I was the recipient of the Long Island Watch Timex Q giveaway and I love it. I had no idea then that it was such a hot commodity. Thanks to Marc and LIW! You rock!
Yeah... I wanted to buy just 1 watch... Look up vintage Seikos, some of the Orients (Symphony, Bambino) and even Vostok if you want an unique (very cheap) diver with lots of modding possibilities.
My mum offered it for my birthday and I didn't want it, had a LCD digital watch instead, Casio I seem to remember and lasted me years. I mean think about it, budding strapping teenage proto-nerd, expensive analogue watch that told the time... or a watch that did day, date, year, stopwatch, alarm and a little light too. And was waterproof, shockproof, kid proof as I went on exercises with the army cadets up to the neck in mud and it still worked. Older me would prefer the subbie look but teenage me thought analogues were yuk.
I would like to say thank you for getting these in, I recently purchased it from you. Also a huge thank you for not over charging and the fee S&H. I love the look of this watch. My only issue with it was when I was setting it the minute hand would move a little when pushing in the crown, drove me nuts. Great doing business with you and look forward to future purchases
Hello Mark. I just bought this watch through your online store. I just wanted to say that I appreciate you not price gouging people on these or any watches. I've waited patiently for my watch (yes I am actually keeping it) all summer and I am glad to have done business with you. Thank you.
$179 for a cool and highly functional Japanese quartz watch is not ridiculous. The acrylic crystal is nothing to scoff at. Acrylic is easy to polish. And the architecture of the watch is amazing. Timex Q is watch of the year.
I think it looks great, and the Idea of a smaller sized reissue like that looks really promising, but the pricing is off. It should be arround 90-100$, than I would think about it.
@@LS1007 $265.00 at auction, it still has a day plus to go, by the looks of the other auctions it will go for over $300.00, just insane, nice watch and all but its a timex,,lol

In my opinion they’re able to get away with it because of the nostalgia factor. As a kid in the 80’s these are the kind of watches my father would wear and give to me when they were scratched up and worn. I was instantly drawn to them the first time they were stocked, but hesitant to check out because of the price. Didn’t make that mistake again. Thank you!
Mark's assessment is accurate. I recently got one at retail elsewhere. It is an attractive watch, but definitely not worth the inflated ebay prices for essentially a novelty watch. I will admit, I succumbed to the hype regarding this watch and feel a little silly after the fact.
I wanted a Timex in my collection for a while but my issue was a brass cases. Even their American Documents had a brass medallion in the caseback. This watch ticked a lot of boxes for me but an actual stainless steel case was what sold me.
People who dislike it and are bashing it because it has a plastic glass, quartz movement, seconds hand doesn't line up etc, well thats exactly why I myself like it, good job timex, this will sit next to my Oris sixtyfive 👍🏻

I bought one from your second batch. I like this watch. I like the design. It's all theirs. It reminds me a little of the Seiko recraft series. How did Seiko get away with that one? They got away with it in the same way. It's theirs -- uniquely theirs. The one and only issue I have with the watch is that I can't seem to set it accurately. I move the minute hand to where it needs to be to match my reference and when I press the crown in to set, the minute hand jumps early or late away from where I had it when the crown was out... maybe only about 30 seconds distant, but enough to annoy. It's an example of how a fiddly mechanism can totally undermine the accuracy of quartz. Still, I don't plan on getting rid of it. I just set it a bit ahead of reference so that I'm not late anywhere, and it's fine. Between this and the marlin, I like what Timex is doing.
They could easily sell these for $99 and still make a good margin on them with all the cheap materials and labor. $179 for a Chinese made watch, no thanks. I'll stick to Seiko or Casio for quartz.

Timex has illustrious heritage but the brand succomed to the quatrz revolution and bad management drove it to a low status. That Q Reissue has a certain charm about it that many might forgive the battery power and be swayed to quartz. My journey led me to eventually love even digital watches.
I have a G-Shock DW5600E-1V that I got from the Casio store on eBay for $36 brand new. I wear it working on the car, in the garage or out in the yard. I have vintage mechanicals, vintage Accutrons, and various modern watches. But I wouldn't trade that G-Shock for anything...it serves a purpose that a nice mechanical watch shouldn't or couldn't. EVERY watch has a purpose, well, aside from a MVMT maybe :)
Okay... I agree with the statement... acrylic, quartz, folded steel, simple clasp. I originally was enthousiastic when I saw it, but thinking a minute about it I prefer spending my money for some more quality. But then again... It looks pretty neat. And in the price segment on around 179 usd it is quite a distinguishable watch. I just dont know. I am confused now...
I've also heard good things about time reliability versus mvmt or Daniel Wellington. I don't have the data in this but I would assume Timex spends more money on quality control than those other brands. Plus it is their design, their original. That's why they get a pass because they are tried and true. I don't know if any watch collector that has never had a Timex.
I missed that the first time around. Being as small as it is, I'm curious about whether or not the average user will actually notice it. Kind of a cool watch, I guess. I'm not sure it $180 worth of cool, even if the seconds hand was lined up with the indices.
Vintage Rolex quartz does that too. It’s hit or miss regardless of brand. That’s a quartz thing, not a specific brand thing. My Q Quartz second hand lands perfect on all indexes, it’s luck of the draw.
Lanning Kann Not really, one of the most accurate watches in the world made by Citizen has quartz technology that allows the hand to land perfectly on the indices every time, leading to a +/- 1 second a year. So yea, really, it is a brand thing and how much a brand is willing to put into making those second hands tick satisfyingly.
Plz Itz Just Mah Cheezits yes in more recent times citizen and a couple of other brands have done that. You won’t find that in most brands though and that’s to include high end luxury watches. Omega, Rolex etc will still have the issue with second hands not lining up. Citizen is an anomaly and you will generally only find it in radio controlled models. I have a citizen Titanium pilot that keeps everything lined up, but my Citizen Tough does not. My Timex Q Quartz hasn’t gained or lost more than a second in 2 months and the second hand lines up perfect on all indexes. It has a $8 seiko movement in it. How can you explain that compared to some extremely expensive quartz watches that aren’t as accurate? Again luck of the draw.

Hello Marc!
Will you have the new Seiko 5s on your site in the near future? Would love to know!
That second hand was driving me crazy! $180 for a quartz watch and the second hand is not even aligned, ridiculous.
I missed that the first time around. Being as small as it is, I'm curious about whether or not the average user will actually notice it. Kind of a cool watch, I guess. I'm not sure it $180 worth of cool, even if the seconds hand was lined up with the indices.
So many Timex watches have that same issue and it's really disappointing
Hi . Did you have a vid from sea gull watches or mouvment already ?
Good looking watch !
That's a beauty!
Did they plan to have the seconds hand land in between the minute markers??? Lol
Yeah that annoyed me too
Vintage Rolex quartz does that too.
Plz Itz Just Mah Cheezits That Citizen costs a lot more mind you!
durn it, too late to pick one up... wait list? thanks Mark and great site and content... two thumbs up bud.
Get on the list!
Boom! And they're gone... AMAZING!
Yeah.
Marc!!! I thought you meant New Stock at the Timex.com.
I was checking the Timex web site all day long. GRRRR!!!
C'mon. Why would I advertise for another company ;)

Honestly if more quartz watches had the quick change battery hatch and used an easy to find battery, I’d have a ton of quartz watches.
It's a very nice looking watch. If someone likes it and is prepared to pay the $179, why not.
Sold out again! I have been trying for months to get one!
Just relisted on Timex website.
Mr. Wombatt
Just checked and it all gone again
@@Lightdog555, that's too bad. They sat for a bit, though. I didn't realize the demand was that high.
Sold out forever lol...I followed your IG and await the next batch for my collection
Available on timex website now!
@@jque35ify not anymore
@@jque35ify got one this am. Sold out in a few hours. :)
I got one too !
Any idea if this is a limited production watch?
If this watch was a 40 I’d be searching for it on eBay. Good looking watch
awesome.
So what's the likelihood I can get this again in the next drop?
It’s in stock on timex’s site right now if you missed
@@wyldc6708 damn I just checked and it's out of stock
This just made me smile. How many watches did you order this time? 10 minutes after the video dropped and it's gone. Well done!
105
It is a good looker, with a classic shape that fits well. I wish them all the best - and you too, of course! Does it pull the arm hair? That bracelet looks like it probably grabs.
Not in the few min I wore it.
L.I. Watch,
Quick side question, if you're currently out of stock for an Seiko SKX173 model (or even the SKX007), will you get any new ones from somewhere, or we're basically sh** out of luck? Just curious.
More will come.
@@islandwatch Awesome! Thank you!
Another ques't...I've just started and in the midst researching both Orient and Phoibos divers type watches. I should be able to put on Nato straps on the Orient and Phoibos?
Thanks Mark! Today I got one from you, even before Timex restocks tomorrow!
;)
Not seeing the GMT hand on this--does it track the second time zone in some other way?
using the bezel.
I just got my Special Edition Marlin "Flying Ace" in the mail today. Hand delivered by the Postmaster from my.local Office. They had delivered it to the wrong address.
I just tried ordering one of the Q's... and your website said they're out of stock. How many did you put in the new batch?
Said on Instagram 105
I called and left him a message and filled out the form to get a heads up on the next batch.
105 sold thru in 20 min.
Amazing. Did you get my voicemail?
