UDATE: TWO YEARS LATER: th-cam.com/video/HxIqbfqe0OE/w-d-xo.html Also, I thought I'd answer a bunch of questions here: ** It's not a butcher block solid wood counter that I'm painting. It is very old laminate that just looks like wood. It doesn't show up in the video so much, but it is scratched, chipped and faded. ** We were listing our house for sale. Our agent advised us to renovate the kitchen. The day we listed the house we had several above price offers. We sold the house and moved out a little over a month later. ** The last time we talked to the new buyers was 6 months after they moved in. At that time, they LOVED the countertops and kitchen, and had no complaints. ** We put the sink back in before painting so that we did not scratch and ruin the freshly painted countertop. This needed time to dry and cure which took like 14 days because of so much clear that I added. We also did not want to go that long without use of a kitchen sink. Also.......if not replacing the sink as we did....who would really pull out the sink to do this? I thought it would be a good idea to show the process as the same that MOST people would be doing themselves, with the sink in. ** I would use trivets when setting hot items on the counter. Once they are cured they can handle quite a bit..but hot pans still stick a little. ** I would not cut directly on the countertop. I always used cutting boards when cutting meat, veggies and fruit anyways, so this is not a biggie. ** Although I haven't seen these exact countertops in 2 years, I post an update of my brother's counters. I did his kitchen 2 weeks after these. No yellowing. There is some chipping along the very edge that could be touched up. He has a family of 6, so his kitchen is a HIGH USE ZONE lol. ** Thoroughly cleaning the counter with an abrasive AND priming the counter is very crucial. If this isn't done well, you may have adhesion issues down the road.
I would have made the base color, the primer you tinted a darker brown like on the floor and then put the lighter on top, would have matched the floor better.
After writing this I see you sold it… Hopefully u did at least MOST of my feedback below: Your counters look fantastic! Contemporary & expensive too so why in the world you chose those tacky clashing raised-impression backsplash tiles I will never know. They are far too busy, completely killing the sophisticated vibe created by yr new countertops! I actually prefer your old natural wood cabinetry to the clashing white cabinets u chose… consider simple rustic re-purposed wood shelving maybe … and the original hardware was better than the dated-looking swirly brass hardware that looks terrible with yr beautiful silver toned countertops. I was shocked to see that contact paper looking image on your dishwasher. Please get rid of that gaudyAF tasteless thing along with the rug. Your kitchen now looks way too busy w/Completely clashing, non-compatible colors, styles & textures. I usually love yr projects but yr kitchen now resembles that of a 1970s double wide. If you kill the horrible new backsplash, white cabinets & hardware that screams “I have zero taste”… go with a neutral non-patterned backsplash & 1color area rug or jute mat, you will have a classy looking kitchen. I don’t mean to sound cruel but that kitchen is Way too small to support 6 completely incompatible designs from 3 different decades. Keep it simple, with things that complement and ENHANCE (vs CONFLICT with) your new counters. Again I’m not trying to be ugly but every feature You chose to “upgrade” yr kitchen w/, shouts CHEAP, except for the sink which flatters your fabulous expensive looking countertops. Your mantra needs to be LESS IS MORE as you rethink & hopefully redo, the cabinets, backsplash, hardware, floor rug, & dishwasher front. Your original gray primer used on the cabinets would probably look great on your dishwasher… Just a suggestion. I will step off my soapbox now as I try to recall some of your previous, well thought out, projects.

You did a beautiful job,I would have never thought this was your first time. This gives me so many ideas again great job .And I can imagine how much this would have cost to get done professionally and you did just as good.I like how you used old bags great tutorial. ❤
To feel useful in needed a very great honor to wisdom's keeping. The experience in life shared, given an opportunity, a very meaniful thing, mostly the best of all what our world is built upon. 👍👌
Wow, this is beautiful. What a transformation your whole kitchen is. I bought an old 1940 house 7 years ago and have tried to fix it up on a budget. When I bought it the lady had painted the kitchen yellow, with the cabinets pink, green, purple, green. Yikes. I have such a tiny, tiny counter space that I think I could pull this off. Thank you for being so brave and showing us how to do something that is budget friendly.
You did a great job! Love the transformation and that it was so budget friendly. Makes me feel like I can do this also. I also love the fact you put veins in yours. I have seen other videos where they didn't and I think that makes all the difference to make it really be realistic! Great job!
I'm glad the homeowner is happy with her project. That's all that really matters. If other's are contemplating a project such as this, I would like to share a tip. When you have a lot of existing texture or pattern in a space (ie: slate floor)...one might want to remember that 'less can be more'. Instead of trying to match or introduce even more textures, colors, and patterns between the floor, countertop and backsplash, you may find that 'complimenting' the existing pattern and texture vs competing with it may be something to consider. This homeowner added a backsplash that also has texture and pattern, and as you can see...adds a lot of competition to the space. Just food for thought, but it's all individual taste. Again, I am glad this homeowner is very happy with her project.
I agree. I've watched a lot of Property Brothers. They never match the floor. They seem to have a template they use over and over again for kitchens. But it's never matchy-matchy.
Absolutely beautiful!!! The countertops & your new kitchen. Love it! Thank you for the video. I will do my countertops the same, & make the rest of the kitchen similar to yours also...really love it!
GREAT job, Lisa. A little paint & elbow grease made a BIG difference! Your kitchen is GORGEOUS. Thanks for the heads up about the mica chips. You're also a great narrator! Enjoy your new kitchen. 💓
You did a fantastic job on this countertop! This is what I was looking for instead of all the epoxy pours that I really don’t want to do. I just very impressed by how well you made it look so natural like a slate stone tile, very cool!
Seeing the complete finished product, with the burnish bronze on the counter top, along with the floor. The window and the door colors blend right in. Again, u did a fantastic job. I’ve seen a lot of them done on youtube, but urs seem so simple and do-able, and u don’t claim to be a pro. 😊
You keep stating that you are not a professional but it came out totally pro looking. Great job! Thanks for the video. I am going to do my counter tops next.
I was not expecting them to look THIS good! I was quite surprised. I may consider doing this with different colors to my own countertops! You did and excellent job! Truly! You should be proud of yourself.
Well, I'd say you did everything RIGHT When you have results THIS beautiful!! I LOVE the shine! (As I stand in my kitchen now..eyeing up the counter tops🤔)
A helpful hint is to lightly sand the first coat of clear to help with the mica flake sticking up, then add second coat of the clear or as needed for smooth feel and look
I love how all of your kitchen turned out. I did mine 5 years ago. When I moved in my kitchen was all beige, walls, cupboards, counter top and back splash. I painted cupboards white and walls medium turquoise. I looked at many pieces of marble and saw they were all different so anything goes! I bought a kit that had everything in it. Black primer than some white, gray and gold. Turned out super well. A friend liked it so much she went home and painted her counter! Only thing is not enough clear coat. I should have bought more and shows some wear now. For my back splash I wanted linear tiles that included turquoise. I couldn't find any and I was on tight budget. I found some wallpapers that has my linear turquoise tiles! It is scrubable and people have to go over and touch it to make sure not tile! Paper came from England at $50.00 a roll. Lots cheaper than tile and a cinch to apply AFTER applying special paint so it would hold!
Been renovating my kitchen and the floor/appliances ate up most of my budget. I simply can't afford new granite/marble countertops. I've been looking at a lot of TH-cam vids about diy countertops and yours is one of the best results. Imma use some of your ideas. Thanks and thumbs up 👍
I love your counter top. I have a u-shape counter because I used to can a lot. I removed a wall and added a counter top over the 1/2 wall. Of course, I did this in the 70's so i had an orange color. I wanted to change it to a more modern color but I wasn't about to buy a new counter. I love the fact that I can change the color this way. I hope mine will turn out as well. I'm 76 yrs. old and love to do this kind of remodeling. I'm going to start this this summer. Thank you for sharing.
WoW!!! This is so-o-o beautiful. Time to irritate my Master Painter hubby and do this to our kitchen countertops. I painted our master bed & bath to look like you're in an old log cabin, with river stones painted around the shower surround. He still talks about how creative I was with 4 colors of paint and a glass plate. He knows "proper" painting technique, but I know creative fumbling till you get the look you want. LOL And several thin coats always work better over a few thick coats. I did learn that from my hubby - his 40+ years of painting experience come in handy for technical wisdom and preservation of the final job. He can also prep a place for me to paint a mural, in no time at all - he's really amazing. Good luck and joy on your future adventures.
So glad you posted this video. Most videos are sales and push epoxy. I needed something faster and less expensive and this is the method. Your countertop looks beautiful.
Enjoyed it also. Have been watching hard epoxy layering steps to redo my laminate counters but now I find your video and a much less expensive way with almost the same look. Enjoyed watching it all.
I've done this myself years ago. It lasted a good 3 - 4 years before it started peeling and only took 2 days to do. On a budget, this is a great option.
Hi Lisa, Thanks so much for your view. We’re on a tight budget so needed a do-able DIY. Sept 9, 2022 - I followed your directions and painted our bathroom old laminate vanity countertop white to brighten up the small bathroom. I sanded really well, did 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of white acrylic paint and 3 coats of Polyurethane (which said to do several thin layers using only a brush so it won’t bubble), it looks fantastic! We’ll see how it does over the next 3 - 6 months an on. I’ll provide an update then. [stay tuned]
I just did my countertops following this method. Got all the products on amazon. It came out spectacular wish I could post a pic on here.thank u so much for this video. I wouldn’t have had a new kitchen without it. I painted all my cabinets, did a backsplash and new door handles. What a difference. It’s like having gotten a brand new kitchen for pennies.
Hi I just saw this and I was very happily impressed. It's easy to have an unlimited budget and just get everything you want done done. Been there done that. But I've also 40 some years ago started doing what you just did when there was nobody doing it and I thought I was kind of unusual but I am so happy that you did that I would so do that again and it's a good way to be able to change the appearance of what you have without the extreme expense of a complete renovation. Kudos to you keep up the great work. God bless you.
Awesome job!! Would you consider a follow up video to let us know how well they hold up? I would love to try this in my kitchen! Thanks for the video. You explained each step so well.
I just want to say thank you so much we have been wondering for years what to do with our ugly orange countertops we were going to replace them but that’s just a lot of work thank you so much
Bless you and your patient. Like you I don't follow directions. I would love to do my counter tops. You have inspired me, your directioners were clear and simple. THANK YOU. 👍👍💕
Good for you!I am so impressed! My husband is a retired cabinetmaker, and he made some great cabinets. We lived on a budget always, but we finally got to have our own cabs done.I opted for painted cabs and laminate counters instead of granite, because I don't like feeling the cold granite under my arms.I love my kitchen, lots of storage,a commercial sink with pots hanging over it.We have to move now,and I am going to really miss this kitchen! If we have to repaint,it would be nice to follow your example with the countertops.Thank you for your video!
I don't know anything about how to paint a counter top so I don't know if you did it correctly or not but I do know the end result is stunning. Great job!
A darker glaze atop the decorative painting but before the top coat would have given you more of the depth that your floors have. Since you are using water based products you could still add that layer. As an FYI its always best to apply several thin layers of top coat instead of pouring it on. In the long run this will save time and will cure properly. This is especially important for kitchen work surfaces. It looks nice. Good job.
I agree with adding several thinner coats instead of pouring.......this stuff was so thick I wasn't getting nice results doing it that way :) I appreciate you watching my video and thanks for the awesome tips!
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead you did a great job. My dad had a cast iron sink in his kitchen until he replaced it and dishes were chipped so easily in it and if you don't refinish it, it just gets stains that have to be scrubbed and the surface just gets so rough. I agree with you just not worth it.
It turned out very nice. I have been wanting to do this to mine....added to my long to do list. I think your way turned out as good as those kits do or better and cheaper Tks.
I was thinking epoxy resin was the only way to go! By the way, you could have put the mica flakes right into the clear coat while still in the can, stirred it, then, voila, no need for any trouble or extra work! Love this! Saw it many months ago, forgot about it, and your video popped up again so I just saved my self nearly $200 (Cdn) as I thought epoxy resin was the only solution to my ugly, previously badly surfaced countertops (by previous home owner). Thank you Lisa!!!
I'm very impressed with your painting. I too think the sienna was perfect. Ignore all the Negative Nellies that commented below. I think your countertops turned out Amazing! Loved your play-by-play!
@@TheQuiltmakerHomestead You worked very hard and well. Well done! :) Be happy with your work! You made a lovely and cozy kitchen for your home! Yeaaaaa! :)
Loved how your countertops came out I think I'm going to try it and like you said if I don't like it we can paint it again. Thank you for showing us how to do it 💕
I'm hearing that a lot hahahaa.......some people love it....some don't like it as much. I have really enjoyed it the last few years, but it really needed to be refinished. Maybe someone will take it and show it the love it deserves :)
Oil base paint is about 10 tens more durable than acrylic water base paint. I would only use oil paint on a highly used area like a countertop. Take it from me, a fifty year veteran of interior design and a decorative painter.
The poly also needs to be oil based. I put water based on my wooden kitchen floor to avoid fumes and it did not last at all.Watermarks and scuffs everywhere.
Very impressive. I painted mine 10 years ago and it is one of the projects I am most proud of. It took me hours as I imitated granite and used sponges and small paint brushes to add veins etc. I have light sanded and added clear coat about every 3 to 4 years as with young kids they take some abuse and the finish is not as hard as laminate. Every time I've recoated they look like new again. I'm going to attempt my bathroom counter and will try some of your techniques. Great video.
Wow, your countertops sound amazing....and yes, I love that you can update them and touch them up whenever needed! I hope you enjoy the process of doing your bathroom as well :)
Thank you so much! I think so too......it was a bit "cold" looking before and didn't quite go with the floors well until I added it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome job! Beautiful result! I so appreciate your vulnerability, courage and willingness to explore and share your experience with a world of viewers! So inspiring- thank you Lisa :)
Stunning work, and I really appreciate your tips. I want to do a faux copper look on my center island and have done that on a furniture top in the past using the same technique you used for your slate. You've inspired me to go ahead and take this on!
You could sand them flat and reapply another coat of poly. Even 3. And sand completely flat. Great job! These types are project make you hold your breath. Not for the faint of heart.
I think you should be very proud of your creativity. You’re counter tops look amazing, and if by painting them, you can afford to give your kitchen a facelift every few years. A couple things I would do differently. I would paint before installing the sink. That’s just a personal preference. I have too little patience for painters tape. I would also get a paint pan for the varnish, and apply 4 coats, allowing a full day to let it dry between coats. Air bubbles can form if you paint it on too quick. But, you have very professional results, so I say, you came out ahead of the game.
After painting counter tops and creating a look of marble counter tops using you selected colors. The counters really do look good. I must ask though after pairing and polyurethane coat .can you use the counter foreclosing preparation.cleaning. the counter tops as you would prior to this painting process. I feel they would be less resitatant. If you cut sandwich will it remove paint or show scratches . bottom line will you obtain the same durability you had before painting counter tops. Please send response it's the only areas not address and it's the only areas stopping me.from doing my counters. I renovated my kitchen and don't really like the counters .i wanted to replace but the backslash is small tiles and removing the counters would destroy the work done with tiles and grout . this would be perfect but does it last Teaira te paintedyh
Hi Teresa! It's been a little over 6 weeks now and my countertops still look awesome. I would not cut directly on them, I would use a cutting board. I also would not sit anything hot directly on them, I would use a hot pad or trivet. I clean them with a paper towel or rag with a multi-purpose cleaner, it works great. I certainly think they are not as durable as a manufactured countertop....but with the right care they are an affordable way to renew what you have until your budget allows for replacement.
Have watched your video a couple of times and showed it to my husband....I just love your laugh. Anyway we have decided in a few weeks to try it without the flakes. You did a beautiful job and looks so easy. Thanks
Yours looks amazing. Thank you for suggesting using a paper towel. I completed mine during COVID and I have some bald spots now. Just going to freshen up and re apply the lacquer. Just cannot afford granite countertops. I used the plastic? tile with grout for my backsplash. 3 years later, still looks the same.
Loved your video. Great to try diy projects. I used a rustoleum kit a year ago and after a process similar to yours, it turned out great! However, after 6mos of use, it became apparent that I DIDN"T put enough clearcoat on, so I started getting mould issues in thin spots. wish I had of put it on as thick as you. LOL....anyhow, gearing up for round 2. Cheers.
Mold issues or mould as in moulding? I am thinking of repainting the "1974 golden yellow countertops in my late parents' kitchen" to help sell the house. I don't want any problems, this scares me! hahaah
Your old sink actually looks nice and shiny...not scratched like most old sinks. I think it is a much nicer sink than stainless. But thanks for your good video. Well explained.
Thank you so much Patricia! I liked the old sink...but it stained so quickly, I was always fighting that AND the enamel was chipped near the faucet and it was rusty.....and ugly hhahahaa......they surely don't make them like that anymore though
Yeah, I know you mean about the porcelain staining. My parents had one at our house when I was a kid and it did stain and was horrible. I have stainless and like it so much better!
@@janetwalker3541 I bought a porcelain sink and instantly regretted it, till i found Bar Keepers Friend. Stains come right off and seems to not stain so easily. I love my sink now!!!!!
@@2182sarg how about tea stains, do they come out easily? Also does it scratch easily? The old porcelain sink we had in the 50s did. Things may have changed since then, but I still like stainless. Just my preference.
I did this in my motorhome....I about freaked when I put the base coat down...it looked so much darker than the original, but I kept going and it looked beautiful..yours looks really nice, you did a great job..be proud of yourself!! Well done.
Absolutely incredible!! I have horrible white laminate countertops and had the thought of painting them but didn't know if it was possible....thanks to your video I think I will! ❤
I was surprised that the sink and range top stayed in place without raising the parts to permit painting underneath. Through use and activity with many crumbly foods keeping the edge of these parts cleaned is required. Cleaning the edges every day to remove a deposit of grime and crumbs around those edges will most certainly after time ruin the beauty of the hand painted surface. I thought some other paint would have been required. Kind of like creating a painting with acrylics on canvas. Thank you for your video. We are over 80 years old. We cannot use any primers, paints, and varnishes in our air. We are looking for a craftsman to cut and place a Formica surface for our new countertop available in local home supply shops. Can't seem to find anyone in our neighborhood on Long Island.
It may have been easier but this took days and they had the sink ready to go. They never took the cook top out. Only the sink. And wiping to clean would no more wear down at edges of sink than in the middle? Same product.
love this video! love when people have fun with home products. I am a condo owner with a fully liveable 3 bed 3 bath home but I want to do all of these DIY projects to save money until an eventual reno, however many years down the road that may be. This is so fun!! Thank you for your efforts!
Beautiful! I may have to give this a try. Just concerned due to high humidity where I live that it might stay sticky. Guess I could do a sample board. Love it! You did an excellent job.
Thank you so much Kathi! I live South East Virginia.....it's pretty humid here but not sure compared to where you are. A test board is a great idea....that way you know for sure before you even start....SMART!
That's my concern as I live in Atlanta. I also wonder how the triple thick will hold up over time. My husband is hard on things and he's the Chef of the house. ;) I've seen resin was used as a finish too.
I did this years ago to my counter shops tops at my barber shop and they turned out great and I did like three or four thin coats of polyurethane and recently I decided to go over it again because it just didn't have enough of a Sheen so I went over it with this stuff that was the one coat stuff it was so thick and it was showing brushstrokes it was not leveling out and then when it was all done it was nice and shiny but you could see brushstrokes and lumps and then after a few weeks It started getting air bubbles under and it would crack and just peel off so I don't know I don't know what to do now I should have just went over it with some more thin coats cuz I haven't any trouble with the one where it's a lot thinner
Wow, everything you put IN your kitchen is what I’m trying to get OUT of mine. I would love the wood style counters and I got rid of a stainless sink to get a beautiful cast iron one. But I guess everyone has different tastes in style.
Wow, that really came out GREAT! When I saw the acrylic paint bought at a craft store I thought..eh, its going to look like crap but no, was I wrong! 👍 Good Job!
I think this is great. I do Faux and Murals for a living. Just for readers, if you add any clear glazing agent like Floetrol to your second color, you get an immediate ability to get darks and lights and modeling on the painted surface, which gives good and easy transitions...a great way to blend effortlessly...and mimmick nature.
I think it's gorgeous. Great job and huge transformation to your kitchen. Imagine what it would have cost to have that done or pay for a ready made top like that.
I actually liked the texture caused by the Mica and would have simply put on another heavy coat of sealer. The counters turned out beautiful and the entire kitchen makeover was fantastic.
Sweet yes, if the kitchen's focus were other wise, like huge space or fancy cabinets or decorative windows ect. but as she was concentrating the counter as a main focal point, where window light rays reflected its surface shouting 'see me,' tied in with the floor dramatics, more in the middle was needed to pull it together spectacular an event DIY. Grey an improvement over butcher block blended light browns, slightly drab without anything to really catch the eye, but nothing of sparkle a flash of colors combined, especially the hazing reddish-brown tints, captured her desire, in my humble opinion.
@@acts10truthlike you would any countertop. Epoxy resin is heat resistant, scratch resistant, and give a deep, dimensional quality. My daughter uses it to make tables.
I painted my mobile home counters but with different products. I got a sample of the counter top I liked at the hardware store to use for inspiration and to match up paint colors. Then I perfected my technique on a sample piece of board. I love my counters and they look much better.
My countertops look like yours did before this so I am going to try this out. Thanks so much for sharing. Your dishwasher would look great with the faux stainless steel sticker.
I just tried this last night and I wish mine looked more like yours. Fantastic job! Mine you can really see the sponge marks. I'm not happy at all. I used 4 diff colors. But, wow yours looks so nice!!
Great video thank you! Are you able to give an update after these few months? How are the counter tops doing as you do kitchen things on them now-a-days? Is the top coat holding up?
3 months after and they look brand new....keep in mind I use cutting boards and trivets to prolong the life of the new finish, however I used the counters just like I've always used them and they held up nicely.
Hi, I just found this video and I am so glad I did. Your countertops turned out amazing and you put a lot of work into them that really paid off. I think if I did it I would leave off the flakes to not create more work for myself. I love the way they turned out and with adding the brown it makes it perfect. Great job! Makes me think maybe add this to my list of projects.
Absolutely love this video. You did a spectacular job, and your kitchen transformation is amazing! We bought a 55 year old house 6 months ago, with VERY worn butcher block Formica countertops. Even has the 45 degree angle like yours. This is what I’ve been looking for, as our budget has been blown by replacing all the flooring and lots of plumbing work. Digging through my acrylic paints now. Going to use a slightly different color scheme and will use polycrylic instead of polyurethane to seal. Thank you so much for the great video and step by step instructions. Priceless!!
I’d like to know too, how it’s holding up after this long. I’d love to do this in my bathroom. I have imitation marble. I loved it 25 years ago. Now, not so much.

Also, I thought I'd answer a bunch of questions here:
** It's not a butcher block solid wood counter that I'm painting.

I love how it turned out, very almost professionally done we learn from trail and error. Love that you targeted normal budget people...
thank you so much Victoria!

I agree!
They look like granite.

A helpful hint is to lightly sand the first coat of clear to help with the mica flake sticking up, then add second coat of the clear or as needed for smooth feel and look
Agreed :) Thanks for watching!
Wow, it would be nice to see any pictures!
What paint did you use to hold the paper on the wall??
Been renovating my kitchen and the floor/appliances ate up most of my budget. I simply can't afford new granite/marble countertops. I've been looking at a lot of TH-cam vids about diy countertops and yours is one of the best results. Imma use some of your ideas. Thanks and thumbs up 👍
wow, thank you so much!! wishing you great success and hope you enjoy the process!
LOL
And several thin coats always work better over a few thick coats. I did learn that from my hubby - his 40+ years of painting experience come in handy for technical wisdom and preservation of the final job. He can also prep a place for me to paint a mural, in no time at all - he's really amazing.
Good luck and joy on your future adventures.

So how does it hold up?
Is there an update??
I just did my countertops following this method. Got all the products on amazon. It came out spectacular wish I could post a pic on here.thank u so much for this video. I don't know anything about how to paint a counter top so I don't know if you did it correctly or not but I do know the end result is stunning. Great job!
Thank you so soooo much Maryann!!

I would have loved your cast iron sink. They don’t make quality like that anymore!
They really don't, and I enjoyed using it these last years....but didn't want to invest in re-finishing it, or the time involved.

Oil base paint is about 10 tens more durable than acrylic water base paint.
I would only use oil paint on a highly used area like a countertop.
Take it from me, a fifty year veteran of interior design and a decorative painter.
stevie68a i’m glad i came across your comment! i was just about to buy an acrylic water based paint

But does it matter when you use a clear coat over it like epoxy or urethane....💜💕
But would you recommend using oil base paint in a bathroom

Thank you so much for watching my video Richard, and for the awesome feedback!

Absolutely incredible!! I have horrible white laminate countertops and had the thought of painting them but didn't know if it was possible....thanks to your video I think I will! ❤
You should have left the sink out until you were done. Neater edges
That what I was gonna say. Then no taping.
I was also thinking why are they putting the sink back before painting.🤔
Why didn't you leave the sink out and remove the stove top? No taping and neater edges....

I think if you put several thin coats of the polyurethane on it would cure much better and faster. Very pretty.

This is so pretty and you just saved me thousands on a kitchen remodel.
I just tried this last night and I wish mine looked more like yours. Fantastic job! Mine you can really see the sponge marks. I'm not happy at all. I used 4 diff colors. But, wow yours looks so nice!!
You did an amazing job. It's beautiful. Your little giggle cracks me up lol.
aweee, thank you so much Mary!
Love how your counters turned out! You have convinced me to do mine💓
Awesome Peggy, have fun and enjoy your new countertop!
Good descriptive video, very helpful for those who wish to change their countertops.
thank you so much Denise!
Yes, the giggle is cute. The counter turned out great. I did just a plain black to up date.
You made it sooo beautiful! Thank you for sharing everything in details!
It was my pleasure, thanks for watching!

Priceless!!
Lisa, you didn’t mention sanding the countertops. Did the scrubbing remove most of the finish?
I think it looks beautiful I'm going to try it this weekend thank you I've seen a lot of different ways to paint counters but I like yours best.
WOW, thank you so much Edna!!!
Edna did you get a chance to do your counter tops?
I'd love to know how it's holding up.
I’d like to know too, how it’s holding up after this long. I’d love to do this in my bathroom. I have imitation marble. I loved it 25 years ago. Now, not so much.
The burnt sienna really made the difference
thank you so much!
YES!
Me thinks so too...crimson color brought lively contrast to the greys inanimate, kinda plain stony without.

At first i wasn’t sure about the veins & sienna but they both took the project to A+. Well done ! Your giggle is adorable too
