    Just a suggestion as an option to the glue stick: washi tape. I use it all the time, not just for inserting extra stuff into my Bible, but on edges of the pages to color-code. First page of Psalms is blue, etc. Never a problem with pages tearing and after a long while, can still pull and move around the washi tape ....

    Very nicely presented! My then-fiancé used to ask me to type his notes about various subjects and insert them into his Bible. Each insert was a mini study on the subject and contained references to supporting scriptures. The first one I typed was on which day was the God’s Sabbath and how to observe it correctly. It was inserted at Nehemiah 13 and had supporting scriptures such as Mark 2:27 (who the Sabbath was made for) and Gen 2:3 (the seventh day of the week, not the first day, as most churches teach). Another insert was on the holy days that God established; they outline God’s amazing Plan for mankind, but that Plan is only revealed once you start observing them.
    I typed many “inserts” for him over the years through our life together. We were married 39 years when he died last year. I have the two Bibles he used, complete with those inserts, and I appreciate all the the work he put into them, studying each subject to find “here a little, there a little.” Today, I see people emphasizing how to journal the way they feel about various scriptures, and there’s probably a place for that to an extent, but since our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, His church should be searching the scriptures and synthesizing His thoughts to come to a better understanding of Who He is and who He wants us to become. Bible inserts are a great way to do that.
    When I started helping my husband with his inserts 43 years ago, there was no YT, no such thing as Bible journaling. He just knew he needed more pages in his Bible, and he figured out how to make it happen. He didn’t type, and he wasn’t a crafter, so he enlisted my help.
    Thank you for this tutorial.
    By the way, several people have asked you to remake your template, which is apparently lost. Please tell them to just add 1/4 inch to the width of their Bible page and fold their insert there. Or however much you had added to your template. They seem to be stressing about not having a template.
    Again, thank you for your take on how to make a Bible insert and the humor sprinkled throughout the video.

      when God created the world, He rested on the 7th day. Yes. But there wasn't a calendar back then and the days of the week weren't named. You can buy calendars today with Sunday being the first of the week and others where Sunday is the 7th day of the week. It doesn't matter which day is the Sabbath, it matters that believers make one day holy and give it to the Lord.

      Great note, sorry about your husband. Wow, what a tremendous job you did in assisting him, he must have been really proud to have you with him. I'm going to pinch your concept and type up my notes, stick them in with some removable glue so if need be they can be amended. You obviously have some wonderful memories to live with, what more can one ask for on this sojourn. 😊

      Kudos to you for speaking the truth, and very humbly at that. We as a society need to pull ourselves up out of our feelings and get back to the Truth of things. The Bible does indeed state that the Sabbath is the 7th day. One of the people who commented on your comment said there was no calendar back then so we can basically make the Sabbath any day we want. That, unfortunately, is the mind-set of many. Convenience over Commands. Let's pray that God blesses all of his children with the clarity and wisdom we need to walk confidently and faithfully with Jesus Christ, in the way that is most pleasing to Almighty God. I really appreciate your giving that detailed example of how exactly your husband's note system worked, because I've recently begun more mindful bible study and plan to follow his lead in that. You have a beautiful day 🧡🙏

    This is better than fruit loops & bran every morning. 30 years of notes in margins, on church programs, funeral programs, slips of paper, backs of gum wrappers, & occasional square or two of t.p. in addition to the multiple, increasingly, hard to read, itsy bitsy notes in my Bible. This is truly genius.

    Where the glue sticks/crafting isle are at my local Walmart has a plethora of glue types to choose from. The one that he's using looks like the one that you can use for pictures and photos and scrapbooking, because it's repositionable and it shouldn't tear off of those thin type pages like say in a bible or on cardstock. I've had that mishap before with elmers glue because I didn't know what type to get which is why He's testing it here in a cheaper bible. I've messed up my nicer bible with hot glue and it made me cry a little. But that is how we learn 😢😅😊

    • @406annie
      @406annie ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ll bet you’ve figured this out by now, but just in case… all you have to do is look at the margin on the inside of your Bible and approximate it on the paper you’ve chosen (add a that much to the paper). Fold and stick it into your Bible (no glue). Does it overlap the text? Trim a little off. Does it fit just right? Glue it in. Done.
      Also, your paper doesn’t have to go all the way to he edges of your Bible pages. It can be a little short on height or width or both and still work great. Don’t stress over having perfect inserts!

    • @johng423
      @johng423 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@406annie Thank you for your ideas. I love efficiency.
      My favorite Bible has a page size of approximately 6 by 9 inches. I don't mind if the insert pages don't go all the way to the edge, so I cut a letter-size sheet of paper (8.5 x 11 inches) in half horizontally to get 2 inserts that are 8.5 by 5.5 inches inches each. (Only one cut required, and no waste!)
      > Then I decide how to position the insert paper: I could center it vertically. OR Because my Bible has a heading at the top of each page that shows the book/chapter/verse that begins that page (ex. PROVERBS 14:9), I can position the insert down just enough to allow the heading to be readable.
      > If I want to enter notes into a document on my computer and print them out before adding the inserts to my Bible, using regular letter-size paper (landscape orientation) and a 2-column format is fairly easy to do with no special adjustments needed.
      > Of course, not all Bibles have the same page size as mine. But I would want to think about what size paper I want to use (maybe use stationery for odd sizes?) that can reduce time and waste when cutting inserts.

    I really loved this. Thought of leaving a sheet in, but then knew it would fall out and I would not remember my notes. Thank you so much.

    You are such a smart Bible cookie! Thanks for the paper and the video. I've not seen other videos on this, so it might have already been covered. But, my tip on the glue is that if you happen to get some it on the Bible page (I am using Elmer's Purple) you can use the Publix card to scrape off the excess. It comes off beautifully.

    There was I trying to think of a way to get all my notes in my bible without it looking messy; I come across your video - genius idea! ❤❤ Also great for art journaling without ruining the actual bible pages!

    I love it! Thank you! I typed my notes on the computer , measured my bible page, changed the 'size of the paper on the computer and inserted that into the Bible. If anyone else plans on using a typed version, remember to indent the paragraph about a 1/2 inch (or less) so that you have enough paper to fold to stick in the crease. My fold is smaller than yours for my first attempt, but it still worked! I 'LIKED', but I'll have to hit SUBSCRIBE for this one! Thanks again!
