Adding Blank Pages to your Bible

- You don't have to be discouraged by a non-note taking Bible because extra pages can be added to any type of Bible.
This video shows the process of adding extra blank pages to any Bible.
*As some have mentioned in the comments, if you add too many pages, the binding will be ruined. I only add as needed. For me, there are only certain places that need extra pages.

Hello, I ordered half sheets of paper for my bibles and add them in all the time. Yes I could just cut them, but these fit most of my bibles. I got them from Amazon. I got the ones with the dot matrix so I can write or draw. 50 sheets - 5x5 - 8x5 and so far so good. Thanks

Are they expensive
Use washi tape to mark on your page cutter where your sizes of bible pages are, so you don't have to mark each time.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. But you can take one of the fitted cut sheets of paper you have and laminate it and make it a Master. I do this for any papers I have to cut over and over

It’s incredibly freeing. (Just use caution with how many pages you add because of your binding)
You can buy interleaved Bibles. I remember also seeing a loose leaved Bible in a ring binder years ago. I guess someone still makes those, and you could buy a cheap Bible, cut the spine off and put it into a ring binder.

Such a good idea. I can't write on my Bible pages because I can't read with visual clutter.
That would work very well!! Just remember to limit the number of pages you add so your binding doesn't get overwhelmed. (If your Bible has a sewn binding, it can be re-bound; but I think there is still a limit)
To attach the pages, you might want to try the 1/8” tape. Peel a strip off and apply to Bible. Attach paper.
I have seen this method. I decided, for me, that I liked the gluing method better. Thank you for sharing this for others as someone else might prefer this taping method.

I love the idea of adding pages to a journaling Bible, like creating your own study Bible! Definitely going to try it.
Can you tell me what you like better about gluing over taping?
@@custerranch I prefer gluing because it doesn’t affect neighboring pages… there is no chance of it wrinkling or ripping the pages etc. If I glue it correctly with it only hitting on the edge and not on the side of the page at all, the page moves very independently from the other pages. I’m also concerned that tape might yellow over time. I also write in the inner margin quite often so I prefer to not deal with the tape.
This is exactly what I do. Although so far I’ve avoided adding printouts since they are so much thicker, I add a page of Tomoe River Paper as needed for extra notes. I will eventually add images but have some pages just “tucked in” at the moment while I decide. I use rubber cement, when I used a glue stick my page got tugged out.

I have never heard of Tomoe River Paper. Is it possible to print out on that paper? It would be nice to print on paper that is the same thickness as the Bible's paper. I LOVE the printouts but it is sometimes hard to get to Bible pages because my Bible automatically wants to turn to a printout if one is near by.
(I've found it to still be worth it because it adds so much to my understanding but it would be nice)
@@biblenotetakingwithkatie Tomoe River Paper is a Japanese paper most common in the fountain pen community. There are some people who have had success printing on it but I have not tried it myself yet.

And I'm trying to force myself to make a habit to read it every day. But the Bible is so full and ri've so much information. I have just been using regular printing paper. I've recently heard you can order thinner paper to print on. I wish I had done that but it will be fine. I may try and find some to order though to use for any future printings though.

It is the Large Print Journal the Word Bible by Thomas Nelson.
I recently decided to buy a new one because I wanted to make my notes a little more organized. I discovered that during the pandemic they did a reprinting and due to a paper shortage they weren't able to buy the same kind of paper. I've also found the leather is stiffer on it so it no longer lays flat.
In case it helps with making a decision about purchasing this Bible, I do include a review of the new printing of this Bible in this video and the video that comes after it. I have learned to insert. A page, but what if you want 2 pages back to back? Could a person fold the page, then insert? I've never done 2 before and want to decoupage them first and I need 2 blank pages for the image. I thought you tube land could help?
I have added two pages next to each other... add glue stick to each sheet and stick into binding... BUT I have found you need to do 1 sheet at a time. Do the first and then wait a few seconds for it to dry and then make sure the 2nd sheet still measures correctly. Sometimes the glue from the first sheet causes the 2nd sheet to need to be slightly smaller.
Great video! Are you able to share with me which Bible you are using in this video? The font size looks decent with at least a 2" margin.
It is the KJV large print journal the word bible. I love it very much. Unfortunately due to supply problems (due to covid), the new print of this Bible has a more brown shade of page and doesn't lay flat.

Use 1/8” double sided tape for easy insertion of paper.
That is definitely an option. I have seen that method but didn’t want the bulk. I also feel tape takes away some of the inner margin you can write on. And I also like that the glue is temporary so I can change my mind.

What is pound I see 20 and 65 I am thinking 20 is closer to Bible paper but also wondering if 65 is too thick and too much bulk adding to the Bible
It is just the copier paper I find at walmart. I definitely would like to explore different weights but I haven’t yet.
My apologies, but is there any specific reason you did not simply measure it, then match your paper up accordingly to the linear measurements on the paper cutter? You’d also be able to cut a few sheets at a time.💭

Just make sure if you do two pages in a section that you remeasure.. the glue affects how far into the binding the page will push in.
I just cannot get myself to write in my Bibles! I need to stop buying pretty Bibles and get a budget bible so I can write in them but the budget Bibles all have such small print that I cannot read them. Perhaps this method of adding pages is the solution. It is just so hard to use a notebook because you have to page around like crazy to find the corresponding notes.
Well, definitely it is personal preference… I know many people who don’t write in their Bible. But if you decide you are interested and need some words of encouragement…

I have a Bible I don’t write in that stays pretty. It doesn’t have a margin for notes. Its purpose IS to stay pretty.

This is my journal the word Bible. I think of it AS my “notebook” … sometimes I call it my “workhorse”. But its purpose is to write in and be messy.
I’m currently in the process of transferring my notes into a new journal the word Bible / to neaten and organize my notes.
I had played with the idea of keeping one Bible neat and organized and continue to use the old one to scribble in… but that defeats its purpose.
As far as the glued in pages… if you add in too many pages you can ruin the binding… so just be careful with that.
Hi Katie, thank you for the reply. I will look at getting the thinnest possible paper to add to my bible. It is not that I think it is wrong to write in a Bible, but I just love my Bibles. Where did you go for the printouts shown in the early OT as you were flipping through?
Hello.... With each one, if I decide I want a chart or picture, I google for it. .I might put into the search "descendants of Noah" and then just scroll through until I find the one I want. In this video, I show an example of what I do (you can jump to 0:32 and I show myself googling for an image and then at 1:44 I show myself finding a genealogy for Jesus)... let me know if I misunderstood you and you're asking me something different...
also I've noticed sometimes if you go back to find the same image it might be that the poster may have removed the image because I can't find the exact image I found before... so I end up having to find something similar instead.

Just to clarify, as an aside, I personally don’t add blank sheets just to add sheets. I did that in this video just to show people the process.
Whet I do is, as I have notes, I write or type them up, add glue stick to the edge and then add to the Bible. My preference is the typed notes with pictures.
I had the same bible and interleaved every page……. Great idea but it destroyed the binding.

I love this system because I have a Bible verse or two for almost every color showing why I chose the color I did. It makes it easier for me to identify the color with a specific idea in my Bible.
My old system is just that a few colors that are slightly different but I do explain it in the above video. I actually left a couple things out so I ended up making a part 2 to the video. It should play immediately after the one I linked for you.

I am more curious as to where you got your mini cutting table... I have been doing it the hard way for ages.. using scissors.. and often the pages end up un even... what is that device called..?.and who makes it.?.. can I buy it off Amazon?..
It’s a paper cutter. It was at Walmart. They do have a bunch on Amazon.

Why don't you cut 1 piece properly, then use it as a template for all other pages you create? You can easily just mark with 2 dots on the new paper then cut, with that contr!ption you have lol
Yes, definitely, creating a template would work! I have created and used a template whenever I'm doing more than one in a row. Usually the first sheet I do becomes the template for any other pages I need. BUT, yea, you could also wonder why I don't have a pre-made template stored some where... and, to that, I can not respond. Things like that just end up getting squished around in my bookshelf. And it goes really fast to just stick the page in, bend the edges and cut.
As far as this video, you could think of this video as showing people how to make a template for their Bible. LOL... whatever gives you peace

What happened to your Flip Through Your Bible video? I found and printed a lot of the visuals you had but now I don't know where you had placed some of them?
I'm so sorry about that! I ended up deleting it. I thought it had so much "dead" space in it. (I hadn't thought about people using it to find visuals for their Bible) I have a new Bible I'm setting up with all the inserts and actually a lot more inserts. I am planning to video tape all of those visuals / inserts. I think it will end up being a more helpful video in the long run!! But I really should have left that other one up until then.

What paper are you using
I have just been using regular printer/copier paper... but it is a thicker paper than the Bible paper. One person said in these comments that you can buy Tomoe River Paper which is a lighter weight but I haven't tried it yet.
