      @@meredith18352 People who pay $500 for a dog on average won't do anything horrid to the dog and leave them under terrible conditions.
      We've purchased registered Pomeranians for half price because the dog was given to the owners and they didn't have time for them. Even then, the dogs were in great condition via not being neglected.
      One was locked in the bathroom during the day as a puppy, so he got into a habit of playing in the toilet bowl and didn't know what a squeaky toy was. The other had been locked in his kennel a good portion of the day, wasn't fixed and so had food aggression.

    I love this video. Thank you for being a responsible breeder. While I personally prefer the “ adopt don’t shop” way in order to give abandoned shelter dogs homes, all dogs give and receive love including dogs from breeders such as yours. @@___sparrow___9512it doesn’t really matter if a rescue or shelter is “good”, it’s about the dogs that are there that need homes. There shouldn’t be breeders when millions of dogs are killed every year. Forcing dogs to get pregnant and give birth just so you can make a buck is gross.

    • @ida2300
      @ida2300 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dre12345 its not really that black/white though. Theres many amazing dogs in shelters, but theres also alot of dogs who have behavioral problems that can be extreamly hard to manege depending on your living situation. People choose to get a certain breed from a GOOD breeder because they then know what they get both temperment wise and health wise.
      there are alot of reasons why dogs end up in shelters, but alot of the time it is because the dog isnt easy to take care of, wether that be genetic behavioral issues or lack of good training/socialisation, which you will have to potentially deal with.
      that being said im not particularily fond of doodle breeding, as alot mainly care about profit rather than making dogs with good temperments and health. This lady seems decent, but im still iffy about it tbh. Even alot of pure breeders have poor practices.

    I understand where people are coming from when they use the phrase "Adopt, Don't Shop.
    Usually they mean well. Good breeders like her should not be lumped together with puppy mills.
    Adopting a dog is wonderful, But buying a puppy is wonderful too! Not all breeders are bad, And not all shelters are good too.

      @Martin-gl5ge 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@icetea3854 You make a good point, but in my opinion, there is something that you are not taking into account. It is true that there are too many dogs in the world. There are more mixed breeds/street/stray dogs than pure-bred dogs. This obviously results in a higher number of stray dogs adopted, and a lower number of bought dogs when it comes to general percentages of all the population of dogs. We, indeed, should adopt any type of dog, to give them a life and to have a nice companion. But we cannot ignore that pure-bred dogs are needed in our society. We cannot stop breeding service dogs like german shepherds, malinois, retrievers, jack russels, border collies, etc, because they have a helpful rol in our society. German Shepherds work for the police, and other dogs, because of their traits that were aquired with planned breeding over the course of history, are useful for different service purposes like hunting, anxiety therapy, etc. We need special kinds of dogs for especial purposes. It would be absolutly tragic to let all the pure breeds just get mixed and end up with no special dogs. So there needs to be a balance where there are more adopted dogs than bought dogs. But breeding should not stop ever, it is needed, therefore people should buy dogs, so breeds are kept alive. Also pure-bred dogs are more predictive when it comes to attributes and it is easier to train them and generally work with them. Try to find a GSD type of dog in the street. Impossible. At the end of the day, when people go to adoption shelters, they still pick the dogs with the better attributes and characteristics... So let us leave people pick their dogs, but let us not sopport evil and unethical breeders.

      Unfortunately she is an irresponsible breeder and is really no better than a puppy mill. This is considered “Backyard Breeding” which means it is just somebody breeding dogs for profit or just “for fun” because there is no health purpose for doing it. Hybrid vigor is a myth, so mixing 2 dogs together doesn’t make them “healthier” as many dogs experiencing severe health problems right now are a bunch of doodles. Also, reputable, preservation breeders would not allowed their puppies to be sold to someone who wants to make mixed breed dogs. Thus, the puppies are already starting out with bad genetics from poorly bred parents. Overall, there are many reasons why this is unethical, but their biggest selling point is making “hypo-allergenic dogs” but they’re mixing low shedding curly haired, single-coated dogs with high shedding double coated dogs, making the poodle hair trap down the under coat of the retriever or whatever dog they’re mixed with, making them get more severe mats and have more pain than a regular poodle would if they go ungroomed. There are so many lies and irresponsible things about breeding doodles. Cleaning a puppy’s poop does not mean she’s a responsible breeder

      LB, thats a great question! We try and show highlights of our day. All our mom dogs are free to hang out with us whenever they desire. This is why all the dogs stay in our home versus kennels, or separate buildings. We will be sure to show more shots of our dogs just hanging out with us.

      @@SR-xq9ym No if the illegal kennels and farms would be caught and stopped the numbers would decrease. If you don't understand bloodline breeding as opposed to quantity breeding out of greed you wouldn't understand. • @DoodlesofNC
      @DoodlesofNC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Marley, great questions!
      We love breeding Goldendoodles because the breed incorporates the best of both worlds: the intelligence & trainability of the Poodles and the lovable personalities of Golden Retrievers. Their loyalty, affection and non-aggressive temperament make them great family dogs - especially families with children.
      F-1B Goldendoodles are 1/4 Golden Retriever and 3/4 Poodle. An F-1B Goldendoodle has become very popular because of its hypoallergenic fur. The resulting dog has the wonderful disposition of a Golden Retriever with the almost non-existent shedding of the Poodle.

      @@haleydavis6501 I have breed purebred dogs in the past. Many purebred dogs have genetic health issues because their genes are not varied enough. All people who purchase my puppies agree to spay and neuter their dogs. A designer dog is in no way inferior to a purebred. Thank you for your concern though.

      @@annab4149 there are thousands of breeds out there, they must be well-bred to be healthier lol. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are super unhealthy and they have created many projects to start breeding them with better genetics. That’s why only responsible, educated people should be breeding dogs. Seeing a dog and thinking “let’s make it fluffy!” is not what responsible breeding is. There is no breed standard or health testing for doodles. It’s purely to make money lol. Stop trying to excuse your poor actions and the fact that you’re using your dog’s uterus as an ATM. gross

      I have been for the last 8 year feeding homeless cats. Live here in Canada which is a cold place. I do everyday look at the pet section - there are an enormous amount of pets looking for a loving family and home. Many go years in those shelters. I have 5 cats in my place. Feed about 15 out.
      It is sad for a pet with no home, sad to go everyday and not see them again. Please re-consider breeding!

    “Breeders” of any sort are not okay :)
    You should honestly be ashamed of yourself for perpetuating the existence of animals in shelters.

      Even if more people adopt, there s always gonna be backyard breeder and puppy mills. More people adopting equals more dogs going back to shelter cause those people cant handle a dog and wont train them properly.
      Also, shelters sometimes lie about the dog's past and it reactivity and aggressivity, leading to injuries.
      When I get my first dog, I will shop from a reputable breeder. Cause I dont have enough experiences.
      There is no win win situation, its sad but thats the way it is. We ll never gonna get all those shelter animals out
