While we are encouraged to rescue dogs from shelters whenever possible, it’s so important to get a puppy from a breeder like this one if you are going this route.
Wow, Laura, you are so kind to write that.
Thank you for making that point. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to most dogs which leaves me limited on what type of breed/mix I can have in my home. It’s important to acknowledge good breeders like Doodles of NC.
Why? We should just kill dogs, make the owners do it. That way people will quit buying crappy dogs and making other people care for them.
Don't breed . adopt a homeless street dog or a dog from a shelter.
This is not cute it's a insult to animal control that has to kill pets bc of overpopulation. Get your pets spay n neutered. There are not enough pet homes n animals are being killed because there is no more space. We cannot adopt our way out of the dog cat overpopulation.
Do the animals n world a favor don't breed to kill.

My golden retriever was part of a guardian program! We got her for free if the breeder was able to breed her three times. Our girl actually had so many puppies each litter that the breeder said she could retire early! So she only bred twice. It was hard when she was away giving birth, but it was soooo cool to see her puppies. And we got to visit her a couple times, which made it not so so bad. Now we have a cavalier in the same program. Honestly, I think this is the most humane way to breed dogs. They have a home and love, but also a little work to do! 😂

I just love your channel. Your family is amazing. I had a golderdoodle and her name was Kylie. I lost her 6 years ago and the lost of my baby has had an impact on me. I just can't seem to get anothet baby. I'm just so in love with this. She helped me so much when my husband lefted me after 30 years of marriage for our babysitter we had when our children were little. God bless you and your family. I was really curious what a sufficient size for the nursery pens and the size of your puppy pens. I was also curious where you get your pens? It looks like a vinyl or a plastic material?? Thank-You! For your wonderful videos. They are so encouraging!!
Hey Katy, our nursery’s are around 16/16. With many play times a day it’s really their resting zones and eating area. They are from Costco - above garden boxes .
How long do you wait between litters to breed your mamas? Thanks for sharing you guys do so many awesome things with your pups. Your family’s are truly getting amazing pups!
Their cycles are usually 6-8 months between them.
Could you please make a video about the breeding process? Not showing actual breeding, but perhaps show the prep, location and where/how long you keep the guardians during their stay and what you do with them to ensure comfort and success.

Hi there! I've benn channel since 2021 when we got our golden retriever from a Breeder here in CA. Love all you do and the care you give to all the puppies. Currently, I'm boarding dogs at home and I want to use my garage for extra space. Can you share what type of flooring you have in the garage, and did you insulate the garage? I just started following. I am so impressed with the cleanliness of the dogs space. I am confused about the dogs. Are they yalls dogs. Do they live with y’all all year? Guess the guardian part is what I don’t understand.
The guardian home looks after them like food, toys etc etc but these guys only have them when its time to breed. So its kinda like shared custody of the dogs i guess 😂
Doodles of NC owns the guardian dogs. A guardian family is involved in the process of picking the puppy. If the puppy passes the genetic testing, the puppy is then raised by the guardian family. Once the mom dog passes it’s OFA and Pennhip testing she is then breed up to four times. After her fourth litter, she is spade. She then enjoys the rest of her life with same guardian family. Mom dogs stay with us during heat cycles and puppy delivery/puppy weaning.

I’ve been watching another breeder on you tube for about 7 weeks, they keep live streams going, not impressed with them. You guys could teach how it should be done, perfect. I have a Golden Retriever, she’s 5 now, my love she is. Most perfect dog I’ve ever encountered God blessed me with her after I lost my first ever owned Golden 2 years earlier to cancer that tore my heart apart, both such very special loving, caring human like dogs! With the love and care you give these, I’m sure they will be blessings for many families. As with children, a dog adapts to the environment it is in, good calm family, good calm dog. It is left out. As long as mom can’t get to it. She will eat it all!

It’s called a pig tail. So there’s an air pocket of a mom lays on the puppy.

Hi Erin, when the guardian puppy comes back, in heat, who are they bred with?
We pick out different studs based on who their dad is, what the demand is medium or minis, etc. We have three we rotate!

i checked out the site you suggested but i seem to get better information from you …more down to earth. one quick question, can i just use the crate for the first couple of days then the playpen? he will only be 4 lbs when i get him and i think the playpen will just give him to much space till he gets used of me, is that ok?

It’s a variety. Because Mother Nature doesn’t schedule things! It’s 6-8 months im between their cycles. So we’ve had as low as 1 or as high as 5.

Breeding is a big responsibility and if not done properly, it can cause harm to the mom dog. Research a local reproductive vet in your area and ask to schedule a time to better understand breeding and best practices.

Hi I've only been following for a short while, initially for research as we've a beautiful cockerpoo and I'm interested in the possibility of breeding her. I'm so impressed with your whole set up. You have fantastic pup's and mums, your care and attention really shows. I'm so thankful to you sharing your business, I've learnt so much 😊. I understand more from this video about the guardian dogs and it obviously allows you to continue to breed from more dogs. I'm curious to know if you don't mind me asking, is it a requirement for all of the families to allow the mums to breed or is it just a selection of people from each of the litters? Thank you! I would start with a genetic panel and their OFA to ensure a great mom! Then start looking for studs!
Do you make a special deal with your Guardian dog parents to do this? Like are they compensated in some way? Or do they get a special deal when getting their Guardian puppy?
We do compensate our guardian families. Our last eat video that will be released Wednesday go into details on why we chose to compensate.
@@DoodlesofNC I really like what you do. It's hard to find true breeders like you. Wish I lived in the USA as I would definitely buy a doodle from you. We just got our first labradoodle 2 months ago and there was no training and pampering like what you do. And those take home bags are so cool. You can feel each puppy and mom are truly loved and how this is your calling
At 6 weeks is momma dog with the puppies at all anymore?
That's the bit I don't get
Mom returns home to her family at 6 weeks and Bella, our goldendoodle, takes over until the puppies go home at 8 weeks.

A lot do it came from my reproductive vet here locally. Another breeder has helped me too. You tube ! And other information sites. And lastly trial and error
How much cost of your kennel setup
Our puppy nursery renovations were about $20k and our garage set up was about $10k.

A female dogs can have up to two heat cycles per year. Typically every 6-8 months their heat cycles occur.
