I absolutely loved watching this. Thank you for the calmly and enthusiastically presented information. I have no experience with this but I am going to go to a thrift store and practice with a table until I'm ready to do my kitchen counters. With marble spray included. :)
Currently on step five, just waiting to scrape the drips. I’m happy with how the pour went. I’ve learned a lot up until this point. Hopefully this will be helpful to anyone who wants to recreate this project. First, the kit doesn’t have enough epoxy to color AND clear coat. You’ll have to double your epoxy order to do a “dirty pour”. I ordered the advertised kit but needed to order another 2 gal of epoxy so I can clear coat later. It’s obvious now, but not when I ordered. Marble spray is sold separately. Spray painting the rock face edge is key, the epoxy is thin enough on the sides that without some base coloration, it’d look pale. I’ll comment again if I have anything else worth sharing. If not, no news is good news. Satisfied with the product, looking forward to the next few steps.
I don't even know to use a drill, didn't search this... but somehow I stayed and watched this video. And I have to admit, I was glued! Sooo interesting!
I love all your pro tips, because not everyone would think of those things. In my opinion the countertops were WAYYYY better BEFORE the marble spray:) The amount of marble spray kinda made it look too manufactured in my opinion. But it definitely looked great either way! You guys are so good at this! I dont know that I could ever make something that looks so perfect!
@Supa Trending Daily The marble spray is so thin, it doesn’t affect the finish. We actually went over the surface with 220 grit sandpaper after spraying the webbing to soften the color. Later we sprayed it and simply coated the clear after-no imperfections caused by the spray.
Why why why TH-cam suggested me this video? Now I can’t stop watching!! 😩 I am here feeling passionate about what they are doing and kind of going crazy with the idea of doing something like this ASAP.
I love the idea of practicing on furniture from thrift store before doing it on your counters. If it turns out great the first try them you can use the furniture but if it doesn't then you learned something and aren't out much.

Really liked it before, but loved the look of the silver marble spray. Would choose to do about 1/3 the total marbling to keep it special and understated. I love the super shiny clear coat epoxy final layer so much more than the creamy roll-on in most of your other videos too.
that's so weird, i did NOT like the silver marble spray at all because it was too aluminum-ish looking (unreal looking IMO), but everyone is so different, we all see it differently, lol. It's crazy. I'm sure my taste is weird to many as well. I too loved the super shiny clear coat. But I can see the matte finish as well on some other projects they've done (like their vacation home by the river --- I really liked the matte finish).

This video is like attending a DIY class. Hats off to video team. (I am actually going to try this epoxy top pour) I have an epoxy supplier here in South Africa.
@@vickiu2923 not yet! I ordered the epoxy but am working on smaller projects and building my way up to do my counters. Going to practice on a coffee table next.
@@vickiu2923 yeah, respirator, long sleeves and gloves. Epoxy is toxic before it's cured so you should keep it off your skin or wash it off asap of it gets on there, and even though you should be ok on a well ventilated area, a respirator is a good idea. Especially if you're sanding, don't want to breathe in any of that dust. Can't say I'm always the best at using these things when doing smaller projects like jewelry or coasters, but for bigger projects, I think they're definitely needed.
Definitely like the before the marble spray. You guys make it look so easy, but I think I will take your "pro tip" and try first on a used end table or the like. Great video!
Beautiful countertops. The gentleman did a wonderful job explaining step by step instructions. Makes me I can possibly do this to my countertops now instead of buying them during my kitchen construction.
I love watching these tutorials. Ive learned so much. Make your home look like a million bucks without spending a fortune. Renovating our bathrooms floor and showers and i have one quesstion :: Can epoxy be put over redgard? Or do i have to prep it with something?
That's an excellent question, Brittany! We love Redgard! We roll two coats of it on whichever MDF pieces will be frequently exposed to water or steam transfer from a dishwasher, for example. The difference is that we usually do this after the epoxy has already set up. We just Redgard the underside and any edges that haven't been epoxied. If you plan on Redgarding your entire wood substrate before applying our epoxy, then I would cover the Redgard with two coats of an appropriately colored primer or epoxy undercoat. You can find our undercoat and order it with our epoxy at stonecoatcountertops.com 👍 Great question! You got this!

Oops I posted a similar comment before I saw yours. I totally agree with you about less marble spray.
I prefer the "before " marble effect counters. I thought they were very realistic and rich looking.
I had the same thought
@@cherrypie10466 : me, too.
I agree!

This is by far the best tutorial you've done. Maybe next all-inclusive DIY video be for kitchens or showers from scratch? Just a suggestion.
I love how they explain this to us like we have all of those tools, gear and workshop!!! LOL!!! Love their work. I'll just hire them. I own tools, just NONE of those!!! Hahahaha!!!
My amazon cart is overflowing 😩
@@brittanykimbrough7418 MINE TOO, don't feel bad!!! LOL!
I absolutely LOVE the marble look!!! If I had my own home, I'd want my counter tops to look just like it.
I will definitely call you after we are out of the Corona Virus 🦠 Quarantined to have my moms kitchen done as a Mother’s Day Gift 🎁 She has a doll house! You will be done in a jiffy. 🥰
Don’t even care that he is trying to sell me a product. He does great work
Oh my goodness i'm so hooked on these video's.I have got my colors picked and cannot wait to try it.Wish me luck.
Did you try it yet?
Thank you for adding the heat and hammer part showing the durability of this !! That helped so much on my decision to use epoxy.
This is gorgeous 😍 I want this (my husband and I finally have my first house of our own, and kitchen needs updating) but this is very intimidating!
I love how you explain everything. The job came out wonderfully.
Loved the outcome, but the red kitchen paint is throwing it off for me.
Same idk why red kitchen is a thing, but my home has red a kitchen & living room, it makes me depressed 😩 I can't wait to get rid of it.
I painted my kitchen a burnt red but that was 18 years ago. 😂😂
@@Bamoraga 😂😂😂Lmaooo Im sorry to laugh. Lmaoo. Red, Yellow and Orange. God oh mighty. Lmaooo. Not for any room.
TARDISisagirl I’ve painted my bedroom that color in the past and I ended up hating it so bad . I agree, I don’t like the red in any room in a home tbh.
Too dark of a kitchen color for me.
Great step by step video. Thanks guys!
The guys who make the videos are excellent sellers, just by watching the videos they convinced me to do this in my kitchen, I'm a handyman, I had already heard about the epoxy, but they explain it so well that I have no doubt that I can do it, thanks in advance
Using the entire roll of paper towels to wipe the dust off the countertops was the most pro tip of this whole video. I've been pulling the sheet off like a newbie this whole time.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The funniest comment :)
I want to take classes. I want to learn to be a pro.
really well done guys
delivery
commentary and production were 10/10
one of the best howto I have ever seen
bravo
I like before the marble! Turned out gorgeous!!
OK, wow, you guys are SO good at making these videos! I'd never do this myself because it's more work than I like to do (lol), but would hire you in an instant. Super impressive.
Thanks! We love making them!
Before watching this, I was like “Yay~ let me renovate countertops on my own~”
After wathing this, now Im “Well, let me hire someone to do this”
I think it would be cheaper to buy real granite or quartz and u have the real thing for life if you take care of it
Omg. 😂 💯 accurate to a t Hahahaa 😝
Ya not sure how much this is but please don’t go to Hd or Lowe’s for stone call around and shop it I get granite for 28 a foot
Haha, same.
@@Sniffl3s-fl Wow, where do you live? I wish I could find that price in the DMV.
This is exactly the video I’ve been looking for! Thank you so much!! I watched every second absolutely glued to my seat! Love it!!!
That marble spray is amazing !!
Never seen it before, I've worked at big box home centers, & as a point of sale technician for Glidden retail stores.
Gotta show my boss this video, Thanks !!
Wow. It's like looking at works of art!
I just want to keep staring at the pieces.
So anyone else in quarantine watching this cause TH-cam recommended it?
actually I am going to do this.
I came across turn on, liked their video, I was tagged in a tik Tok video, then came on TH-cam, here we are. .
Shut up
@@tabithaletterman3595 of course you use tik tok. You can't even spell

This video is like attending a DIY class. Hats off to video team. (I am actually going to try this epoxy top pour) I have an epoxy supplier here in South Africa.
Both marble effects were awesome!
Loved it before the fracture spray. Looks exactly as I want in my kitchen! Thanks for making this video.
This looks phenomenal, and makes me think I might be able to do this myself. Love your videos! I look forward to trying the products.
Did you try it?
@@vickiu2923 not yet! I ordered the epoxy but am working on smaller projects and building my way up to do my counters. Going to practice on a coffee table next.
I also found a TH-cam video where someone was warning people to use respirators and PPE
I was completely glued to my screen from beginning to end. Amazing video. So many tips. Can't wait to try this.
Definitely like the before the marble spray. You guys make it look so easy, but I think I will take your "pro tip" and try first on a used end table or the like. Great video!
Y'all got me. I did change my mind! I love the marble spray!!!😏🖤
I feel like I could learn everything from this guy, his instruction is awesome
If you plan on Redgarding your entire wood substrate before applying our epoxy, then I would cover the Redgard with two coats of an appropriately colored primer or
epoxy undercoat. You can find our undercoat and order it with our epoxy at stonecoatcountertops.com 👍 Great question! You got this!
Would the behrs paint primer in one premium deluxe i believe its named work as a underlayment?
@@StoneCoatCountertops do you host any classes?!
This guy is so enthused about this epoxy 😂 I love it
I love the effect of the marble spray. I like the silver and I think gold would be awesome for doing a calcutta marble effect.
Your a geat teacher, I'm a good student. I'm seriously interested in learning how to do these projects. I'm watching every video...I will learn through trials and tribulations😳 but I WILL LEARN😁. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE. 🙏Many blessings🙏
Loved the marble design but I also loved the original coat! I'm going to try this for my kitchen. Thanks for suggesting a practice table
Fun drinking game, every time he says Pro Tip, take a shot
had to give up part way through... ran out of liquor. 8-0
Are you trying to give us alcohol poisoning
I got so hung over thanks man really

Shoot, I was just going to paint over the ugly counters in the mother-in-law kitchen, but then I discovered this method, oh Lordy b! Like I need to take on another project! But now, I cannot pretend I don’t know of a better way! Or be content with a boring grey paint. Thanks for the detailed video Gents! (I think 🙃)
I'm going to tell y'all something this is really awesome that y'all did this for free for people like me I really do appreciate this more than you'll ever know one day I'm going to have exactly what I want but for you to help somebody like me even be able to do this on our own is amazing that you even shared I hope that the Lord blesses you in a MIGHTY way
love the marble spray effect, it turned out beautiful. Plus, gotta give your tall quiet coworker a compliment, find him very attractive. Love watching manly men at work(no worries, old lady expressing an honest opinion:).
❤️ This is the best instructional video I’ve probably ever seen.
Just amazing...This is an art..You guys are artists
Thank you! Best video (little slower showing step by step, which I loved) and showed every step.
My favorite video from you guys.
I'm a diy'r, some of your videos I think are made with the pro in mind and jump quick thru the steps because this is old news for pros
Oh this is so satisfying to watch when you pour the epoxy & color without even adding any veins it looks so beautifully natural 💖
Maybe I’ll try this!!! Women can do this too
If I ever decide to do something like this I’m going to need your energy lol this looks great! You guys did awesome.
Thanks Maria! You got this! -Nathan
This guy is so intense he makes me feel like I can do it.... then I realize it’s 2020 and can’t find alcohol cause corona... I can’t do it lol
He said you can use acetone instead :) That's still available during Corona. You can tons of it from Home Depot, and they'll even ship it to you.
