops then I have a whole video dedicated to how to prep them! You will need to remove everything, clean, sand... all that stuff

This turned out really pretty! I love that you gives did it together! Way to go team!
Thank You Guys 👍
You’re so welcome!
Yes, it was kit 2. You can add a highlight color to your kit so you don’t have to do the spray paint and it will probably be so much easier
Hey! Awesome job! How long did this take? From prep to finish? We have 3 young kids so we would want them gone while we do this.
Hey!! Thank you so much! It took us a couple of days from start to finish with the top coat because we had to wait for the epoxy to cure a bit before doing the top coat. The first day was an all day even! We had the grandparents in town to help with the kids ☺️
Bronte's Life, awesome thank you! I’m excited to keep watching your videos.
I want to do this but some people have mentioned staining. If you get mustard or something like that will it stain? How have yours held up?
Here is my one year update. They’re about the same since this video 🩷 th-cam.com/video/HhxgzRw41hA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you!
Loved the way your countertops turned out! 😍😍
Thank you so much my beautiful friend!!!!
Wow what a great job 😍😍💕💕💕💕
Thank you!!!!!💖
Oh my goodness, I am going to do this! Thank you showing the step by step process because you make it seem so easy, thank you.
Do it!!! It was not hard at all, just very time consuming! Totally doable!
How has it held up over time? Is it waterproof? What about heat, does it stand hot pots? Does it stain easily, leave rings, are they easy to wipe? Please update us. Thank you
There is a detailed update video on my channel here ♥️
