    That tape trick is GENIUS!!!!

    I’ve done a few courses in bookbinding. We tip in too, with a fine bead of pva/cellulose flue (50/50) all down inner edge, open the book wide and offer it in, but with fine paper it would flop about. And the pages would blister with the moisture. This is an interesting method.
    Old sellotape used to go yellow and crispy with age. Do we know what the modern stuff does? There is such a thing as book repair tape which is translucent and fine, like a thin version of millipore tape for medical dressings.
    The ruler trick is absolutely inspired! Thank you

    Instead of Vellum, which can be expensive, try a heavier Tracing Paper, I like "Schoellershammer Glama Microdraft Highly Transparent Drawing Paper, DIN A4 Pad of 50 Sheets, 110-115 g/m²" it's quite thick, it's also available in 90g/m² which is slightly thinner, and in 80g/m². It's NOT tissue paper! It looks exactly like plain Vellum, but because it's targeted at e.g. Architects, it's cheaper than the "craft" Vellum. And you can print on it really well.

    Haven't tried the scotch tape for tip ins. I use to buy a double sided red tape but with bible journaling I've tried dollar tree supplies and used a white thin double sided tape and do far it's worked. Mine aren't always straight but it's a cheap alternative too

    Hi. Love your videos. Do you know you don’t have to mark with pen before cutting? Just line the left edge up to what size you want and then cut the right side off. Your cutter also has an arm on he left to pull up for larger cuts.

    I love your business like style. I’m not one for lots of frothy junk hanging out my bible, not distortion the binding if I can help it. But you’re applying yourself to content not decoration, and it’s perfect, for me anyway. Thank you so much. I’m ordering some uni jet streams, try them out.
    What do you think of transparent post it notes? I’ve found the glue can damage the bible paper, so to get it right first time, but the little flaps are useful to double up the space you have to write in one area

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve used transparent sticky notes, but I just don’t love writing on them. However, when I add sticky notes to a book or bible, I’m always putting it as close to the crease as I can so I don’t get glue on the words.

    Have you had any trouble at all with your pages tearing around your tabs by using the washi tape as reinforcement? I haven't tried that method yet, but every other time I've put tabs with scotch tape in my Bible the page rips on both sides of the tab😢😊

    • @itscassburton

    I think thst is awesome that those mild liners don’t bleed through to the next page. But how much ghosting do you have? Is it minimal so it doesn’t bother you when you take notes on the opposite page?

    • @itscassburton
      @itscassburton  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is some minimal ghosting, but ghosting has never bothered me. All of the planners I use have thin paper and it comes with the territory. But if ghosting bothers you, that’s when I see people using the Pigma Microns. Those do not show up, they’re so magical!
