    Such good advice. When I had my first puppy many years ago I didn't have a snuggle dog or blanket. I used a hot water bottle not too hot and put a ticking clock behind it. I love to watch your videos ❤

    I never thought of a heating pad. The breeder suggested a hot water bottle but this seems longer lasting. Thank you

      To my surprise , we picked up our 9 week old pomchi today to find out the breeder crate trained her . Such a relief. She took to her new crate easily. First day had two 90 min naps and went to bed at 9:30 with no problems with her snuggle puppy. Did not have to use the heartbeat or heating pad.

    Do you recommend a particular type of heating pad?

      This is what we have found to work really well.

    Hello, I have so many questions about your dogs. Do you have the Mom and Dad? they seem they are full size, but your dogs are mini goldendoodle . So, how does that work for you

    • @DoodlesofNC
      @DoodlesofNC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the question! We have all our parents in guardian homes, most of our moms are mediums, some are standards. All dads are mediums or minis.

    Do you have any recommendations on why a dog potty’s in the crate throughout the night.

    • @DoodlesofNC
      @DoodlesofNC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Karen, during crate potty training, make sure the crate has enough space that your pupp is able to turn around and lie down. If the crate is too big then they feel comfortable using the bathroom in the crate. Also, be sure to hold water an hour before bedtime and walk them to ensure they have had plenty of opportunities to go to the bathroom before bed. Hope this helps!

      Depending on the puppy’s age, they also may not yet b physically capable of holding it all night and may need to b proactively taken out before morning.

    How do you know if they are crying in the middle of the night because they need to potty, or if they are crying because they want out?

    • @DoodlesofNC
      @DoodlesofNC  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s in the beginning it’s most likely crying out , middle of the night it will most likely be for potty.

    Seems like the puppy would eat or destroy the heating pad/puppy/blanket, and not sure why the heating pad is necessary in the first place unless you really keep your house cold....

    • @DoodlesofNC
      @DoodlesofNC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It mimics their litter. They all sleep together and side or on top of each other. It’s just for the first few nights. Then they are transitioned better and you can remove it. Puppies don’t get into the shredding part until a bit older!

    My male cocker loves his crate. Our rescue dog does not. I think she was crated too much. She has a fear of men as well. My hubby, who all dogs love, can only give her treats and give her a love, carefully. She's a one-person dog.

      Try putting the crate in the play pen with the door open, let them explore.
