Maintenance issues: - Heat resistance. So long as you don't sit a hot frying pan onto the surface, epoxy generally does a good job of heat resistance. For example, boiling water pot seated onto the counter does just fine. - Stain resistance. Generally, very good. Certain items, such as mustard and tumeric, are problematic. The longer such stains are left on the counter, the lighter the countertop color, it requires greater effort to remove. - Scratch resistance. The glossy surface does show up micro-scratches. The darker the surface, the more the scratches show up. Not an obvious problem for day-to-day use, but might be an issue for picky customers. - Aging. Epoxy does yellow with age. The thicker the application and the lighter the color, the more noticeable the yellowing.
@@jimnora1705 depends who you are. Also if you want to spend 20k for a granite countertop then go for it. I got a quartz one recently in my remodel that is great and looks of marble haha

What a beautiful outcome. Some suggestions for future videos: Explain a bit about what the actual materials are…not a science class for college kids but a basic quick intro telling what expoxy is, what steps you’ll be taking and what timespan the project takes, start to finish. You showed the pigments and the can of spray paint but I wondered why you’d be spraying your work. A quick word on prep beyond the obvious masking: anything special to use? Priming was interesting to watch, but pointing out tips for a thin even coat would help newbies. Same with the masking tape: any special tips to get it on so nicely? Great explanation/demo on how to pour Spritzing with the alcohol: whys and wherefores Great demo on reducing surface tension and cleaning up Sealing mentioned but not explained And personally--I hate the background music a lot of people used New subscriber and fan
How durable is the finish against common kitchen mishaps (hot pans / dropping pans / occasional careless knife or fork use against this surface instead of a cutting board)? Is the resin, once cured, safe to touch cold and warm food?
The base in this video is a flood coat of epoxy we installed to level the countertop. Our kits can be installed over most countertop surfaces including tile, wood, formica, laminate, granite, etc. The most vital part is in the prep-making sure our coatings with bond with the previous surface💯
My dude! I watched that whole video. That was so cool how you created that look from start to finish. I wish I could do this for my moms house and mine when I get one. I couldn’t tell from the video what kind of surface you started with. Was it wood or something else?
Thank You! It started out as MDF plywood but we pour on the same kitchen over and over. we just pulled off the counter and started over with fresh MDF and there were 27 layers on this one countertop, what you saw was just a flood coat of are orange gold to level out the countertop again! It kinda looked like wood when it was all scuffed up to get a good bond didn’t it!
@@pargolf3158 I believe they're just saying that they pour different designs on the same countertop over and over again. In other words, they'd done 27 different tutorials for different colors and then did this one. If you remove old tile and top with MDF, or start with Formica, you should be able to do this on it after the primer. Leggari, correct me if I'm mistaken please.
I have a very important question, have you ever redone a bathroom granite counter & sink? The sink is what I mostly wonder about so if you happen to have a video on that would be awesome. TIA
Looks awesome I have done countertops similar to this except I use cheep interior paint and toilet paper and a natural sponge 🧽 then put the latex clear coat on sometime I put pearl in the clear helps give it a beeper look I like to sink a penny into it somewhere in it jut to add something different. I have also did baseball cards anyway looks awesome
This is impressive clever art. Love it in the artistic and unique sense. At the same time I would be valuating it against stone tops benefits. How does it compare price wise anyone?
Hi. Are you familiar with Fat Albert's? Remember their tables with the cartoons? They were covered with epoxy. Very strong. Honestly, I feel that arboright (?) Counters are best for the unskilled. lol . The epoxy products are expensive and first timers would make a mess. I'm sure with labor these are quite dear, to have done, but leave it to the pros. 😆 EPOXY CANNOT STAND HEAT, not even as well as arboright, even though we are not to put heat on them either. These are beautiful, but honestly, I love cooking, and would get sick of looking at them. 🤣😂😅
You can certainly do a lot with epoxy, I’ve seen tables that were made with nothing but epoxy, but even for a kitchen table, epoxy can make it look really nice.

amazing and beautiful work guys. How long takes for the edges stop dripping epoxy ? How long take to be totally dry? Why you guys didn't use heat or torch gun? oh by the way, the owner should pick a better kitchen sink.. like a cooper one with black metal faucet instead that cheap look sink.. thanks for sharing. Which you do works here in Florida 👍🏼
The pattern is wild and I'd tire of it quickly, but using fewer colors or those with much less contrast between them would solve that problem and make it appear more natural, I'm sure.
How did you manage so that the resin doesn't leak at the edges ? Did you use standard or special adhesive tape ? Does it have to be very sticky or did you have to press hard ? At the time you pour the resin, it's still liquid, and I'm afraid it can find a tiny way out between the edges and the tape.
I don't have experience with this particular method, but generally if the taped surface is flat/shiny and the tape is wide, you can stop leaks almost with any kind of tape. Problems arise when the previous (side) surface is uneven / porous / badly scratched. For example, if you sand wood with 240 paper then you are good with a simple painting tape, but on raw bark no tape will work.
i have a queen sized loft bed made of --more or less-- sanded lumber and a coat or two of some ugly baby blue wall paint. i use a double mattress on the queen platform top and that kind of works oit because i have leftover surface space on the side (for my books/ alarm clock /water bottle /etc.) when I sleep. i want to make that little 1' 6" (or so) space look hella sick with some acrylic. suggestions? also is there any way i can do the sides of the pieces of plain ugly lumber on the support frame? how can i put acrylic on a piece of wood that is not laying on the ground (i.e., is perpendicular to the floor) thanks!
I wish you had offers for more of a bulk commercial project type of costs. I plan on using a similar technique for many countertops. So I would need a fairly significant quantity of the epoxy. It is nearly 50 countertops that are 6 feet long by 2 feet wide . Finding a bulk deal for epoxy seems not optional anywhere I have looked. It is a business so it has to be cost effective to meet requirements for approval of budget. Do you have such an offer to businesses or a larger bulk offer instead of the smaller ones on your site?
well try to keep the doors of the project room closed and the fans turned off to keep off the dust. For hair strands wear shower cap and keep your pet away
If you clean up really well before you pour and minimize airflow as much as possible while the epoxy is setting up, you will have the best chance at avoiding getting anything in the epoxy.
Great look. I have really deep window sills (about 18"), and I'm gonna do this design on my living room sill. Curious, no problem with bubbles? When I did my countertops (about 4 years ago), I "chopped" the resin (was shown to do so to make sure the resin was sticking to the primer) the resin with a small brush, then go back over it with a heat gun to get rid of all of the bubbles. Room temp was probably in the 70's.
Many companies recommend using a torch to remove air bubbles in the epoxy. We didn't love the torching process and dangers associated with it so we had our epoxy formulated to push air bubbles to the surface and all we have to do is spritz it with denatured alcohol to pop the remaining bubbles for a glass smooth surface! It's worked great for us! th-cam.com/video/WFPXySBhoXo/w-d-xo.html
Not durable at all. That gloss will scratch to hell and back and will pretty quickly loose it's luster. You can repolish it but this is far from a durable finish vs stone.
We have some floor kits you can check out here! leggari.com/order-flooring/#metallic-epoxy-kits These products are amazing because of how versatile they are. Theoretically, you could replicate this design on a floor🔥
Thank you! We use 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol to disperse the design, allow that to evaporate, and sprits the surface with denatured alcohol to pop bubbles in the epoxy. Good luck!
Any food-safe plastic is just food safe for now. Everything they replaced BPA with is most likely not any more benign, it'll just take more time for it to be proven, just like with BPA. We're also just really starting to focus on nanoplastics (smaller than microplastics), which is a whole new dimension to worry about.
I like to pour my epoxy colors on to one another separately, not put them all together like that in the same bucket, then add clear into the voids, and my buckets have pour spouts on them. But your technique gives what I call a “Jupiter’s eye” effect, which is pretty cool. 😎
I pray to the Lord everyday....to post a comment on another person's vido on how to fix counter tops seems counter intuitive. How one chooses to converse with the Lord is ones on business. Light and Love📖

Some suggestions for future videos:
Explain a bit about what the actual materials are…not a science class for college kids but a basic quick intro telling what expoxy is, what steps you’ll be taking and what timespan the project takes, start to finish.
Great explanation/demo on how to pour
Spritzing with the alcohol: whys and wherefores
Great demo on reducing surface tension and cleaning up
Sealing mentioned but not explained
And personally--I hate the background music a lot of people used
New subscriber and fan
All that is explained in detail with the tutorials you recieve in your email after purchasing your kit!
I agree with you the music choice was awful, I almost left because of it.
@@terivertefeuille6996 I left because of it
THIS IS THE BEST COUNTERTOP DESIGN😘 IT IS EXTREMELY ARTSY AND FUN LOOKING😌
How durable is the finish against common kitchen mishaps (hot pans / dropping pans / occasional careless knife or fork use against this surface instead of a cutting board)?
Is the resin, once cured, safe to touch cold and warm food?
what is the base material of the countertops? Could this work on laminate or what should be used?
The base in this video is a flood coat of epoxy we installed to level the countertop. Our kits can be installed over most countertop surfaces including tile, wood, formica, laminate, granite, etc. The most vital part is in the prep-making sure our coatings with bond with the previous surface💯
This is quite the art project and one of a kind pieces. I enjoyed watching this video.
Same...
Thank You!
It completely transformed the countertop. Absolutely beautiful!
Thank You!
My dude! I watched that whole video. That was so cool how you created that look from start to finish. I wish I could do this for my moms house and mine when I get one.
I couldn’t tell from the video what kind of surface you started with. Was it wood or something else?
Ahşap 👌
You can do it
@@LeggariProducts 27 layers? You had to repeat this process 27 times on on countertop? Or am I misinterpreting what you said?
@@pargolf3158 I believe they're just saying that they pour different designs on the same countertop over and over again. In other words, they'd done 27 different tutorials for different colors and then did this one. If you remove old tile and top with MDF, or start with Formica, you should be able to do this on it after the primer. Leggari, correct me if I'm mistaken please.
Total talent!
The design turned out beautiful!
I have granet, which works great with heat and cleaning but I would LOVE this instead!
I need you to explain that process better, please.
Thank You!
@@kimberleyjane2338 CURED EPOXY CAN STAND HEAT.
@@wesleyg3088 Yes, but NOT to the degree that granite can, which I believe is what people are asking or comparing to here.
Err
You can certainly do a lot with epoxy, I’ve seen tables that were made with nothing but epoxy, but even for a kitchen table, epoxy can make it look really nice.
That was very cool. Thanks for taking the time to make this. It looks amazing!!
Looks amazingly beautiful!
But isn't resin highly flammable?
Is it safe to use such material in kitchen, not sure
My thoughts exactly, and also the scratches
Not flammable after it cures.
You buff the scratches out once a year.
The scratches 🤣🤣
There's no cutting anything on that table unless you are using a cutting board, but definitely looks amazing.
Looks great, but not practical for a kitchen counter top. You have to baby them forever and buff constantly.
Hi sir im from the Philippines your work is really amazing I'm glad I've seen this video, I really want to learn more, i really believed that it help me to have job here, can you reply me the exact materials you've been used for me to get to know if it available here in our country, your reply is much appreciated thank you and God bless!

Absolutely Gorgeous Counter Tops!!!
Hello Beverly
Good stars this is beautiful, I love the colors and would love to have my coffee table and end tables done just like this❤
Thank You!
The talent on display is incredible!

This was so gorgeous I had to mimic it on my own countertops. Thank you.
Pics or it didn't happen. lol
Please noisy and curious ppl like me need to see it and know
This came out like glass, love this product
Super cool stuff. Can’t wait to use this on my garage floor this spring 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oh wow! That will look absolutely gorgeous!!!
Just wondering if you did that? I was thinking the floor surface might be so slick that it’s a little treacherous.
Do you have video on prep before starting process?
Freakin’ gorgeous! Really looks good against all the white. Awesome results
Thank you!!
I do watch them. Nothing wrong with other companies doing it also though. If that’s considered muscling in, there would be no such concept as DIY!
After you are finished, is there a curing time before you can use the countertops?
Usually 24 hours tops
Отличное работа, хотелось бы научиться создавать такие шедевры
amazing and beautiful work guys.
I think it's more of a demonstration of what's possible. Everyone has their own opinion, doesn't mean they need to share it.
It's a tub of hardened liquid plastic, if it looks unnatural or tiresome I'd say you have great taste.
Очень красиво.👌👍👏🙋🤗🤓🙏💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
но не практично
That's pretty cool I like that
Thank you!
Belo trabalho muito bem feito🇧🇷👍
What would be the best surface to put the epoxy on, i.e concrete or wood? also, how you prep that area/surface?
i have a queen sized loft bed made of --more or less-- sanded lumber and a coat or two of some ugly baby blue wall paint. i use a double mattress on the queen platform top and that kind of works oit because i have leftover surface space on the side (for my books/ alarm clock /water bottle /etc.) when I sleep.
i want to make that little 1' 6" (or so) space look hella sick with some acrylic. suggestions? also is there any way i can do the sides of the pieces of plain ugly lumber on the support frame? how can i put acrylic on a piece of wood that is not laying on the ground (i.e., is perpendicular to the floor)
thanks!
Looks like the video description can help you with that question
Umm, clean it...
Check with Stetsons or Whitecap about Increte Epoxy products, they will get a good number, it's still expensive but they will work with you
Absolutely Gorgeous! ❤
I wish I could get your services in India❤
Thank you! You can learn it yourself at leggariacademy.com!
So cool. Just wondering how to avoid any tiny pieces of dust/hair from landing in the epoxy?
well try to keep the doors of the project room closed and the fans turned off to keep off the dust. For hair strands wear shower cap and keep your pet away
Hire a bald man
If you clean up really well before you pour and minimize airflow as much as possible while the epoxy is setting up, you will have the best chance at avoiding getting anything in the epoxy.
Looks absolutely fantastic. Really good job!! 👌
Thank You!
You guys just do Amazing work, love it‼ 🔥
Thank You!
Can you please make a video or recommend how to add LED lights into your epoxy countertop or a wall art project?
Очень красиво! Молодцы!
Great work! Regarding recording videos, have you tried using polarising lenses to reduce light reflection?
Good tip! Thanks for watching!
It looks so pretty already with the Black Alone...but I know the Ending is Beautiful❤
That looks wonderful! Well done!
Thank You!
Just wondering how much this costs and how durable is it?
Not durable at all. That gloss will scratch to hell and back and will pretty quickly loose it's luster. You can repolish it but this is far from a durable finish vs stone.
Maravilhoso trabalho!
Love my abstract decor look and this would just a kitchen off. Beautiful work gentlemen. Im going to have to teach myself this technique.
Let's make a whole floor like this😅
We have some floor kits you can check out here! leggari.com/order-flooring/#metallic-epoxy-kits These products are amazing because of how versatile they are. Theoretically, you could replicate this design on a floor🔥
Dudes lungs will thank him one day for this...
Yep
That stuff is hard to breathe in?
Good
Good bro?
Lindo teu trabalho 👏❤️
Thank you! We use 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol to disperse the design, allow that to evaporate, and sprits the surface with denatured alcohol to pop bubbles in the epoxy. Good luck!
Epoxy resins countertops, are they food safe?
Depends on which one they use.
Rewelacja..coś przeslicznego 👍
To prawda!
Pow ficou top demais muito lindo parabéns
I like to pour my epoxy colors on to one another separately, not put them all together like that in the same bucket, then add clear into the voids, and my buckets have pour spouts on them. But your technique gives what I call a “Jupiter’s eye” effect, which is pretty cool. 😎
Aí que lindo, queria muito ter condições para fazer na minha casa.
ke pasa?
Lindo mesmo. Amei esse trabalho

Odd comment ……
I pray to the Lord everyday....to post a comment on another person's vido on how to fix counter tops seems counter intuitive. How one chooses to converse with the Lord is ones on business. Light and Love📖

My best friend, that's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
It's gorgeous!! 😮😊
What is the surface? Wood? What steps are taken to prepare the surface so the primer and paint will adhere without breaking down?
